Chapter 355 A Man Who Spoils His Wife

Just those words "He's here" were enough to shatter the defenses Paige had painstakingly built.

The other party hadn't said a word or shown up, yet she was already defeated.

Pearl immediately realized who Paige meant by "he's here."

Pearl said, "How did he come so quickly? These dishes..."

Pearl suddenly realized that these dishes weren't made in their own kitchen.

Thinking back to Paige's daily meals after Luna's death and comparing them to these, she immediately understood.

Only Cecil was still clueless and asked naively, "Who's here? Are these dishes poisoned? Is someone trying to harm us?"

Pearl gritted her teeth, clenched her fists, and gave Cecil a sideways glance. Cecil knew from Pearl's look that it was time to shut up.

Kimberly and Julian naturally knew who it was too.

Julian couldn't help but ask, "How did he come so quickly? Didn't he not know our whereabouts? How did he know as soon as we showed up at the company today?"

Paige said, "Let's eat. We still have work to do this afternoon and evening. Don't waste time."

After all, Raymond would come sooner or later.

He would also find out her whereabouts sooner or later.

Whether he came early or late, what difference did it make?

The most important thing was that the food wasn't poisoned; it was just normal food.

Seeing Paige so calm, Pearl and the others felt a strange sense of heartache.

But Paige sat down, picked up forksand started eating.

The familiar taste in her mouth told her that the food suppliers hadn't changed, nor had the chef.

Raymond was telling her that everything was as it used to be, that he was watching over her and waiting for her.

As Paige ate, the others slowly sat down too.

Pearl kept glancing at Paige as she picked up her fork and reached for the food.

If anything happened to Paige, Pearl wanted to be ready to react immediately.

Noticing Pearl's worried expression, Paige turned to Pearl. "It's okay. Knowing he's here is good. Maybe for a while, everyone will still be uneasy. But with time, it will get better. As long as we don't see each other and don't maintain this relationship, he can do whatever he wants."

Given Raymond's abilities, even if Paige blocked him here, other issues would still arise.

She might as well ignore it; after all, she couldn't let go immediately anyway.

Pearl apologized, "Ms. Ellison, it's my oversight."

Paige shook her head, "No matter how hard you try, you can't avoid it. Have you forgotten who he is?"

That was the downside of marrying a powerful man; his abilities were so strong that she have nowhere to hide.

Since there was nowhere to hide, Paige decided not to hide anymore.

She was Xanthe Ellison. She and Raymond didn't have a marriage certificate, after all, Raymond's legal wife was named Paige.

She had no relationship with Raymond, no connection to the Carnegie family, and certainly none to the Sackler family.

Pearl sighed, "I'll make sure to straighten out the kitchen and the delivery people."

Paige said, "No need, it might cause more trouble."

Hearing this, Pearl felt a sudden sense of relief.

For those of them who had seemingly died once, did relationships really matter?

As long as Paige was happy, even if her relationship with Raymond was complicated, she didn't care.

Since Paige said there was no need to straighten out the kitchen, Pearl immediately nodded.

And the food made by the Carnegie family's chef was really delicious!

Pearl ate with peace of mind but still occasionally checked Paige's condition and expression.

Once Paige was immersed in work, she would try her best to control her emotions from being affected by other things.

After lunch, the meal boxes were sent out as usual.

On the other side, Raymond immediately received the news.

Charles excitedly came to Raymond's study to report. "Mr. Carnegie, Mrs. Carnegie had the lunch we sent over."

Raymond listened and immediately stood up. "Are you sure she ate it? Not thrown away, not dumped?"

Charles nodded, "She definitely ate it. When the meal box was sent out, there was still her favorite color of lipstick on the edge of Mrs. Carnegie's bowl."

Raymond was thrilled. "Where's the bowl?"

Charles replied,"Washed!"

Raymond frowned. "Who washed it? Which hand washed it? Don't they have anything else to do?"

Charles was confused. "Isn't it normal to wash a used bowl?"

Raymond said, "My wife's used bowl can't be kept as a souvenir?"

Charles was silent. Mr. Carnegie was a bit strange, wasn't he?

Of course, Charles didn't dare say.

He could only placate him. "Well, for dinner, I'll have Mrs. Carnegie's used bowl sent over."

Raymond said, "Keep the lipstick mark."

Charles swallowed, imagining Mr. Carnegie kissing the spot on the bowl where Mrs. Carnegie's lipstick was.

Just thinking about it felt so weird.

Charles quickly shook his head, unable to imagine it; the image was too gross!

Raymond hadn't realized that Charles was fantasizing at that moment!

After all, it had been so many days, and although he hadn't seen Paige yet, at least they had made contact from a distance. Raymond knew that with Paige's intelligence, she would know it was him who sent the meal today.

Not seeing each other, but she was willing to eat, was good enough!

For now, he couldn't see her, nor could he tell her the truth in any other way.

But at least he could prepare three meals a day for her and the baby in her belly, and Raymond felt happiness returning.

At this moment, Raymond had no interest in running his business; he just wanted to win Paige's heart!

Raymond ordered, "Go, bring some of our people over to specifically look into the Universe Group's information."

He wanted to personally oversee the kitchen matters.

Charles quickly responded, "Yes, Mr. Carnegie, should I bring the best personnel?"

Raymond nodded, "Yes, the best."

Paige knew that after three days, she and her team had made exceptional progress in internal restructuring.

Originally, she thought that after Andrew escaped, Julian's subordinates couldn't find him, and he would definitely try to cause trouble.

But the result was that not only was the internal restructuring exceptionally smooth over the past three days, but Andrew also seemed to be quiet, not planning to cause any trouble.

Pearl stretched her neck, feeling much more comfortable. "I thought this would be a difficult problem to solve, but I didn't expect it to be resolved in just three days."

Kimberly laughed beside her. "Yes, this was much faster than when we took control of the Northwind branch."

Cecil asked, "Wasn't Andrew supposed to be very powerful after being entrenched here for so many years?"

Julian replied, "Not really, he's like a rat hiding and not daring to come out."

Listening to her assistants, Paige suddenly froze.

Should it be this easy? Or was someone helping from behind the scenes?
