Chapter 397 The Kidnapper Gets Kidnapped
Watching the taillights of Raymond's car, Francesca stood there murmuring to herself, "After planning for so long, is it destined to fail? Paige, do you know how dangerous the road ahead is?"
After speaking to herself, Francesca covered her face and squatted down, quietly sobbing.
The overwhelming feeling of heartache hit her, and the people around her quickly came up to comfort her. "Mrs. Francesca Carnegie, Mr. Raymond Carnegie's car has already left. He took that file to see Mrs. Paige Carnegie. Could there be trouble?"
Francesca composed herself and stood up from the ground. "Don't worry about him. Let's proceed with our own plan."
As soon as Francesca finished speaking, Louis ran out from The Carnegie Estate.
He happened to run into Francesca just as she was about to get into the car.
Louis exclaimed in surprise, "Mom, what are you doing here?"
Francesca knew Louis was coming here, but because of Margaret's kidnapping, Louis hadn't had a chance to see Francesca yet and instead ran into her here.
Seeing Louis running out in a panic, Francesca asked curiously, "Louis, why are you in such a hurry? Did something happen?"
Louis replied, "I came out to find Mr. Carnegie. Sean said he just left."
Francesca said, "He's already gone."
Noticing Francesca's pale face, Louis asked, "Mom, why didn't you come inside when you got back? Why are your eyes red?"
Francesca said, "Raymond took the file about your father's car accident. He thinks I'm the culprit."
Louis was stunned. "Shouldn't it be him?"
Louis had always suspected that the car accident was Raymond's conspiracy, aiming to become the first heir of the Carnegie family.
Although Louis knew Raymond's identity, he didn't think Raymond would harm Gregory just to seize the inheritance.
However, some evidence back then seemed to point to Raymond.
Francesca asked, "Louis, do you know where Paige lives? Can you go over and check on her for me? Raymond took all the files there. I can't go see Paige , but I don't want her to misunderstand that I killed her biological father."
Normally, Louis would have agreed without hesitation.
But at this moment, he had more urgent matters to attend to.
Louis said, "Mom, you know about Margaret's kidnapping. Just now, the kidnappers called for help."
Francesca was confused. "What do you mean, called for help?"
Louis said anxiously, "The kidnappers called for help. It seems something happened to them."
Francesca was stunned. "What? Something happened to the kidnappers?"
Louis nodded. "Yes, something happened to the kidnappers. Mom, I really don't have time right now. I need to find Mr. Carnegie to discuss what to do."
Francesca almost fainted.
Seeing Francesca's condition, Louis quickly supported her. "Mom, are you okay?"
Francesca waved her hand. "No, I'm fine. You go find Raymond. I want to go home and rest."
Recently, Francesca's health seemed to be deteriorating. After helping her into the car, Louis said with concern, "I'll go find Mr. Carnegie now. I'll also talk to him about the files."
Francesca said, "No, no matter what, Margaret is your grandmother. Focus on saving her first. Don't worry about anything else."
The fact that something happened to Margaret's kidnappers gave Francesca a bad feeling. She feared the situation would spiral out of control.
Francesca's car sped away, and Louis's subordinates also brought his car around.
Louis quickly called Raymond. After learning about the situation, Raymond sent some of his men to assist Louis temporarily.
Raymond then hurried back to Paige.
With the sudden incident involving Andrew, Raymond felt that things were connected. Naturally, he went to Paige first to discuss it.
Back at Paige's villa, Raymond heard from Pearl that Paige had gone to see the disfigured man locked in the room after investigating the missing mask from the tech department.
Raymond rushed up with the files.
Paige was still in the room, confronting the disfigured man.
Raymond's entrance broke the tense atmosphere.
Seeing the disfigured man still tied up and Paige unharmed, Raymond breathed a sigh of relief.
Paige looked up at Raymond, her eyes red. Raymond walked over and held her in his arms.
Gently patting Paige's back, he comforted her softly, "Don't worry, I'm back. With me here, everything will be fine."
Paige, being so smart, might have already found some clues, which was why she came to talk to the disfigured man alone.
However, it seemed the result was not good.
She hadn't gotten the answers she wanted; otherwise, she wouldn't still be here.
Paige was enveloped in a sense of abandonment and despondency.
Raymond hadn't expected that before he could confirm anything, Paige had already found some clues and even came over.
In such a short time, her emotions were hurt.
This was probably the cruelest part of her background that she was repeatedly abandoned by her parents' unanimous decision!
No matter how strong one's heart was, it was hard to remain strong in the face of such things.
Raymond held Paige. "You go rest in your room for a while. I'll handle this. If you feel overwhelmed, call Louis."
Paige looked up. "What happened to Louis?"
Raymond said, "Andrew is in trouble. He called for help and then lost contact."
Paige said, "What? Trouble?"
What was Andrew up to?
He had just threatened her, organized a banquet, and now he was in trouble?
With Margaret as leverage, Paige really didn't know how big of a mess this would turn into.
Paige frowned and glanced at the disfigured man.
She saw a fleeting, unreadable emotion in his eyes, but it quickly disappeared.
Paige couldn't worry about this side for now.
Paige said, "I'll leave this to you."
With that, Paige composed herself.
It was not the time for sorrow now. Being abandoned wasn't new to her.
If she didn't find a way to defuse the ticking time bomb that was Andrew, it might really blow up in her face.
She had risked her life to escape from the island prison and come so far. The only identity she could rely on in this world now was Xanthe Ellison!
She couldn't lose this identity.
