Chapter 292 Dangerous Invitation

On the bed, Paige was motionless.

Raymond approached and found that Paige had already fallen asleep.

His heightened emotions, the unbearable heat all over his body, and the long-standing desire.

Raymond took a deep breath, thinking, 'Paige must not have done this on purpose!'

The room was filled with perfume, the lights were dimmed, and scented candles were lit, creating a beautiful atmosphere. How could this be intentional?

But Paige was indeed asleep, there was no doubt about that.

Raymond felt wronged. He had just taken a quick shower, and when he came out, Paige was already asleep.

The key was that Raymond couldn't bear to wake Paige up.

Even when he went to lie on the bed, he was very careful, moving gently and quietly.

Raymond slipped under the covers and lay beside Paige. He was not sleepy, while Paige, feeling the warmth of his body, snuggled closer.

Paige was rarely sleeping so soundly, so Raymond endured it, wanting her to sleep well.

However, Raymond himself was suffering.

The whole night, Raymond was in a daze, drifting between dreams and wakefulness, with all sorts of erotic images in his mind.

Paige occasionally rubbed against Raymond, making it impossible for him to sleep peacefully.

Until the latter half of the night, Paige, still half-asleep, felt the warmth and changes in Raymond's body, which stirred her emotions even in her dreams.

The two of them, in a half-dream, half-awake state, began to make love.

When they were fully awake, they found it somewhat amusing.

Paige blushed and apologized with a shy smile, "Sorry, I don't know how I fell asleep."

Raymond said, "You've been too tired lately. Nobody can withstand such exhaustion. If I could, I would take over your work so you could rest."

Paige said, "After these few days, we'll go to the border. That will be a break."

Raymond felt sorry for Paige. That wasn't a break; it was going for revenge. How could one rest well during revenge?

Actually, without Paige saying it, Raymond knew she had a lot of work to do.

Resting was impossible, and Raymond always felt that Paige's identity was a ticking time bomb, not knowing when it would explode.

He was the only one who had seen Paige's prison records and identity transformation documents.

So, Raymond couldn't stop Paige from working hard.

She had to strive for more resources, lay a foundation for herself, and become the irreplaceable Ms. Ellison. If her identity were ever exposed, she would have better odds.

After having sex, Raymond finally managed to sleep peacefully.

But the next morning, Paige woke up with a sore waist, feeling a bit uncomfortable.

She was starting to feel tired again.

However, the symptoms of her cold were gone, possibly just due to physical and mental exhaustion.

Despite several days of work and a harmonious sex life, Paige didn't show much fatigue.

In the blink of an eye, half a month had passed, and under Raymond's various protections, Paige had spent most of it peacefully.

As the departure date for the border approached, Paige's work was almost done.

Her subordinates were capable, and she was exceptional, completing the workload of fifteen days in just ten.

The remaining five days were free for Paige to arrange.

She didn't want to stress her subordinates too much, as everyone needed a balance between work and rest.

So, without increasing the workload, even Pearl had some leisure time.

Pearl finally had the chance to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Previously, coffee was just for staying awake.

Now, stirring the coffee in her hand, she was truly enjoying life.

Pearl couldn't help but sigh, "Ms. Ellison is amazing. She led us to complete half a month's work in ten days, and now we can rest."

Kimberly said, "Ms. Ellison is sending me on a business trip to Arcadia in a few days."

Pearl said, "While you're on the trip, Ms. Ellison will take Julian and me to the border to pick up Xena."

Kimberly glanced at Cecil, who was always silent, hugging his computer. As long as he had his computer and food, he could completely shut out the outside world and not interact with anyone.

His computer was his entire world.

Kimberly asked, "You guys are going together. How about I take Cecil with me? It would be boring to travel alone."

Pearl reminded, "Don't forget, the Universe Group's branch in Arcadia is Andrew's territory. He's ambitious, so be cautious. Don't drag Cecil into trouble; let him stay here."

Amelia immediately looked up, "Is that the Andrew who attended the Hawke Corporation's anniversary? Ambitious? I remember he seemed very respectful to Ms. Ellison."

Pearl said, "Respectful? That's just on the surface. A few years ago, the group had no CEO or heir, and the CEOs of several branches were all trying to take over the company. Andrew was the most aggressive among them."

Amelia said, "Ms. Ellison is already in the spotlight, and these people are still restless?"

Pearl explained, "It's not that easy to give up. People like Andrew have been plotting for years. Before, only the four of us knew about Ms. Ellison's return. The others didn't even know the Universe Group had an heir. So they kept plotting. Now that Ms. Ellison is back and rightfully in her position, there are still many who want her out."

Amelia asked, "So, there might be trouble in the future?"

Pearl replied, "There's always trouble. Otherwise, Ms. Ellison wouldn't be so busy. It's just that these people haven't found an opportunity yet. Otherwise, we wouldn't even have these quiet days."

Kimberly said, "One day, we'll subdue those who can be used and replace those who can't. Then, when the Universe Group's power is fully centralized, we'll have peaceful days."

