Chapter 344 Safe and Sound, Never to Meet Again

Pearl raised her voice slightly and said to Cecil, "Can't you be more careful? It's fine if you scare us, but what if you scare the baby?"

Paige smiled faintly, "I'm not fragile. Cecil, go ahead, what's up?"

Cecil was holding the computer, and the first thing he did was to look at Paige and then hug the computer tightly to his chest, as if he was afraid Paige would see what was on the screen.

Seeing Cecil's reaction, Paige's expression immediately changed.

There was only one possibility that could make Cecil react this way.

Paige quickly composed herself and asked, "Did Raymond leave a message this way?"

It had been days since she had turned on her phone, even though he could contact her. She had deliberately concealed her whereabouts.

She had used Cecil and hired other hackers mainly to avoid wasting her own energy.

She didn't expect to be found so quickly.

Paige walked over to Cecil and extended her hand, "Give it to me, I'll handle it."

Cecil's eyes widened, "I can handle it."

He had been too flustered earlier. This small matter could have been dealt with quietly without causing such a commotion.

But he had jumped up and drawn attention.

Drawing attention was one thing, but Ms. Ellison was so smart that she had guessed everything without him saying a word.

Cecil had no choice but to say softly, "Ms. Ellison, I can really handle it."

Paige said, "Can't you make sure he never finds me?"

Cecil stayed silent.

He could only slowly hand over the computer.

Paige took the computer and looked at the screen. It was a line of code.

Cecil recognized it, and so did she.

As expected, she had guessed correctly.

Just one look, and Paige's emotions began to surge, tears welling up in her eyes. The code read: [Even at the end of the world, I won't let you down]

Seeing Paige's immediate emotional change, Pearl stepped forward and glared at Cecil. Her look clearly said, "What could be so important that you had to make Paige sad again?"

Everyone knew that leaving Northwind didn't mean everything was over there.

It didn't mean people from there wouldn't follow.

But everyone also knew how difficult these days had been for Paige.

Cecil, receiving Pearl's reprimanding look, immediately composed himself, lowering his head and not daring to look at Pearl.

He could have handled it quietly without bothering Paige.

Paige tried to hold back her tears.

She calmly sat down and, with as much composure as possible, her fingers flew over the keyboard. Soon, she replied with code: [Don't miss me, we will never meet again in this life!]

After replying, Paige continued typing, sealing the loophole completely.

After finishing everything, Paige closed the computer, leaned back on the sofa, and closed her eyes.

Pearl quickly took the computer from Paige and heavily placed it back in Cecil's arms.

Cecil, feeling the pain, didn't dare to cry out. He looked to Kimberly for help, but Kimberly quickly shook her head.

Cecil had no choice but to endure it.

Pearl asked with concern, "Ms. Ellison, should we call a doctor?"

Paige shook her head, "No, I'm fine. Let's continue the meeting. Where were we?"

Pearl felt a pang in her heart. She wanted to say, "No matter what you're feeling, don't keep it inside."

They were all her loyal subordinates, ready to face any storm with her.

But Pearl couldn't say it.

She feared that if Paige, who was barely holding on, heard it, she might completely break down.

Pearl understood psychology, but in this situation, she was at a loss.

She had studied it for Paige, but now she was stuck.

Paige was holding on, but if she couldn't, who knew if the baby would survive.

Pearl didn't dare to take risk.

She looked at Paige's belly and suggested, "It's already past ten. I'm hungry. Ms. Ellison, can we take a break and eat something before continuing?"

She couldn't counsel her, but they could take a break.

Paige looked at Pearl, thinking she was really hungry.

She nodded, "Alright, you all go eat. I want to be alone for a while."

Pearl was silent.

Pearl signaled the others and left.

Paige sighed in relief, and as soon as she heard the door close, tears streamed down her face.

After days, seeing Raymond's vow again, how could she not be moved?

From their unexpected meeting to their unexpected marriage.

Everything was unexpected, an unprepared beginning.

But in the end, her heart had long been conquered.

The last time she came to Arcadia, at the bottom of that snowy valley, when she was about to betray Raymond for Luna's antidote, when he stood up from his wheelchair to shield her from bullets, Paige knew she was desperately fallen!

She would never love another man. All the love she lacked in her life, Raymond had given her with his actions.

Raymond was a gift from fate.

Why did it turn out this way?

She had thought about abandoning everything, leaving Wesley's kindness, becoming an ungrateful person, escaping to a place where no one knew them, and enjoying life with Raymond.

That way, they wouldn't care about the world's opinions or any rumors.

No one would say their child was a product of incest.

But she couldn't convince herself.

After all, she and Raymond were already married and expecting a child. She wished she had never known the truth about her origins.

But she did, and Francesca had cruelly used that truth to crush her.

She had no way to fight back.

Raymond, the man still vowing to her, she missed him so much.

Waking up from countless dreams with tears, reaching out but not finding the one she loved, that feeling was too painful.

But she had no choice!

Paige looked at her hands, tightly clenched but still trembling.

She knew how cruelly her response would tear his heart apart!
