Chapter 196 Small Wedding
Paige sneered, "You really love sticking your nose in, don't you?"
Amelia chimed in, "Aren't you two still technically married? That woman must be a real piece of work, throwing a wedding with Raymond now. If you don't want to go, Pearl and I can crash it."
Paige raised an eyebrow. "Are you planning to stir up trouble with Pearl?"
Amelia grinned. "Relax, I've got it all figured out."
Paige suddenly blurted, "You know, you and Louis would make a great couple."
Amelia was caught off guard, her cheeks flushing.
Paige continued seriously, "If you like Louis, you should go for it. He's still single."
In the past, Amelia might have jumped at the chance. But now, she was more cautious.
The weekend rolled around quickly. Amelia waved the wedding invite in front of Paige, giving Pearl a knowing look. "Pearl, don't you want to come with me and see the drama unfold? This invite is too pretty to waste."
Pearl looked at Paige, unsure if she should go without her okay. After Amelia's persistent nudging, Paige finally said, "Do what you want. I'm not stopping you."
Hearing that, Amelia grinned. "Pearl, she said it's fine. Let's go."
With Paige's nonchalant approval, Pearl followed Amelia to the wedding, invite in hand. Dressed to the nines, they headed out with their bodyguards.
Once they left, Paige opened the hospital room door. Luna lay there, hooked up to a ventilator, her condition worsening.
The room was staffed with top-notch medical professionals, keeping a close eye on Luna 24/7. Paige had recently barred all visitors to ensure Luna wasn't disturbed.
As Paige walked in, the medical staff stood up. "Miss Ellison."
Paige nodded. "I've got to step out for a bit. Let me know if anything changes."
Feeling confident in the staff, Paige left the hospital and drove her sports car straight to Willow Crest Estate. On a day like this, she needed to make a statement.
Meanwhile, at the wedding venue.Lily, the heir to a conglomerate, knew how to throw money around and live it up.
Raymond didn't put any limits on Lily's spending for the wedding, so she planned an extravagant and stunning small wedding in just a few days.
The flowers were flown in, fresh and gorgeous, and naturally, very pricey. But for Raymond, it was just pocket change.
The wedding was set at a private estate, not owned by the Carnegie family, but well-kept and often used by the elite for weddings.
Lily initially wanted the wedding at the Carnegie House to flaunt her status as Raymond's wife. But Raymond shot that down, with Ethan firmly opposing it.
Ethan was so against it, he refused to attend the wedding. He was still trying to stop Raymond and Paige's divorce. No matter what Raymond and Lily did, Ethan still saw Paige as his daughter-in-law since the divorce wasn't finalized.
Amelia and Pearl arrived at the wedding, showing their invite to get in. They marveled at the decorations as they walked through.
"They really went all out. Are these lilies? I know some high-end weddings use lilies for the bride's bouquet. Didn't expect Raymond to be this generous, lining the entrance with them." Amelia had seen her fair share of luxury.
Pearl frowned. "It's really nice." The fancier the decorations, the more Pearl felt Raymond had wronged Paige.
Their secret marriage had never been public, let alone celebrated with a wedding. Now, with the divorce still pending, throwing such a lavish wedding was a slap in Paige's face.
Amelia was still in awe of the wedding's opulence. Pearl fumed. "Raymond is a jerk. He can't recognize Xanthe's status? He's clearly doing this to humiliate her."
Amelia asked, " So he knows she's the CEO of Universe Group?"
Pearl nodded. "He should."
Amelia's jaw dropped. "We should totally crash this wedding. If it goes off without a hitch, Northwind will be in chaos, and the Hawke Corporation and Universe Group will be at each other's throats, making a lot of people suffer!"
Pearl glanced at Amelia. "How do we crash it?"
Amelia's eyes sparkled. "Don't worry, the show's about to start!"
