Chapter 323 The Third Generation Heir
Raymond completely ignored Francesca's words; he was more worried about Paige's situation now.
He had never been a father, and the few times he noticed Paige vomiting, he never thought in that direction.
After all, Paige had been through a lot recently.
Her emotions were volatile, and she was under a lot of mental stress. Coupled with not eating well, when Paige said her stomach was uncomfortable, Raymond tried his best to help her with her diet.
But unexpectedly, with Francesca's reminder, Raymond thought about it and felt it was a possibility.
Extreme joy clashed with a difficult decision. But right now, the most important thing was that Paige had run out alone, and Raymond was worried about her safety.
Raymond immediately turned to Locas. "How do we open this door?"
Locas stepped forward and shook his head. "This lock was designed by Paige. She locked it from the outside; none of us can open it."
Hearing this, Raymond didn't ask further and immediately called for outside help.
Amelia was also anxious. "In this situation, will Ms. Ellison running out like this cause any problems? Is there no other way to open it? How do we get out?"
Locas spread his hands, feeling helpless.
Technology wasn't his field of research.
However, Locas suddenly thought of something and said immediately. "Ms. Southern has a brother named Cecil. He can definitely open it. Can you contact him?"
Amelia often hung out with Pearl and others, so Locas placed his hope on her.
Sure enough, Amelia had the contact information.
Without wasting words, Amelia directly contacted Cecil. Although he had social anxiety, he was somewhat familiar with Amelia, so he answered the call.
After briefly explaining the situation to Cecil, he agreed to come over immediately to help unlock the door.
Amelia saw that Raymond was also on the phone constantly and didn't dare to disturb him.
Francesca was wiping her tears repeatedly but was also on the phone arranging for someone to follow Paige.
However, Amelia knew that if Paige didn't want to be followed, it would be hard for anyone to keep up with her speed.
Only Louis had not yet recovered.
Given Louis's state, it was clear that Paige's situation wasn't good at all.
Amelia glanced at Louis a few times but didn't have time to comfort him. She picked up the phone and continued calling Pearl.
Paige had run out alone, and no one knew what was going on. Pearl was one of the closest people to Paige. Moreover, Amelia knew that Pearl's team was responsible for Paige.
When Pearl received the call, she already knew the situation because Julian had seen Paige run out of the lab in tears and drive away alone.
Although Julian didn't know what had happened in the lab, he followed Paige immediately after she left.
Hearing Pearl's response, Amelia felt a bit relieved.
After hanging up, she said, "Julian is already following Ms. Ellison, so her safety should be fine."
Raymond also hung up the phone and said, "Charles has already activated Northwind's highest level of security measures to protect my wife, so there's no need to worry!"
At this moment, Raymond still referred to Paige as his "wife."
The word "wife" from Raymond's mouth angered Francesca, and she turned to glare at him. "Raymond, are you still calling her 'wife' at this moment? She is your niece. Why can't you let her go?"
Raymond glanced at the door, realizing it wouldn't open anytime soon.
Raymond said, "Since you're here, although you've done a DNA test, I hope you agree to collect another DNA sample in front of all of us. I need a result that I can trust. Also, I don't mean anything else, but I need to know, is Paige your daughter and also my brother Gregory Carnegie's daughter?"
Francesca looked up, glaring at Raymond. "What do you mean by that? I've already admitted it, and you can do the DNA test anytime."
With that, Francesca pulled out a hair with a follicle and handed it to Locas.
At Raymond's signal, Locas took it and immediately went into the lab.
He had Paige's DNA data stored and just needed to compare it with Francesca's, which wouldn't take much time.
Francesca looked back at Raymond. "Paige is my daughter and naturally Gregory's daughter. Are you insulting my character by asking if Paige is Gregory's daughter?"
Raymond retorted, "Francesca, you misunderstood. I didn't mean that. Maybe because Gregory has passed away, you always say Paige is your daughter, so I..."
Before Raymond could finish, Francesca interrupted. "Are you hoping that my low character means I had Paige with another man? If so, you can bringBradley out and do a test to see if Paige is his granddaughter."
Raymond had nothing to say, and Francesca was very emotional, so nothing could be discussed at the moment.
But one thing was certain. Paige's identity was almost confirmed.
She was the third-generation heir of the Carnegie family and the orphan of Gregory Carnegie.
Raymond had never doubted Louis's lineage before, thinking he was the next heir of the Carnegie family.
He had wronged himself by sitting in a wheelchair for years, giving Louis time to grow.
Unexpectedly, the true heir of the Carnegie family had suffered so much outside.
Taking a deep breath, Raymond said seriously. "If Paige is pregnant, are you planning to make her have an abortion?"
Francesca's attitude made Raymond unable to doubt she was joking about Paige's identity.
But the most important thing now was that Paige might be pregnant.
And Francesca's attitude worried Raymond.
Everyone present understood from Raymond's words that if Paige was pregnant, he wanted the child.
Not only Francesca but even Amelia gasped.
Sure enough, the next second, Francesca firmly said. "I will do whatever it takes to ensure Paige's life is not ruined!"
