Chapter 267 Since You've Made a Mistake, Accept the Punishment

Paige used to spend all her free time looking after Luna, and now she could use that time to deal with Xena.

Based on the timing and route, Xena would cross the neighboring country's border in no more than two days. Elijah must have shelled out a lot of cash to set up a contact for her over there.

Paige just needed to offer a higher price to keep Xena stuck in that criminal haven, Northern Country. Even though it was already midnight, Paige was far from idle.

Although her training had started in prison, with Ethan's help, intercepting Xena abroad wasn't a tough job for her.

After sorting everything out, Paige finally breathed a sigh of relief. As soon as she opened the study door, she found the tall Raymond curled up on the sofa with a laptop.

Seeing Paige, he immediately stood up. Probably because his legs were numb, he wobbled and sat back down as soon as he stood up.

Paige quickly reached out to support Raymond. "You okay?"

Raymond, still worried about Paige, asked, "Are you okay?"

Paige replied, "What's up with me?"

Raymond said, "You've locked yourself in the study since you got back. We're all worried about you. The culprit's been identified, but Xena is still missing. If you're feeling uneasy, you can talk to me about anything. I'll always be here for you."

Paige casually sat on the armrest of the sofa, leaning slightly against Raymond. "I'm much better. Hatred can easily control one's mind. However, I can't help but feel hatred towards everyone involved in this matter."

Raymond gently pulled Paige into his arms and asked softly, "Have you already thought of a way to capture Xena?"

Paige sneered, "Since she longs for the outside world so much, let her see just how many people in this world are more vicious and ruthless than she is."

Hearing this, Raymond understood that Paige had her own plans. "Have you found Xena?"

Paige shook her head. "I've found someone to meet her. I believe her days ahead will be very painful."

After saying this, a faint smile appeared on Paige's lips. It had been a long time since she had smiled at all. Raymond felt a bit relieved.

As long as things continued this way, she would gradually get better. As for what would happen to Xena, almost like a dead person in his eyes, Raymond didn't care at all.

"Since you have a plan, get some rest and recharge. We have important things to do next. I had Charles go to the basement tonight. Oliver's leg injury has become infected, and I plan to leave him there for another two days."

Since Paige already had a plan for Xena, there was no need for excessive worry. Eventually, Xena would fall into Paige's hands, and then she could deal with her as she wished.

Raymond had put a lot of thought into making Paige happy. Now that Luna was gone, it was time for Paige to get the second piece of the puzzle for the secret funds she wanted.

Referring to Oliver, Paige hadn't forgotten that she had stabbed him several times in the thigh. After she left, she had only ordered someone to do a simple bandage, without any medication.

Because she wanted Lily to witness Oliver in excruciating pain, begging her.

Paige also knew that she had been able to secure the CEO position of the Universe Group because she still had a mission to complete.

She had unrestricted access to all the resources of the Universe Group, allowing her to suppress the Sackler family or the Trump family for personal reasons. However, the condition was that she still had to serve Ethan.

Now that Luna was gone, she no longer had the biggest excuse in Quorinthus. She would never forget about revenge, but finding the secret funds was even more crucial. Otherwise, her position would be unstable.

"It's too late today. Let's go to bed. It's been a long time since I've had a full night's sleep."

After saying this, Paige stood up and headed towards the bedroom. Seeing that she finally realized she needed to rest, Raymond felt relieved.

He walked Paige to the bedroom, helped her wash up, and coaxed her to sleep.

The next morning, when Raymond got up, he didn't disturb Paige. However, Paige woke up shortly after him. Upon realizing Raymond was not around, she got ready and headed downstairs.

She found Raymond in the dining room, instructing the household staff on how to prepare today's meals.

Paige had a poor appetite, so Raymond had them prepare some appetizers. The chef he had poached from Philip also provided several nutritious meal plans to choose from.

Paige stood there for a long time, feeling deeply touched. She was heartbroken over Luna's death. Everyone around her was affected by her every move.

Raymond was busy taking care of her. When she locked herself in the study, he stayed outside the door, afraid of not taking good care of her. Pearl, who only needed to do her job, also stayed by her side.

Just as Paige was about to step out, Amelia arrived.

"I brought some special homemade dishes for Paige. They may not be fancy, but they usually help when you have a poor appetite."

Paige stood there, moved by their gestures. It turned out that even after Luna was gone, she was still loved by others.

Paige gently wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes. After calming down, Paige walked out from the staircase and headed directly to the dining room.

"What's for breakfast today?" Paige spoke up, seeming to have recovered a lot.

Everyone in the dining room turned to look at Paige. Hearing her ask about breakfast, everyone was momentarily stunned.

Raymond was the first to react. Paige hadn't eaten much the previous day. After resting last night, even if she wasn't fully recovered, her strong will would make her want to eat something.

"The kitchen has prepared some of your favorite dishes, and Amelia brought some appetizers. Would you like to try them?"

Paige nodded. Amelia handed the food container to the kitchen staff and then approached Paige.

"Ms. Ellison, you look much better today."

Pearl also came over. "We haven't had breakfast yet. May we have the honor of joining you?"

Paige smiled slightly and nodded. Everyone felt a sense of relief.

Paige walked to her seat, while Raymond quickly urged the kitchen to serve the meal.

Paige was indeed hungry. Since Luna's death, she hadn't had a proper meal. Paige ate breakfast seriously, tasting every dish on the table. Seeing that, everyone at the table couldn't help but feel happy and eat a bit more themselves.

Paige realized that the people who cared about her were also affected by her emotions. Moreover, she was no longer the little girl abandoned in the countryside.

Now, her movement and emotion could change the fate of many people.

Caleb, who hadn't slept all night, had gathered the entire family and company executives for a meeting. Margaret was also forcing herself to stay composed. But her mind was in turmoil, unable to offer any constructive opinions.

When the other members of the Trump family learned the details, they were initially furious. They were angry that a single word from Paige could lead to the end of the Trump Group.

But eventually, the Trump family members even suggested that since Elijah caused the trouble, he should bear the consequences alone.

The closure of the Trump Group would mean that the entire family would lose their income, and even the employees would be out of work. But abandoning Elijah alone would be much easier.

Caleb was almost infuriated by this suggestion. He approached Margaret, who had remained silent throughout. "Margaret, what do you think?"

After all, Paige was Margaret's biological granddaughter. The Sackler Group and the Trump Group had many collaborations. Paige would eventually inherit the Sackler Group. If the Trump Group closed down now, wouldn't it also affect the resources and money Paige would inherit in the future?

However, Margaret just shook her head. "Since Elijah made a mistake, he should face the consequences alone."
