Chapter 331 Is It to Fight for Inheritance?

Margaret saw how eager Paige was to know and thought she was missing her father, so she directly instructed the servant to fetch the item. "Go to Paige's room and bring down the box from the nightstand."

Paige stood up. "No need, I'll go look myself."

Margaret also stood up. "I'll go with you."

With that, Margaret accompanied Paige upstairs. The room was next to the one Luna used to stay in. The Sackler family didn't have many members, so the room had always been vacant. Now, Margaret had it redecorated for Paige.

Paige stepped into the room, her attention entirely on the box left by Mr. Sackler, barely noticing the room's furnishings and decor.

Margaret had already mentioned that the box was in the nightstand. Paige walked over and pointed to one of the nightstands. "Is it this one?"

Margaret nodded. "Yes."

Paige took the box out of the nightstand, opened it, and lifted the velvet cloth on top, revealing the contents inside.

Paige looked at the items in the box, then at Margaret.

Margaret said, "Your father seemed careless, but he was actually the most meticulous. He kept your baby hair and baby teeth. I found these things while sorting through your mother's belongings. However, it looks like the baby hair has been tampered with. When I was organizing, I noticed a lot was missing."

Margaret's words immediately made Paige alert.

She examined the baby hair in the box. Although it was baby hair, the quality was good. Judging by the hair's quality, it was clear there was a lot of it.

One side was very messy, as if a lot had been taken. The other side was neatly organized and seemed untouched.

Paige suddenly understood. Xena must have stolen the hair for a DNA test. Otherwise, if Xena had really gotten Paige's hair, she wouldn't have unexpectedly become the Sackler family's heiress for so many years.

No need to ask, the baby hair and teeth in this box were not Paige's but Louis's, which meant that she and Louis were not mistakenly switched but deliberately swapped.

Mr. Sackler knew and was one of the people who swapped the children.

He didn't tell Luna the truth, and even after the swap, he knew about Louis's life. He kept Louis's baby teeth and hair as mementos!

Paige held the items and collapsed onto the sofa by the bed, feeling utterly powerless.

She was deeply saddened.

She and Louis were swapped, Mr. Sackler knew, and Francesca always knew Louis wasn't her biological son.

So, was it Francesca and Mr. Sackler's scheme?

Did they know each other long ago?

Francesca knew she was carrying a girl and didn't want her, so she swapped for the Sackler family's boy to have a son to fight for the Carnegie family's inheritance?

After all, given the Carnegie family's situation at the time, if she didn't have a son, the inheritance might have gone to Raymond.

So, was this the truth?

Paige's mind was suddenly very confused. Then there was the car accident, the one involving Mr. Sackler and Gregory, and Raymond also lost his leg in a car accident.

Looking at it now, it all seemed too coincidental.
