Chapter 165 Revenge

Margaret and Xena saw the woman on the bed losing it, screaming like a total maniac. They almost didn't recognize her as Luna and took a few steps back.

Paige was also kinda freaked out. "Mom, chill. I'm here. What's up? Don't you wanna see them?"

Paige shot a look at Margaret and Xena, frowned, and said, "You two, get out. Don't hang around here. Come back when she's calmed down a bit."

As soon as Paige said that, they snapped out of it and quickly walked out.

After Margaret and Xena left, Paige gently patted Luna's back and softly comforted her. "It's okay. They're gone now. Don't be scared. I'm here with you."

Pearl suddenly had a thought and said, "Xanthe, do you think Luna's reaction means she's not just unwilling to see them but actually scared of them?"

Pearl's words reminded Paige.

After all, she had seen the scene five years ago when Luna was pushed down the stairs by Xena and almost died.

Once Luna had calmed down a bit, Paige asked her again, "Mom, you don't wanna see her, do you?"

Luna, with tears in her eyes, looked deeply hurt.

Paige got it and, after a few comforting words, decided to go and kick the two out.

Margaret and Xena were pacing nervously in the living room, scared Luna might spill something.

Seeing Paige approach, Margaret quickly spoke up again, "What's going on? How come she couldn't even recognize us?"

Paige's eyes turned cold, and she said sternly, "Don't forget why she ended up like this in the first place. If her treatment keeps improving, you're safe for now. But if she never recovers, you won't get away with it. For every day of these five years, I'll make you pay—with interest!"

After saying this, Paige shouted towards the door. "See the guests out."

Margaret grabbed Xena's hand and quickly ran out of Willow Crest Estate.

Once in the car, she ordered the driver to take them home. It was only then that the dazed Xena suddenly spoke up, "Grandma, was that my mom? How did she end up like that? It's terrifying. Why was she screaming and clinging to Paige when she saw us? Has she gone mad? Is this my fault because I pushed her down the stairs? Did I do something wrong? She's my mom, and she looked so crazy."

Seeing Xena so scared, Margaret could only comfort her. "Don't worry, it's not your fault. You did push her, but it wasn't on purpose, right? We treated her head injury five years ago. Her current state can't be because of you. She's been in a coma for five years, and Paige had woken her up without proper medical support. She was bound to have serious consequences. When Paige took Luna away, she let go of our whole medical team. She should've seen this coming."

To comfort Xena, Margaret said whatever she could.

Xena was so freaked out that she couldn't handle seeing Luna like that.

Only Margaret could comfort her. Anyone else could probably see through Xena's act.

Xena looked like she was about to cry, seemingly very remorseful, and Margaret kept comforting her. But even the driver in front could see Xena's fake tears.

Of course, the driver didn't dare to speak up.

Back at Willow Crest Estate, Paige returned to the room where Luna had calmed down, with Pearl taking care of her.

When Paige approached, Luna still clung to her.

Paige had no choice but to apologize, "I'm sorry, Mom. I misunderstood you."

Just as Paige finished speaking, someone came to report. "Xanthe, there's a car honking outside. We haven't seen the car before, and the people inside haven't shown their faces."

Paige said, "If we don't know who it is, how can we let them in?"

After hearing this, the person downstairs understood, ready to send the visitors away. At that moment, Paige's phone suddenly rang.
