Chapter 357 The Patron Behind the Scenes, Very Familiar

"Women?" Paige's mind quickly searched through the important female members of the three remaining major families.

'No, it can't be her, so it have to be one of the other two families.' Paige thought.

However, those two families had become increasingly mysterious, and the information Paige had might not be entirely accurate regarding how many important female members there were.

But at least she had a target!

Paige smiled slightly, "I told you, Ms. Morgan, you're very smart. Now, the second question, what do you think her age range might be?"

Lily replied, "How would I know? We only transact online, and the calls are through virtual numbers with voice changers. I can't even hear the other person's voice clearly."

Paige smiled slightly, "You must have a feeling."

Lily took a deep breath, "I really don't know. If I guess wrong, it could affect your judgment. I can't just make a random judgment from afar. What if this benefactor lives in Arcadia or even right next to us? It would affect our thinking."

Paige insisted, "Just answer what I ask you, don't overthink it. That's not your concern, understand?"

Lily glanced deeply at Oliver, who was tied to a wheelchair with his mouth taped shut.

She was indeed overthinking it.

The woman in front of her was Xanthe Ellison, whose intelligence was on par with those outstanding men.

Lily said, "She should be a middle-aged woman, not particularly young. Her experience and caution are not something a young woman could match."

Paige smiled, "That's more like it. Answer what I ask!"

Lily asked, "Any more questions?"

Paige shook her head, "No. Tomorrow night, the Morgan family has a very important banquet. You can attend as the goddaughter of the Morgan family. If I'm not mistaken, your benefactor will definitely be there. Get yourself ready and use your intelligence at the banquet."

Lily was suprised. "What? The Morgan family? You want me to attend the Morgan family banquet? My identity is fake."

Paige smiled, "If I say you're the goddaughter of the Morgan family, then you are. No one will kick you out."

Lily looked at Paige. She had only been in Arcadia for a few days, and she had already managed to deal with the Morgan family.

It seemed she had no choice but to attend the banquet tomorrow night.

Lily asked, "How do you know my benefactor will definitely attend the banquet?"

Paige answered, "Because of human greed!"

With that, Paige walked out of the study.

She had gotten the answers she needed and had made the necessary arrangements.

As Paige walked out, Pearl gave Julian a look.

Julian said, "You have ten minutes to talk."

With that, Julian tore the tape off Oliver's mouth and untied the ropes binding him.

Then he stood aside, not intending to leave the room.

Lily rushed over and hugged Oliver tightly. "How are you? Are you okay?"

Oliver replied, "I've been receiving treatment these days, and everything is fine. What about you? Are you okay? Be very careful while carrying out tasks without my assistance."

Oliver knew that ten minutes would pass quickly, and with people watching, they didn't have much time to talk. They could only focus on the important points.

Lily's eyes filled with tears as she tightly held Oliver's hand, "I'm fine. I'm just worried about you being tortured by them."

Oliver shook his head, "I'm fine. Look, I'm doing well. Our benefactor is very cunning and has extraordinary power and influence. They chose us, orphans with no background, to do the job because if anything goes wrong, we would be killed. And if we were killed, no one would investigate our deaths. Lily, we're in a difficult situation. You must be very careful. There might be some conspiracy at tomorrow's banquet. Keep your distance from Ms. Ellison."

Oliver had been pondering these things for days.

Lying in bed, he couldn't help Lily much and wasn't even allowed to contact her.

Finally, having the chance to see her, he told her all the important details.

Lily nodded, "I know. Once we find the benefactor and complete the task to get the antidote, we'll quit. We'll live our lives as we planned, in a place where no one knows us. We have enough money to live comfortably for the rest of our lives. We can't afford to offend any of these powerful forces. We'll find a quiet place to live."

Oliver nodded, and they embraced each other.

Julian and his subordinates stood around, listening to every word they said.

After Paige walked out, Pearl followed her.

Pearl asked, "Ms. Ellison, has the Morgan family agreed?"

Paige nodded, "They have no reason not to. The Morgan family holds a significant position in Arcadia, comparable to the Carnegie family in Northwind. In such a prestigious family, even if Lily makes a mistake, her benefactor wouldn't act rashly."

Pearl nodded, "But will the benefactor definitely come?"

Paige replied, "Since they're looking for secret funding clues, hearing that the Morgan family has a clue, how could they not come to investigate?"

Pearl thought for a moment and said. "That makes sense. But the only ones who know about the secret funding are the five major families. Of course, there might be branches of the five families. If there are any survivors or affiliated families from the other families that were wiped out, they might know something too. So, it's still unclear which side is collecting clues so aggressively."

Paige replied, "We'll get answers! A woman, middle-aged, smart, cunning, and very cautious."

Paige suddenly smiled coldly.

Pearl was puzzled, "Ms. Ellison, what's wrong? Is there something suspicious?"

Of course, it wasn't suspicion. Paige just felt that these characteristics sounded increasingly familiar.

But she couldn't figure it out!

Paige suddenly stopped on the stairs, turned to look at Pearl, propped her right hand on her left elbow, and rested her chin on her left hand, deep in thought.

Paige asked Pearl, "Don't you think these characteristics sound familiar?"
