Chapter 282 Francesca is a Mystery
Pearl's heart trembled slightly. She had never seen Paige wear this necklace before; it was clear that Paige had just found it.
Although it couldn't compare to those expensive jewels, the diamond was very clean and quite rare. She knew that this necklace was extremely precious to both Luna and Paige.
"So meaningful. The diamond is beautiful."
Paige thanked her, "Thank you. She has good taste."
Pearl didn't ask how the necklace, which she had never seen before, suddenly ended up in Paige's hands. After a few words, she began to report on her work.
Last night, Pearl worked overtime and slept at the office, resulting in numerous work progress issues that needed to be reported to Paige.
They were busy all morning, with Kimberly frequently coming in and out. Only Julian seemed particularly idle whenever Paige was in the office, as he had nothing else to do.
Lunch was personally delivered by Raymond as usual. Since getting married, Raymond's culinary knowledge had become increasingly rich. His ability to direct others had also improved and his skill in researching recipes had also advanced, so the meals he brought to Paige always looked appetizing and tasted delicious.
Pearl was one of the beneficiaries. Despite having a chef at home, Raymond still wanted to bring food to the office and would bring extra.
The food he brought was enough not only for Raymond and Paige but also for Pearl, Kimberly, and Julian.
While Paige and Raymond were having the meal, they also noticed the necklace around Paige's neck.
"Why haven't I seen you wear this necklace before?"
Paige replied, "My mom prepared it for my eighteenth birthday, but Xena took it. I went to the hospital this morning and happened to meet Mrs. Sackler, so I asked her for it."
Paige said this very calmly, but Raymond paused with his fork. Raymond could tell at a glance that the diamond was small and rare.
It indicating that when Luna bought this diamond, she didn't have a large budget. Of course, it might also have been for the sake of modesty, given Paige's awkward status at the time.
The diamond, being of exceptional quality, clearly demonstrated the considerable thought Luna had put into it.
But such a gift had taken nearly six years to get into Paige's hands. The Sackler Family was simply outrageous!
Raymond didn't speak, but his face grew increasingly grim, which Paige naturally noticed. She understood that Raymond felt sorry for her.
Paige smiled, "I'm already very happy to have it back." She touched the necklace with her hand and continued, "This is the only thing I've been able to get over the years, and I like it."
Raymond gradually suppressed his anger and frustration. No matter how angry he was, the Sackler Family was what it was now, and Xena had fallen into Paige's hands.
After lunch, Raymond stayed in Paige's office for a cup of coffee before leaving. After leaving the Universe Group, Raymond had someone send the food containers back to Willow Crest Estate and had Charles drive him directly to Francesca's place.
Today, Louis didn't go to work, and Francesca hadn't answered her phone in a long time.
Raymond had asked Philip and heard that Francesca seemed to have some issues. Originally, Raymond planned not to contact Louis recently.
But today, Paige happened to go to the hospital and then back to the Sackler Family. Raymond coincidentally heard that Francesca seemed to be in trouble, so he had to show up.
Due to Francesca's connection to Luna's death, Raymond had been keeping a closer eye on her lately.
Francesca, as a top socialite in Northwind's high society, didn't actually like to be in the spotlight. Philip was probably satisfied with her because she was steady and gracious.
Usually, Francesca stayed at home and rarely socialized. She didn't handle any business but did a lot for Louis. She rarely used the Carnegie Family's influence, making it seem like she had no power.
But the people Francesca used last time in the hospital, Raymond still hadn't tracked down. This puzzled Raymond.
Unless Francesca temporarily hired some thugs, but their speed and decisiveness were clearly different from thugs.
But if Francesca had hired very skilled people, Raymond should have easily found out. Yet, Raymond hadn't! This was the suspicious point.
It was very smart for Francesca that she didn't even use the Carnegie Family's people.
Raymond planned to probe Francesca about these issues later. At this moment, the car arrived at Francesca's villa. As the car entered, someone went inside to inform Louis.
Louis was sitting in the living room. When Raymond entered, he saw many people hurrying in and out, all with somber expressions. It was unclear what had happened.
