Chapter 346 Affiliated Family: Paving the Way for Paige

Back at the entrance of Hawke Corporation, Louis looked up at the Hawke Corporation sign for a long time.

The entire building belonged to Hawke Corporation.

Located in the most bustling financial district of Northwind, the top-floor office offered a 360-degree panoramic view, almost encompassing the entire city.

Since returning to the Sackler family to take over family matters, Louis never thought he could come back to Hawke Corporation like this.

Even if he had another chance to approach this building, it would likely be for collaboration, and that would depend on whether he had the qualifications.

Staring at the giant LED screen outside the building, with its flashing advertisements, Louis couldn't help but get distracted.

Those ads were still the ones he had decided to use.

But now, he had no connection with the Carnegie family.

Margaret had already found a way to change his identity information, but it was still in process and not yet fully completed.

For now, he was still under the name Louis Carnegie.

The security guard saw him, greeted him, and respectfully invited him in.

After all, the matters of the Carnegie family were secrets, unknown to the outside world.

When he was once again addressed as Mr. Carnegie, Louis's heart skipped a beat.

The Carnegie family had yet to announce a new CEO or release any news about his resignation or dismissal.

Louis couldn't explain that he was no longer Mr. Carnegie.

Soon, he wouldn't even have the last name Carnegie.

After all, this involved the family secrets of the Carnegie family, and he couldn't say much about it.

Louis went upstairs to the CEO's office.

Raymond had called him over temporarily, and Louis thought it was just to collect his personal belongings from the office, which Louis hadn't taken away before.

The lights in the entire top-floor CEO office were on. Even though all the secretaries and assistants had left, the CEO's office still had a bright and bustling feel.

It was a rhythm Louis was familiar with, unlike the work he had been doing with the Sackler Group recently, which he found hard to adapt to.

However, he had no choice but to learn to adapt and slowly accept it.

Louis looked at the CEO's office and walked over slowly.

For a place he once aimed to conquer, he now felt a kind of fear that kept him from approaching.

But Raymond was still inside waiting for him.

Louis walked over and, for the first time, knocked on the door of the CEO's office.

When the knocking sound echoed, Raymond turned around in the CEO's chair.

Seeing Louis, he said, "Come in. No one knows this office better than you. I don't need to show you around, do I?"

Raymond had also managed Hawke Corporation and held the title of CEO, but his office was temporarily set up in Bradley's office.

Later, when Louis was ready to take charge, he had this office renovated and redecorated.

It could be said that the view from this office was even better than Bradley's.

It was clear that both Bradley and Raymond had always hoped Louis could secure this position.

Louis walked in and stood in front of the desk, his address changing unconsciously, "Mr. Carnegie."

Raymond was a bit surprised.

After all, Louis had adapted quite smoothly.

However, he did not reject the title.

Raymond asked, "Never thought you'd be back in this office?"

Louis replied, "I thought about it, coming in as a project partner. I'm working hard; the Sackler family has many good projects. I believe as long as they bring enough benefits, it will be advantageous for Hawke Corporation."

Hearing Louis say this, Raymond was a bit surprised and looked at him with newfound respect. "Not bad, adapting quickly. No wonder the Carnegie family invested top resources to cultivate your talent."

Louis was surprised. "Talent? Me? I can never compare to you. How can I be considered talent?"

Raymond wasn't being narcissistic; Louis had simply chosen the wrong person to compare himself to!

Raymond said, "Perhaps you should look at all the managers in Northwind around your age or even those within a ten-year range. Or, consider your peers in the international market. Then, you'd have the right comparison."

Louis looked at Raymond.

He wanted to disdain Raymond's narcissism, but it was the truth! So he had nothing to say!

Seeing Louis's exhausted look, Raymond chuckled.

He stood up, placing his hand on the headrest of the chair, and said, "Louis, you know, I never intended to compete with you for this position."

Louis said, "Does that even matter now?"

"Because I have a higher position to aim for." Raymond patted the headrest and continued, "And this position needs someone loyal and capable to fill it. If this position had to go to one of our own, then Paige should be sitting here. However, you should understand that she is already overwhelmed with the Universe Group and can't manage Hawke Corporation as well. And you are still the best candidate for this position!"

Louis looked at Raymond in shock, "What did you say?"

Raymond smied, "Didn't get it? Let me put it another way. This position belongs to Paige! No matter who sits here, from the moment she was confirmed as a Carnegie, she became the true heir of the Carnegie family and the rightful owner of Hawke Corporation! Tonight, I'll be taking Bradley and some people flying directly to Arcadia. I've chosen you to sit in this position for Paige."

Louis was once again stunned by Raymond's words.

"Me?" Louis pointed to his own nose.

They wanted him to take this position?

How could the Carnegie family make such a decision?

Even if Paige didn't want this position and ran away, Raymond would go find her. They could also hire a professional manager to run the company. Why chose him?

Just because he was familiar with the company's operations? Because his abilities were outstanding among his peers?

Raymond nodded slightly, "That's right. I believe you'll quickly get familiar with the work at the Sackler Group. What I'm discussing with you now isn't just about you, but also the future of the Sackler family. Without Paige here, I'm making the decision for her. I want you and the Sackler family to become a subsidiary family to Paige, swearing eternal loyalty to her. I also promise you, you and the Sackler family will maintain your noble status."

Raymond added, "You and your descendants will give her loyalty and service, and she and my descendants will swear to protect you forever. The glory and status of the Carnegie family today will be the glory and status of the Sackler family in the future!"

Louis listened to every word Raymond said clearly.

He knew that in those ancient families, there were subsidiary families passed down through generations.

A subsidiary family was the representative of the ancient family, acting on their behalf in the world.

And such families would choose to remain hidden, with no one knowing the extent of their wealth or much about them. They built vast fortunes and business empires.

On the surface, the subsidiary family appeared to be the rulers, but the true power lay with the hidden family!

Louis never expected Raymond to discuss this with him.

Hearing Raymond say such things, Louis suddenly realized that even though he had grown up in the Carnegie family, he had never truly understood it!

No wonder Raymond never thought of taking his position and gave him opportunities to grow and develop!

But if he were to become the Carnegie family's representative, what was the true nature of the Carnegie family?

And what kind of person was Raymond, who was saying these things?

A deeply hidden feeling made Louis suddenly feel lost!

Louis was smart and quick-witted. "I'm taking Paige's place, originally, Paige should have been the representative. So, Mr. Carnegie, what about you? What is your position?"
