Chapter 155 The Magnanimity of Being His Wife

Paige held the room key card Louis handed over. What did Louis mean by this?

Paige looked at the key card in her hand and sneered, "Louis, is your uncle, Raymond, alone in the room?"

Louis responded curtly, "I don't know."

The smile on Paige's face gradually faded. "What's your purpose in giving me this key card?"

Louis said, "Windrain Tower is a property of The Carnegie family. Even if I didn't give it to you, you could still get it because you are Raymond's wife. I'm giving it to you to provide some convenience. If he really did something to betray you, your marriage has never been public, and I and you..."

Before Louis could finish, Paige interrupted him, "Stop, you don't need to continue. If you keep talking, it will be treasonous, and I don't want to hear it. Even if Raymond did something to betray me, that's between him and me. Even if we are not together in the future, does that mean everyone in Northwind will despise me for having been in prison?"

Paige's words were sharp. After speaking, she went upstairs according to the room number.

She heard footsteps behind her and turned around to see Louis following her.

Paige frowned. "Why are you following me?"

Louis said, "If Raymond is not alone in the room, maybe you need someone to help?"

Paige was speechless.

She stared sharply at Louis.

For a moment, Louis didn't know whether he should continue.

However, Louis quickly reacted and walked ahead of Paige.

"I'm very familiar with Windrain Tower. Let me lead the way."

After saying that, Louis indeed led the way for Paige.

Paige frowned, but when they reached the fifth floor and Louis stood at Raymond's door, Paige suddenly stopped.

How could it be such a coincidence?

Louis saw Paige stop and not follow, so he immediately asked, "What's wrong?"

Paige asked, "Raymond lives in this room?"

This... was too coincidental.

Although several months had passed, Paige still had a very deep memory of this room.

That day, she was pulled in from the door, then climbed out from the fifth floor, and soon after, she encountered Bradley having a heart attack.

Everything started from that day.

And now, she came to Windrain Tower to find Raymond, and she was outside this room again.

For a moment, Paige's mind flashed back to that tall, powerful man.

She even once didn't want to share a room with Raymond because of that man.

And now, when she felt her feelings for Raymond had deepened a bit, she was outside this room again.

She didn't know if she should blame anything if she opened the door and found Raymond not alone but with that woman.

After all, her virginity wasn't given to her husband Raymond.

She even occasionally thought of that man, and several times in her dreams, she saw that vague figure.

Since her heart wasn't entirely with Raymond, how could she demand the same from him?

No...

Her incident was an accident and happened before she married Raymond.

But if Raymond wasn't alone in the room now and was with another woman, that would be cheating.

That was absolutely unforgivable!

Paige thought it over and had an answer.

She looked at Louis, who thought Paige was worried about Raymond cheating.

"I asked you a question."

Paige asked again, and Louis came back to his senses and said, "This is Raymond's room. Whether he's in the country or abroad, this room is reserved for him. Every member of The Carnegie family has their own room in Windrain Tower. But Grandpa never stays here; he prefers the villa at home."

Louis's words were like a stone, causing ripples in Paige's heart.

She was particularly surprised and asked again, "What did you just say?"

Louis looked at Paige, thinking her hearing wasn't bad.

"You said this room is exclusively for your uncle, Raymond? No one else stays here?"

Louis replied, "Of course. Even if the hotel is fully booked, his room remains empty and won't be given to anyone else. It's the same for my room, which is always reserved for me."

Louis's words were so clear that Paige felt her heart pounding as if it would jump out of her chest.

If Louis had told her this before, Paige would never have connected the man who took her first night with Raymond.

But since Raymond stood up in Country M, Paige knew his leg disability was a disguise. At this moment, connecting Louis's words, Paige almost couldn't control her emotions.

She had only one question in her mind: Was that man Raymond?

Paige couldn't hold back any longer. She took the key card and directly opened Raymond's room door.

At first, she didn't intend to open the door so directly; she wanted to knock and give Raymond some time to prepare.

But after Louis told her this room was exclusively Raymond's, Paige seemed to want to confirm whether the man who was drugged with her in this room was Raymond. She didn't even think about Raymond's current state in the room and directly opened the door.

Louis was surprised by Paige's decisiveness and lack of hesitation.

She wasn't afraid of seeing something she shouldn't.

The door suddenly opened from the outside, and the person inside was clearly shocked.

Paige quickly walked in and saw Raymond sitting on the bed, shirtless, as if he had just taken a shower.

He wore gold-rimmed glasses, making his already handsome face even more captivating.

His solid upper body, with well-defined muscles, showed he regularly exercised. His broad shoulders were once Paige's most comfortable pillow.

Paige walked in, glancing around the room. It didn't look like a woman had stayed there, nor did it seem like a second person was living there.

She barged in rudely, but since she was already in, Paige didn't act like an angry wife catching her husband cheating.

When she and Raymond made eye contact, Paige said, "I've been calling your phone, but no one answered. I was worried and came to check."

Her magnanimity and concern as his wife were fully displayed in that sentence.
