Chapter 186 Don't Have Time for You

Margaret and Xena were both eager to wrap up the deal with Universe Group ASAP. If everything went smoothly, even if Xena and Luna were a match for the kidney donation but refused, they wouldn't catch any flak from the public.

Xena perked up at this. "Grandma, do you have a plan?"

Margaret grinned. "I wouldn't use it unless we had to. If we make our new energy project data look impressive, they'll definitely want to team up with us. By the way, what did the hospital say? When are the matching results coming out?"

Xena's mood soured at the mention. "Paige said the latest would be the day after tomorrow."

Margaret was taken aback. "Why so soon? What's going on with the Smiths? Why is Amelia so chummy with Paige? Did they pull something when Paige took Luna over?"

Xena nodded. "Yeah, it's weird. Why are the Smiths suddenly so close to Paige? Amelia even came to our place with Paige today. That woman is such a pain."

Xena thought about the videos and evidence Amelia had on her. She knew she had to get them back. Once she was done with the Universe Group, she wouldn't let Amelia off the hook.

Of course, Xena had no clue that Amelia had already handed all the videos to Paige without keeping any copies.

Margaret and Xena decided to share the Sackler family's biggest project with the Universe Group. Basically, they were giving up some benefits to get strong backing from the Universe Group.

After deciding, Xena called Pearl.

Seeing Xena's number, Pearl immediately told Paige, "Xanthe, the Sackler family isn't giving up. They're calling again."

Paige frowned. "Now?"

Paige thought, 'At this time, do the Sackler family still have the nerve to call for cooperation? Do they not care about Luna's condition at all?'

Paige clenched her fist and said, "Answer." Pearl answered and put it on speaker.

Xena, a bit anxious, spoke up as soon as the call connected. "Hello, Xanthe. This is Xena from the Sackler Group. I wanted to invite you to dinner. Are you free?"

Pearl looked at Paige, who shook her head slightly. Pearl said, "The schedule is tight. Miss Sackler, please get to the point."

Xena quickly brought up the project.

Paige mouthed to Pearl, "Agree to it."

Pearl nodded and responded to Xena, "I'm very interested in your proposal."

Hearing this, Xena excitedly looked at Margaret. Margaret also breathed a sigh of relief.

Xena asked again, "Can we have dinner to discuss this in detail?"

Pearl looked at Paige, who nodded. Pearl replied, "Alright, send the time and place to my phone. I'll be there on time. If there's nothing else, I'll hang up now."

Xena quickly agreed.

After hanging up, Pearl looked at Paige. "Xanthe, you agreed to it?"

Not only Paige, but even Amelia beside her was a bit incredulous. "Are you really planning to team up with the Sackler family?"

Paige looked at them. "They're so eager. Wouldn't it be a waste not to?"

Amelia, quick on the uptake, sensed Paige had more up her sleeve. She smiled faintly and asked, "Got something else in mind?"

Paige replied, "Xena doesn't want to donate a kidney to my mom. If the matching results come out and they match, she'll refuse without a second thought. She's desperate for my cooperation to make me her ally."

Amelia's eyes widened. She felt a bit pleased. Even the Sackler family was eager to rely on Paige. Good thing she saw this coming.

Pearl said, "They've booked a dinner at a hotel for tonight. Can Mrs. Parker be left alone?"

Paige replied, "Mom's always asleep. There are medical staff with her. Let's go. Xena's dying to meet me."

Pearl said, "I'll handle the arrangements."

Paige nodded. Amelia felt a bit excited. She was close to uncovering Paige's true identity. She quickly asked, "Can I come with you?"

Paige looked at Amelia and saw her curiosity. "Sure, why not."

Paige didn't mind taking Amelia along. Plus, since Amelia had already allied with her, it made sense for her to want to know Paige's true identity. Paige wanted to give her this chance.

Amelia happily said, "Great. I'll go with you then."

In the evening, Luna still hadn't woken up. Paige, as planned, took Pearl and Amelia to the appointment.

Xena had booked the most expensive suite in a five-star hotel, flaunting the Sackler family's extravagance.

Paige casually checked the time and said to Pearl, "Don't go in too early. Drive around a bit and show up about five minutes late."

Pearl nodded and managed the time perfectly.

Arriving five minutes late, Paige took Pearl and Amelia up the elevator straight to the suite Xena had booked.

At that moment, Xena and Margaret were waiting at the door. Seeing Paige leisurely walking over, they both frowned."Why is our luck so bad? We finally get an appointment with Xanthe, and now we run into this jinx." Xena's face immediately soured.

Margaret, however, stayed calm. "The hotel's big. It's normal for her to be here. After all, she hasn't divorced yet and can still afford a five-star hotel. Just ignore her and pretend she doesn't exist."

As Margaret spoke, Paige had already walked over.

Xena looked at Margaret. "Grandma, why is she coming towards us?"

Before they could say anything, Paige spoke first, "Serenity Heights Hotel, the most expensive suite. Not bad, you managed to book it."

With that, Paige stepped towards the suite. The next second, Xena shouted, "Stop."

Margaret, fearing Paige would ruin their dinner, quickly said, "Paige, we don't have time for you today. Please leave!"

Paige turned around and raised her voice. "What? You want me to leave?"
