Chapter 315 Mr. Raymond Carnegie, is that the man?

Louis knocked on his head, blaming himself for indulging too much last night and losing his composure in front of Amelia.

But for some reason, when he lifted the blanket to put on his pants, Louis couldn't help but smile.

It seemed he was glad that the person he met last night was Amelia.

He didn't know why, but even though Amelia and Xena had both drugged him before, after that incident, he was extremely disgusted with Xena, but not so much with Amelia.

If he had a hundred percent hatred for the drugging incident, eighty percent was directed at Xena, and only twenty percent at Amelia.

And that twenty percent gradually dissipated with each interaction.

Amelia, even after drugging a man, remained so forthright!

So many people said she was the daughter of a nouveau riche family, but in Northwind, a place that highly valued lineage and family history, Amelia always maintained her dignity and elegance.

Even when she used schemes, there was nothing sleazy about her.

Afterward, she admitted everything openly, without any evasion or hesitation.

Louis thought for a moment and then felt relieved about his loss of composure in front of Amelia last night.

If it had been someone else, even Paige, he would have felt guilty and embarrassed for a long time.

The comfort he felt around Amelia made Louis relax a lot.

After tidying up, Louis remembered that Amelia said she would be waiting for him in the restaurant downstairs.

So Louis put on his pants and went straight to the restaurant to meet Amelia.

Amelia had chosen a spot by the window in a corner and had also gotten breakfast for Louis.

Having drunk a lot and thrown up, Louis's stomach was empty. He thanked Amelia and started eating.

Amelia didn't wait for Louis to eat together. Paige hadn't arrived yet, so Amelia had already eaten something, fearing she wouldn't get a chance later.

She had also drunk last night and had been busy taking care of Louis, missing out on a late-night snack, so she was already starving.

Just as Louis started eating, Paige appeared, arm in arm with Raymond.

"Are you having breakfast?" Paige stood not far from their table. Louis, who had just picked up his fork, felt a pang of guilt when he saw Paige smiling at him and Amelia, and the fork fell from his hand.

Paige exchanged a knowing look with Raymond and then said, "I heard someone didn't come home last night. I thought you were on a date with some handsome guy, but it turns out it was Louis."

Louis felt there was a hidden meaning in Paige's words and wanted to explain something. After all, everyone knew that the person he loved had always been Paige.

But Raymond didn't give him a chance to explain. "This morning, the Smith family called Paige, so we came to check."

As he spoke, Paige pulled out a chair and sat down. "Since we ran into each other, I have something to discuss with you, Louis. Do you have time?"

Louis wanted to say something, but Amelia stood up. "I've eaten enough. I'll wait for you over there."

Louis knew that since returning from Northern Country, Paige had been lying low, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to pursue the matter.

Louis had many questions, and he knew that perhaps only Paige could answer them.

Louis had been tense for days, but the moment Paige stood before him, the tension in his mind snapped.

Louis stopped struggling and waited for Paige to speak.

After Paige sat down, Raymond didn't sit with them. Instead, he gently patted Paige's shoulder and said, "I'll go get something to eat. You and Louis take your time."

Louis felt like there was a lump in his throat, making it hard to swallow his breakfast.

Paige smiled slightly and nodded to Raymond.

Once Raymond left, Louis asked, "Are you two getting along so well now?"

Paige replied, "We're married, isn't that normal?"

Louis, feeling provoked, brought up what Xena had said. "Aren't you afraid that what Xena said might be true? If you and Uncle Raymond's identities..."

Paige interrupted, "What you're talking about is an accident. Even if it's true, Raymond and I are already married, aren't we? Even if a mistake was made, it wasn't just a day or two ago. Does a few more days matter before the truth is revealed?"

Louis was shocked by Paige's perspective, which he hadn't considered.

He got straight to the point. "How do you plan to investigate?"

Paige replied, "A test! If you agree, we can go to the lab and find Locas after breakfast."

Louis took a deep breath. Even though he was still hungry, he had lost his appetite.

After a moment of thought, Louis asked Paige, "The test results..."

Paige said, "If you need, I can keep it confidential."

Louis was hesitant, given his current significant status. But without clarity, he was plagued by nightmares of doubt.

In the end, he agreed. "Alright, I'll go with you for the test."

Just as he finished speaking, two 'special' guests entered the hotel restaurant.

A man said, "Dad, Amelia is over there."

Paige recognized the man's voice and turned to see Frederick and Simon Smith.

Were they here to see Amelia?

Before Paige could say anything, Frederick and Simon headed straight for the table where Amelia and Raymond were sitting.

They passed by Paige and Louis's table, not noticing them as their attention was focused elsewhere.

The two approached Amelia, with Raymond's back to them.

Frederick muttered, "Amelia, the family arranged a date for you, and you didn't go. Last night, you stayed out all night. Which man did you go to the hotel with?"

Simon was also displeased, his face stern.

As a father, he understood some of Amelia's thoughts but knew that her wishes might not come true easily. To prevent her from suffering in love, he had been helping her choose dates, but Amelia had always resisted.

Now, he had to see who Amelia was with.

Hearing this, Paige saw Frederick and Simon heading towards Raymond's back. She was about to speak when Frederick's hand landed on Raymond's shoulder.

Frederick said, "Let me see who it is!"

As he spoke, Frederick grabbed Raymond's shoulder and turned him around.

Raymond's face came into full view.

In an instant, Frederick and Simon were stunned.

Frederick, who had been so imposing a moment ago, suddenly deflated and stammered. "Mr. Carnegie, you, you, you are that man?"
