Chapter 177 Kicked and Sent Flying

Paige held Luna with one arm, trying to make her feel safe while grabbing Xena's hand with the other.

Xena immediately let go of Luna's arm, which was in pain. "Paige, you're hurting me."

Paige said coldly, "Hurting? You know what pain is? Why are you holding onto Mom when she doesn't want to see you? Get out right now."

Xena refused to leave and screamed like a madwoman, "Who are you to tell me to leave? I'm her real child. If anyone should leave, it's you. She's not your mother. You are just an illegitimate child."

Paige, enraged, kicked Xena so hard that she almost flew.

Xena, clutching her chest where Paige had kicked her, cried and accused Paige, "Who are you to kick me out? Why do I need your permission to see my own mother? Why?"

While Xena cried and complained, Luna trembled in Paige's arms.

Luna kept repeating the word 'poison' while hiding in Paige's embrace. It seemed she had deep psychological scars from Margaret and Xena.

Paige said, "Xena, get out now. Look at what you've done to her. You've already hurt her once. If you keep pushing, she won't survive!"

Xena suddenly stopped crying, thinking, 'What? She won't survive? Is she going to die?'

Xena calmed down instantly, wiped her tears, and quickly said, "I'm also her daughter. Do you think I want to hurt her? Many things are beyond my control."

Since Margaret wasn't here, her insinuations might scare Paige. After all, Xena was young, and Luna was her biological mother. No daughter would harm her own mother.

Xena thought she was just young and following Margaret's orders. She hadn't committed any major wrongs. She was just a poor girl wanting to see her mother.

Xena tried to approach Luna again, but Paige became visibly upset as she got closer. "Stay away from her!"

Her voice was so loud that Luna became even more frightened, trembling more violently.

Suppressing her anger, Paige lowered her voice. "Xena, do you want to kill her?"

Xena took a step back. "Why? She's my mother too. I've spent more time with her than you have. Naturally, she should be closer to me after waking up."

Paige answered, "Don't forget what you've done."

Xena said, "I didn't mean to do it."

Paige looked at Julian. "What are you standing there for? Get her out."

Julian removed Xena and then returned to the room, closing the door behind him.

Xena was left outside and had to go quietly.

However, just as Xena was trying to leave, she ran into some familiar faces.

Amelia and Frederick had discussed allying with Paige after returning home yesterday.

Jim agreed with Amelia's idea and supported her actions. The Smith family indeed needed a high-status partner who could bring hope to the family.

So, early in the morning, Amelia and Frederick went straight to the hospital to visit Luna instead of going to the office. Unexpectedly, they arrived just in time to witness a dramatic scene.

Amelia, holding Frederick's arm, walked over. "What a coincidence. What are you doing here?"

Xena had always sidelined Amelia, but now that she had leverage over Xena, she had nothing to fear.

Xena didn't want to get entangled with Amelia, knowing she had the upper hand."Can't I visit a patient? Does your family own the hospital?" Xena said and was about to leave.

Amelia chuckled. "Yes, actually, this hospital is owned by our family. We're so wealthy and we just invested a bit. You're here to see Ms. Parker, right? Has she finished her check-up? Is she okay?"

Xena replied irritably, "None of your business."

She was about to leave when Frederick pointed at the shoe print on her chest. "Are you alright?"

Xena looked down at the shoe print on her chest and was furious. She bypassed them and left directly.

Amelia held back her laughter until Xena was far away, then burst out laughing. "That shoe print must be from Paige. I quite like her fiery temper. Xena is so arrogant, bullying many daughters from wealthy families in high society.

The Sackler family is old and prestigious, even talking about an engagement with the Carnegies. A lot of people had to put up with her. It's so satisfying to see her get taken down a notch."

The status difference between Amelia and Xena was obvious. Having been bullied often, Amelia was naturally happy to see this.

Frederick advised. "Amelia, don't bother with her. Let's go; we have important matters to attend to. Mrs. Sackler has finished her check-up. Let's go accompany Miss Ellison and wait for the results."

Amelia responded and reminded, "Don't call her Mrs. Sackler, call her Ms. Parker. Didn't you notice that everyone around her calls her Ms. Parker, not Mrs. Sackler?"

As they spoke, Amelia and Frederick were about to knock on the door.

A few doctors in white coats hurriedly approached with a stack of paper reports. They didn't even notice Frederick and Amelia directly knocking on the door.

Amelia glanced at Frederick. "Are the results out? The doctors seem so urgent; could there be a problem?"
