Chapter 398 I'm Taking This Man to the Party

Paige had just stepped out and was about to call Pearl when someone outside came up and said. "Ms. Ellison, Mr. Louis Carnegie is here to see Mr. Raymond Carnegie."

Paige said, "I'll be waiting for him in the study. Let him come directly to see me."

Paige went to the study first. She composed herself, not wanting her emotions to cloud her judgment.

Louis originally came to discuss the matter with Raymond, but Pearl brought him to Paige instead.

After bringing him in, Pearl didn't plan to leave and just stood by the side.

"What happened to Andrew?" Paige asked first.

Louis answered, "He made a distress call, but the line got cut off before he could finish. We've been trying to reach him ever since, but no luck."

Louis was anxious. He and Margaret didn't share much familial affection, but she was still his grandmother, and he didn't want to see her die.

He had been calm before because he knew Margaret was useful to Andrew, and Andrew wouldn't harm her, at least not fatally.

But now, with the situation unknown, Louis was worried that those ruthless people might really kill Margaret.

If that happened, the Sackler family would be left with only him.

Paige understood Louis's concerns. At this moment, not only was Louis anxious, but Paige was also worried.

After all, Margaret knew her true identity. If she completely betrayed her, Xanthe Ellison's identity would be exposed.

As long as Margaret was in Andrew's hands, Paige was confident she could counter Andrew.

But now, with someone else having kidnapped Andrew, Paige didn't dare to think further.

The Russell family had long been in Arcadia, and the Hamilton family had accepted the Universe Group's banquet invitation. The Hamilton family might also be in Arcadia, waiting for an opportunity.

Besides these two families, Paige didn't know if there were others eyeing the situation.

After her release, she chose Northwind first, not only because Luna was there but also because she was confident she could easily take control of Northwind's forces.

Now, she had full control over Northwind's forces with little effort.

Perhaps it was because people saw her capabilities that the Russell family and the Hamilton family appeared in Arcadia before she could even go to Dominia.

If she won this round, she would become a sought-after partner for the Russell family and the Hamilton family.

If she lost, she would completely lose her identity as Xanthe Ellison and be disgraced. But for the Russell family and the Hamilton family, there would be no loss at all.

They would just continue their bloody competition.

After quickly considering these outcomes, Paige looked at Louis and said, "Listen carefully, I'll only say this once. I'll lend you Cecil. He'll help you find the addresses of the Russell family and the Hamilton family. You arrange for people to keep an eye on them, and inform me immediately if there's any movement."

Paige added, "Besides helping you find the locations, he'll also try to search for your grandmother's whereabouts. I'll give you manpower and resources; you can carry out the rescue! My true identity must not be leaked from her mouth, not a single word!"

Louis said, "I'm sorry. I know there's deep resentment between you and Margaret, but this time, I promise she won't abandon or betray you again. Paige, don't worry, I'll start working on it right away."

Paige took a deep breath. Time was running out. Even if it required a thorough search, she had to find her before tomorrow's banquet.

After Louis left, Paige looked at her watch. Time was running out. The sense of crisis, combined with the despair brought by the disfigured man in the other room, pushed Paige into an unprecedentedly difficult situation.

Pearl noticed Paige's emotional turmoil and gently reminded her, "Ms. Ellison, you're still pregnant. Don't get too emotional."

Paige looked down at her belly. The pregnancy was still early, so her abdomen was still flat.

But there was indeed a child of hers and Raymond's. She was looking forward to this little life, and she had even called Locas over in advance for this little life.

However, with Locas here, she didn't even have time for a thorough check-up.

Paige subconsciously touched her abdomen, feeling a bit guilty towards the child.

Just then, Raymond temporarily set aside the matter of the disfigured man and came to see Paige.

Paige looked at him curiously.

She wondered if Raymond had found something to prove the disfigured man's identity or if he already knew who he was.

Raymond approached and gave Pearl a look, and Pearl quietly left the room, thoughtfully closing the door.

Raymond gently hugged Paige, soothingly patting her back, and said. "There's something I think I should tell you."

Paige slightly pushed Raymond away and looked at his face, asking, "What is it?"

Raymond said, "My older brother, Gregory, his car accident from over a decade ago was misunderstood by many as something I caused. Some even thought he lost his life saving me without knowing the truth."

Paige asked, "So, what's the truth?"

"Actually, some evidence points to..." Raymond suddenly seemed unsure of how to continue.

But Paige, being very smart, roughly guessed what Raymond was about to say.

Paige said, "It has to do with her, right? Francesca, she caused the car accident?"

If that was the case, then the man in the room was Steven?

Francesca killed Gregory but let Steven survive?

Paige had lived with Steven during her childhood. He was a good father and husband.

But he was too busy and died too early.

Raymond didn't answer. Paige closed her eyes and said in despair, "What kind of demon is she?"

Raymond hesitated, "Paige, don't be quick to blame. The man inside might have a close relationship with you. He..."

Paige said, "He might be Steven, my adoptive father."

Raymond was stunned. "Steven?"

Paige nodded, "That's right. The car accident back then was related to the Universe Group's technology department's masks. The man inside was disfigured because the mask technology was immature. I originally thought he should have the last name Carnegie. If that's the case, and he's Steven, it's a good thing for the current situation."

Paige continued, "Tomorrow's banquet is unavoidable. I don't trust Margaret. As long as there's enough benefit, she will definitely betray my identity. But if I have someone by my side who poses an absolute threat to her, she will definitely keep my secret even if it means dying! I've decided, if Louis can't rescue Margaret before the banquet. Tomorrow night, at the banquet targeting my identity, I'll bring this man along!"
