Chapter 392 You are not a member of the Ellison family!

It was not very hard to find if they follow the diagram.

In a corner of the wine cellar, Paige looked at the diagram and then at Raymond. "Isn't this a mouse hole?"

Raymond couldn't help but laugh. "Paige, come on, give me some space."

He then gently moved Paige aside.

Raymond approached the spot that looked somewhat like a 'mouse hole' and reached his hand inside.

Raymond stretched his arm deep into the 'mouse hole' and felt around for a long time before pulling out a small package.

"Got it," Raymond said, taking the item out.

Paige asked, "There's really something in there?"

Raymond nodded. "Let's open it and see."

Paige nodded and took the package from Raymond.

Raymond continued, "A wine cellar like this wouldn't have a mouse hole. I think this place was abandoned to make the 'mouse hole' look more like a real mouse hole. Being abandoned, no one would pay attention to it. An abandoned place having a mouse hole is quite normal. No one would think that something might be hidden there. But whether Mr. Ellison knew about this item being here is another question."

After all, Paige wasn't really Xanthe Ellison, nor was she Wesley's biological granddaughter.

Although Wesley entrusted the Ellison family to Paige, he might have held back some secrets.

Paige thought Raymond made a good point.

However, she didn't continue to question it. From the moment she got the small, blackened leather package, she felt it had been in that hole for quite some time.

As she gradually opened the clasp of the package, she could sense the care with which the item had been wrapped.

Perhaps this really was a clue to the secret funds.

Paige opened the outer wrapping to find another layer of tightly wrapped parchment.

Paige patiently unwrapped it layer by layer until a small piece of sheepskin was revealed.

When she saw it, Paige's eyes lit up.

The entire clue to the secret funds was a large map on a piece of sheepskin.

It had been divided into many pieces and kept by several families.

After years of schemes and plundering, these map fragments were scattered all over.

Only the descendants of these families knew where their pieces were hidden.

So, these clues were very rare.

Paige opened the last piece of sheepskin and, after carefully examining it with Raymond, confirmed that it was indeed a map.

"It's actually real." Paige looked at Raymond in disbelief.

She had been frustrated by the lack of new clues to find the map.

Unexpectedly, a piece of the map had been in the villa where she had lived for so long.

If it weren't for the clues in the bag brought by the disfigured man, Paige and Raymond might never have found this item in their lifetime.

This showed how difficult it was to find other map clues.

Paige became even more interested in what the disfigured man had said about having other clues.

Judging by the man's age, he was probably in his forties, not yet fifty. And it wasn't his first time working with Lily.

He had several map clues, which he must have been searching for many years.

Raymond also confirmed, "The item is real, which makes the disfigured man even more important. Whether we can get more maps depends on his cooperation."

However, this was a headache for Paige. The man had even resorted to sowing discord, and she couldn't understand why. She and Raymond were married, and she represented the Ellison family.

After all, it was once one of the five great families.

Why would he choose to cooperate with a family that wasn't one of the five great families?

Could it be that he had a grudge against the Ellison family?

Paige took a deep breath. "How will he cooperate willingly? He has so many clues, he must be connected to the five great families. Let's go see him. Besides, I've spread the word; he must have other accomplices. Even if he doesn't cooperate, we might be able to use him to threaten his companions and get unexpected results."

Raymond agreed with Paige's idea. After Paige put away the map, she found something to block the hole.

Looking back at the wine stored there, she realized that their entry had disrupted the original sealed conditions.

Putting the wine back wouldn't be as suitable as before.

Storing so many bottles of the same vintage here clearly meant that these wines were very important to Wesley or his family.

After coming up from the wine cellar, Paige asked Pearl. "There are some bottles of 1975 wine stored in the cellar. Do you know their origin?"

Pearl shook her head. "1975, over forty years ago. Mr. Ellison would have been in his early thirties then. He must have lived here at that time. I'll ask Austin to check the records and find out."

Paige nodded. "Go ahead. Also, have Austin move the wine to the new cellar for proper storage. These wines must be important."

Pearl said, "Yes, I'll arrange it."

Paige and Raymond returned to the room where the disfigured man was held.

The man was tied up inside, with Julian personally guarding him.

After entering the room, Paige walked up to the disfigured man and ripped the tape off his mouth.

"What should I call you?" Paige looked at him. Despite being captured, the disfigured man was very calm, except for his earlier struggle in the car.

The disfigured man looked at Paige and Raymond, who still had a layer of dust on them, and he knew what had happened.

He didn't answer Paige's question but instead asked. "You got the map fragment, didn't you?"

Paige nodded, "Yes, we got it. But you should know we're not satisfied with just that."

The disfigured man, tied to the chair, looked up at Paige. "You want the other clues and the maps I have. I told you, I won't give them to you. He can have them, but you can't!"

The disfigured man emphasized the word 'you,' making it clear that he would never give the clues to Paige.

Paige said, "I'm part of the Ellison family. Don't I have more right to these things than he does? These secret funds originally belonged to the five great families. I'm a descendant of one of those families. Why can't I have them?"

Paige's words didn't change the disfigured man's gaze. He firmly said, "You're not!"

Paige was stunned. He was using a definitive statement, and the only person who could confirm she wasn't part of the Ellison family was Andrew!

Paige asked coldly. "Are you in cahoots with Andrew?"
