Chapter 342 Mr. Carnegie Called in a Cargo Plane
Bradley spoke up, "I heard you packed your bags. Are you leaving?"
Francesca lowered her head and nodded. "I can no longer stay in this house. I feel guilty towards you, and I can't get along with Raymond. Seeing him is like seeing my own sins."
Bradley's mouth twitched, "Sins? That's a bit much, isn't it? Actually, it's not necessarily a bad thing."
However, Raymond's intention was to let Francesca suffer on her own and not tell her.
Bradley said, "Originally, I wasn't involved in the company's affairs anymore, but I recently looked into it. Louis has already called a lawyer and transferred all his shares to your name. Now, you are the major shareholder of the group."
Hearing this, Francesca looked up and said, "I never intended to keep these shares for myself. Paige is Gregory's and my child; she should inherit them. I..."
Bradley interrupted Francesca, "I didn't say anything about that. Since Paige is the Carnegie family's child, naturally, Hawke Corporation should be hers to inherit. The shares in your name include your own portion that you inherited from Gregory and the portion that originally belonged to Paige. Plus, the shares you've painstakingly collected over the years. I don't intend to take them back from you, nor do I want to take them for Raymond. These can be given to Paige in the future."
Francesca looked at Bradley, wondering if he still trusted her. "Bradley, aren't you afraid I'll..."
Bradley interrupted her. "This is also Raymond's idea. Additionally, I hope you can take out an eight percent share from your current holdings. Hawke Corporation needs a new CEO!"
Francesca said, "Alright, I agree. But do you already have a new CEO candidate?"
Bradley replied, "Raymond has already made his decision."
Bradley couldn't directly reveal the truth, as this was Raymond's intention. However, he had hinted enough.
Francesca was indeed very smart. She was momentarily stunned and asked, "Shouldn't this be a decision for you?"
Bradley felt gratified that she caught on so quickly!
If he could decide the major affairs of the Carnegie family, he wouldn't have given Louis and Francesca so much time to wait for Louis to grow up.
Bradley didn't directly answer Francesca's question but instead asked, "Where do you plan to go? Additionally, the Carnegie family has some properties in other countries. You can choose a place you like to relax."
Francesca wasn't foolish. If Raymond couldn't find Paige in Northwind, she must have already left Northwind.
Besides Northwind, the Universe Group in Arcadia was the most unstable. Paige couldn't return to the Sackler family as a Sackler, and she probably wouldn't want to return to the Carnegie family as a Carnegie either.
The only identity she could use was Xanthe Ellison. She was capable and definitely wouldn't let the Universe Group in Arcadia be split up.
Apart from Arcadia, there was Dominia.
The Universe Group's headquarters were in Dominia.
The only places she could go were Arcadia or Dominia. Francesca knew that with her current strength, going to Dominia could be life-threatening. She could only try her luck in Arcadia, partly for her Plan B and partly to find Paige.
Coincidentally, the Carnegie family also had some influence in Arcadia. Francesca knew that although Raymond held more real power in this area, there were some resources she could still utilize as a member of the Carnegie family.
Francesca said, "I'm planning to go to Arcadia. I want to stay in the house Gregory gave me before he passed away."
Bradley nodded, "Go ahead, take a good rest. If you find Paige, tell her that the Carnegie family will always be her support and she is always welcome to come home."
Francesca nodded.
Francesca departed quickly, taking a plane to Arcadia that very night.
Within Hawke Corporation, there were no major changes for the time being. However, there were rumors that Mrs. Carnegie of the Carnegie family had suddenly fallen ill and gone abroad for treatment, and that Louis, disheartened, had submitted his resignation.
Raymond, who was expected to take over, did not assume the position, leaving the CEO role vacant.
Meanwhile, in Arcadia.
From the moment Paige landed, she was either eating, sleeping, or busy working.
The people at the Universe Group were unaware of her presence, and she hadn't shown up at the Universe Group.
Instead, she stayed in a private residence, focusing on her pregnancy and work, as if everything that happened in Northwind was just a dream.
When she woke from that dream, she resumed her daily life, never mentioning Raymond or anyone from the Carnegie family.
But every night, in a place where no one could see, Paige would turn over, instinctively reaching out to embrace someone, only to find emptiness, and she would wake up with tears soaking her pillow.
She would sit up, wipe away her tears, and almost hypnotize herself to fall back asleep.
Paige would never let anyone know about this.
Before her pregnancy, on such nights, she would stay awake after waking up. But after becoming pregnant, no matter how hard it was to sleep, Paige forced herself to rest.
Despite her fragmented sleep, she would still get up as usual the next morning.
Pearl was more dedicated than ever. When Paige got up on time, Pearl would be waiting at her door.
Locas was still in Northwind, and Paige's pregnancy was being managed by a professional team hired by Pearl.
Before eating, Pearl made sure Paige took her Tocolytic supplements.
As they descended the stairs, Pearl walked beside Paige, reporting on various matters.
Pearl was proficient in her duties, reporting without opening her tablet, "The Universe Group's Northwind branch is operating as usual. Here in Arcadia, Andrew's actions are becoming more frequent. Additionally, we've received news that Mrs. Carnegie, whom you don't want to see, is flying over. And Mr. Carnegie, whom you don't want to mention, has arranged for a cargo plane, as if planning to move."
Using a cargo plane instead of a small private jet, how much stuff were they planning to bring?
Pearl knew these people shouldn't be mentioned, but seeing that they seemed to be heading to Arcadia, she had to bring it up to make Paige prepare mentally.
However, after Pearl finished speaking, Paige's pace remained steady. It was only after a dozen seconds that she spoke. "Pearl, how is my bait doing? I remember the first thing I did after landing was to recall my bait. Why haven't they reported to me yet?"
Pearl looked at Paige in astonishment.
She didn't care at all about the people flying over from Northwind?
Pearl was stunned for a few seconds, then quickly responded, "Ms. Morgan has replied. She will personally report to you tonight."
Paige said, "Warn her in advance that it's time for her periodic antidote. If she has no information about her backer, I might reduce the dosage a bit due to my bad mood, and she will suffer for it!"
