Chapter 210 Do As You Like
Xena snapped, "Didn't you get it? Paige is now the CEO of the Universe Group."
"No way! The CEO of the Universe Group? You gotta be kidding me." Elijah was in total disbelief; the news hit him like a ton of bricks.
Xena's frustration was boiling over. She had been waiting for Paige to fail over and over again, but it never happened. "Why won't she just disappear? How can she be so damn lucky? How did she survive prison? Why did she have to come out alive?"
If Paige wasn't around, Xena would have been Louis's wife by now. Being engaged to the Carnegie family would have brought fame to the Sackler family too. Her life would be completely different.
Seeing Xena getting more and more worked up, Elijah knew just how much she hated Paige. He quickly tried to calm her down. "Don't worry. I'll take care of the online stuff this time. I promise it'll go exactly how you want. I've got online trolls and a bunch of verified accounts ready to go. When the time comes, we'll use these accounts to post stuff, doubling the impact. Just wait and see, the results will blow your mind."
Xena looked at Elijah. "Are you serious?"
Elijah nodded. "Of course I am. Would I lie to you? Relax, I've got this." Xena finally started to calm down.
That evening, Raymond got the press release. After checking it over, everything looked good. So, a few minutes later, Hawke Corporation dropped a press release about the hot topic of Raymond and Paige.
Hawke Corporation openly admitted that Raymond was Ethan's second son and confirmed the buzz about Raymond and Paige being married.
After the official announcement, the internet went wild. All the previous negative news was completely forgotten.
While everyone was buzzing about the press release, the Universe Group dropped another bombshell.
The Universe Group issued a notice titled #Xanthe Has Taken Office, Long-Awaited by All.
This announcement almost broke the internet. Pearl read some of the funniest online comments to Paige and Raymond. They got so into it, they started scrolling through their phones themselves.
Raymond, clearly enjoying himself, suddenly suggested, "Babe, why don't we make an account?"
Paige looked at Raymond, surprised. "Do we really need to?"
Raymond grinned. "Wouldn't it be more fun? Plus, we can interact with people online."
Kimberly chimed in, "Xanthe, actually, both you and Mr. Carnegie should make accounts. In the future, if the group has any announcements, you can promote them. Don't worry, we'll handle the content; you just need to hit post."
After Kimberly's suggestion, Raymond jumped in, "Setting up an account sounds like a great idea, right?"
Paige reluctantly nodded. "Pearl, can you help me with it?"
Pearl responded, "Sure thing." Taking Paige's phone, Pearl quickly registered an account for her. The username was Xanthe, which carried a lot of weight.
While Pearl was setting up Paige's account, Raymond was busy creating his own. He called Charles to get their accounts verified right away.
Soon enough, Paige and Raymond's accounts started racking up followers. Even though they hadn't posted anything yet, their accounts were getting shared all over the place.
Raymond couldn't wait and posted something as soon as his account was verified. Raymond: [First day of publicly showing love to my wife!]
"Xanthe, Mr. Carnegie has posted. Do you want to respond?" Pearl asked.
Paige looked at Pearl and then at Raymond. "Do I need to post something too?" She had been reading comments and hadn't seen what Raymond posted.
Raymond said, "It's up to you." Paige nodded and decided to post something as well.
Paige stared at the edit box, thought for a moment, and finally typed a simple greeting: [Hello everyone, I'm Xanthe.]
After Paige posted, Pearl immediately refreshed her screen and saw Paige's post. Pearl couldn't help but laugh. "Xanthe, did you see what Mr. Carnegie posted?"
Paige shook her head. "Not yet."
Raymond, curious about Paige's post, opened it and saw it was just a greeting, nothing about him. Raymond suggested, "Why don't you check it now?"
Paige opened it and, with a slight smile, said, "Keep up the good work."
Pearl laughed again. "Can I update your sweet daily moments for your fans?"
Paige said, "Do as you like." Raymond added, "Listen to my wife. Whatever she wants, you do it."
With both Paige and Raymond on board, Pearl wasted no time. She quickly sent her newly registered account to Charles, who was handling Raymond's stuff.
Pearl: [Charles, can you verify my account?]
Charles, practically glued to his phone all day, saw Pearl's message right away. He quickly verified her identity.
Pearl's username was straightforward: Ms. Southern. Identity verification: Ms. Southern of the Universe Group.
Pearl posted: [Just witnessed Mr. Carnegie publicly showing love for his wife. Xanthe is truly formidable!]
Pearl's account quickly experienced a surge in followers, with comments and shares skyrocketing.
That night, everything seemed perfect. Meanwhile, Xena was pleased with the public reaction, nodding at the content in front of her. "Elijah, your people did an amazing job."
Elijah said, "Thanks to you for finding the wedding photos. That made it all the more convincing!"