Kimberly's work pressure was also high. Among them, he and Pearl had the most work.

The more unstable the internal situation, the more work Kimberly had.

Amelia said, "No matter what happens in the future, we'll be able to go on a trip in a few days. I really want to go out quickly; otherwise, staying at home, I'll become an unfilial daughter."

Pearl took a sip of coffee and laughed, "Mr. Smith hasn't given up yet? And you, after so many dates, haven't you found anyone you like?"

Amelia said, "I'm still young, and I haven't found the right one. Can't I have a few more years of fun? Besides, the Smith family is steadily rising, and with the Universe Group as a strong backing, why rush me into marriage?"

Amelia had actually met quite a few elites recently, as those men were carefully selected by the Smith family for her.

But Amelia just didn't like any of them.

As they were talking, Paige walked out of the office and saw them relaxing.

She smiled and said, "I'm leaving work early today. I have an appointment. You guys can arrange things yourselves."

Julian instinctively put down his coffee and stood up, following Paige.

After all, his job was to go wherever Paige went.

Paige left the Universe Group and drove straight to Carnegie Manor.

She knew that Raymond had already met with Bradley and told him that she would be taking revenge on Francesca.

And Bradley had more or less given his tacit approval, knowing that Paige needed to resolve this grudge.

Having finished her work early, Paige directly invited Francesca to Carnegie Manor for dinner.

Paige wanted to make sure Francesca couldn't refuse her invitation in front of Bradley.

What Paige didn't know was that Francesca had been trying to get close to her recently. There was no need to worry about Francesca refusing.

Not wanting to make things difficult for Raymond, Paige came over early, planning to deal with Francesca first and then inform Raymond.

Francesca hadn't been back to Carnegie Manor for a while, as she had been focusing all her energy on getting close to Paige and trying to sabotage Raymond and Paige's marriage.

In fact, Francesca had found a way, but she hadn't put it into action yet.

Hearing that Paige had invited the family to see Bradley, Francesca arrived at Carnegie Manor even earlier than Paige, afraid of missing out.

Not only did she arrive early, but she also waited outside to greet Paige.

As soon as Paige's car entered the gate, Francesca put on a smile. "Paige, not busy with work today?"

Francesca even stepped forward to help Paige open the car door.

Paige didn't know what Francesca was plotting, but she found her behavior strange lately. "Francesca, maybe you should call me Ms. Ellison."

In other words, Francesca wasn't worthy of calling her Paige.

Francesca smiled awkwardly, "Okay. You've been busy lately, right? I've tried to visit several times, but Raymond turned me away."

Paige looked at Francesca. Raymond hadn't mentioned this to her.

But Raymond probably didn't want Francesca at their home, knowing that Paige still had unresolved hatred and was planning revenge. He wouldn't want any conflicts to arise before they went to the border.

As Paige walked inside, she looked for Bradley.

Bradley was already in the living room, personally making coffee.

Seeing Paige, he smiled and called her over to sit. "Paige, come and try this new coffee I bought."

He then poured a cup for Paige himself.

Paige took the cup and smelled the coffee aroma, "It smells wonderful. This good coffee can only show its best qualities in your hands."

Bradley loved how Paige could appreciate things. "Paige always knows how to appreciate."

He then poured a cup for Francesca as well, not showing favoritism.

Francesca took it, "Thanks." She then lowered her head to drink the coffee, her expression slightly unnatural.

Paige glanced at the time and got straight to the point, "I've had some free time lately and want to go on a trip to relax. Francesca, you seem to have some free time too. How about joining me?"

Paige blew on the coffee foam and took a sip.

Francesca looked up at Paige immediately upon hearing this. "A trip? That sounds great. I've been thinking about getting away too. It's perfect timing. Paige, where do you want to go? It would be wonderful to go together."

Paige didn't expect Francesca to agree so readily.

She looked at Francesca warily and smiled faintly, "Aren't you afraid something might happen if you go with me?"

Francesca said, "I've never thought you would harm me."

Paige said, "That's not certain. After all, we have left things undone between us."

Bradley sat there, listening to Paige and Francesca's conversation, drinking his coffee quietly, not daring to intervene.

Francesca said, "Paige, you know that Luna's death was caused by Xena. I've never thought of doing anything to her. Maybe it was all just a coincidence."

Paige put down her cup and looked at Francesca leisurely. "I've already bought the tickets, including yours and Louis's. We're leaving tomorrow. How about it?"

Paige didn't want to discuss this topic with Francesca.

She had already planned to leave early. No matter how Francesca argued, it didn't matter.

What mattered was taking Francesca to confront Xena, where the truth would come out.

Because of this, Paige hadn't tried to get any information out of Francesca recently, knowing she wouldn't say anything. Paige didn't want to waste time.

Francesca said "Tomorrow? Isn't that a bit rushed? And do we have to bring Louis? He's been quite busy with work lately."

If possible, Francesca wanted to use this trip to make Paige and Raymond divorce.

But she didn't expect Paige to want Louis to come along.

However, Francesca thought that if Louis went, it would give her more opportunities to interact with Paige.
