Chapter 187 Xanthe's Phone is in Pearl's hand

Paige smirked, shook her head, and strolled right into the private room.

Margaret, fuming, stormed in after her and jabbed a finger at Paige. "We've got something super important going on today, Paige. You better scram. Or else, don't blame me for getting nasty."

Xena grabbed her phone and dialed. "Where's hotel security? Someone's barged into our private room. Get them out, now!"

Next to her, Amelia was trying hard not to burst out laughing.

Pearl was about to say something when Xena slammed the phone down and turned her fury on Pearl, who was standing next to Paige. "Who do you think you are, barging in here? We've got a VIP today. Don't mess this up."

Paige raised an eyebrow. "A VIP? What kind of VIP?"

Xena huffed. "A very important one. You wouldn't get it even if I explained."

Paige gave a sly grin. "Oh, really? I'm curious. What kind of big shot are we talking about?"

Seeing Paige's defiant attitude and her refusal to leave, Xena got more and more agitated. She pointed at Paige and snapped, "Paige, what's your deal? We've got a guest coming, and you're just sitting here? I already went to the hospital for that matching test today. What more do you want?"

Paige shot back, "I think you want to meet this VIP because you don't plan on saving Mom, right? Otherwise, why would you share the Sackler family's biggest project?"

Paige called them out, plain and simple.

Margaret and Xena exchanged nervous glances.

Margaret's voice went up a notch. "Paige, what do you mean?"

Paige smirked again. "You know exactly what I mean. Do I need to spell it out? I don't think so."

Xena blurted, "No way, how do you know?"

Margaret pulled Xena behind her and faced Paige. "How many times do we have to say it? We've got a VIP to entertain. Take your friends and leave."

Just then, the hotel security Xena had called showed up. "Mrs. Sackler, how can we help?"

Margaret checked the time; they were already fifteen minutes late.

Margaret pointed rudely at Paige and told the security, "These people aren't our guests and have crashed our private room. Please escort them out."

Even with security there, Paige stayed calm and collected, clearly not bothered.

The security captain nodded to Margaret. "Yes, ma'am." Then he walked straight over to Paige and said, "Ma'am, please leave."

Paige shot him a cold look. "You work for the hotel, right?"

The security captain was taken aback. "Yeah. What’s your point?"

Paige smirked. "Do you know who owns this hotel?"

The captain looked puzzled, not getting where she was going with this.

Paige slapped the table and called out, "Pearl."

Pearl stepped up. "This hotel is eighty percent owned by the Universe Group. So, technically, your big boss is the Universe Group, right?"

The security team was stunned by Pearl's revelation.

The captain quickly responded, "That's true, but so what? The Universe Group might own the hotel, but these ladies reserved this private room. You’re not their guests."

Pearl's expression darkened. "Mrs. Sackler here begged us to come."

Margaret's face twisted in anger. "What nonsense! When did I invite you? Why would I?"

Paige chuckled. "What if I say you did?"

Xena laughed even harder. "Paige, get out of here before you scare off the important guest I invited."

Paige asked, "What time was the important guest supposed to show up?"

Margaret quickly checked her watch. It was almost half an hour past the agreed time, which was unusual.

Pearl laughed. "Xena, your guest is late. Aren't you worried? Maybe you should call and check. Just in case."

Xena snapped, "What do you mean, 'just in case'?"

Pearl ignored her and turned to the security. "Since you know the hotel's owned by the Universe Group, why rush to act? If you mess with the wrong person, you might lose your job."

The security captain hesitated, feeling a bit insulted, but in Northwind, he never knew when a big shot might show up. It was risky to offend anyone.

The captain calmed down, and Pearl looked back at Xena. "Miss Sackler, make the call and confirm."

Xena retorted, "Why should I call just because you say so?"

Margaret, growing impatient, had no interest in arguing with Paige. She was more worried about Xanthe being half an hour late. Margaret was getting anxious.

She pulled Xena aside. "Xena, don't waste time with them. Let me handle this. You call Xanthe and find out what's going on."

Xena glared at Paige, annoyed by the interference. Then, Xena picked up her phone and dialed Xanthe from the Universe Group.

Meanwhile, the phone in Pearl's hand, which belonged to Xanthe, started ringing.
