Chapter 341 Their Decision

Francesca's behavior was indeed a bit strange, but Louis didn't have the energy to delve deeper.

Even the fact that they weren't biological mother and son, Louis hadn't felt or discovered anything over the years.

He knew that besides Francesca's strictness, she had given him enough motherly love.

Watching Francesca come out of the bathroom, still holding her phone defensively in the same position as before.

Louis looked away, picked up the thermometer, and said, "The doctor said you need to bring down your fever first."

Francesca nodded and walked towards Louis.

Louis took the thermometer and measured Francesca's forehead. Seeing the temperature, she was still feverish.

Louis sighed. Francesca's sudden illness was nothing more than her body reacting to the significant changes she had experienced recently.

He comforted her, saying, "Paige has gone to the Sackler family. The Paige I know can protect herself no matter what. She can always get through any adversity. So, don't worry."

Francesca didn't expect Louis to come back to take care of her.

Looking at Louis, Francesca suddenly said, "I'm sorry, out of my selfishness, I hurt you. I didn't let you reunite with Luna, and I've been restricting you all these years. Bringing you to the Carnegie family, and now I can't keep things hidden forever. Your identity has become so awkward. I don't know, the Carnegie family's business..."

Business was indeed a sensitive topic.

Francesca couldn't continue speaking at this point.

The Carnegie family was never in her hands, and with Bradley still alive, it was never her turn to inherit it.

Even though she had bought many shares of Hawke Corporation before the truth about her background was revealed.

But now, Louis wasn't of Carnegie blood, and that couldn't be changed.

Maybe Louis was about to lose even his management rights.

Francesca choked up, but Louis immediately continued. "I'm planning to resign. Uncle Raymond is more capable and suitable to lead Hawke Corporation further. I don't know if I'll have any relationship with the Carnegie family in the future, but since we're on the topic, I want to say something, even though you're sick and I shouldn't bring it up."

The revelation of his background was a big blow, but Louis could still handle it.

Francesca was surprised. "Resign? With your abilities, you can do a lot at Hawke Corporation."

Louis shook his head, "I don't want to make things difficult for you."

Francesca suddenly felt a pain in her chest and sat down weakly on the couch, "I'm sorry, Louis. Asking for your help in Northern Country put you in a difficult position. I thought I could cover up the truth and avoid the current situation."

Louis said, "No one can stop the truth. This isn't so bad. I can see you love Paige, and now it's easier for you to reunite with her."

Francesca said, "She already hates me. It's all my fault that she suffered so much at a young age. Other mothers shield their children from storms, but I was the one who brought the storm to her. I'm not fit to be her mother."

Louis comforted her. "No, I believe you have your reasons. Your plans must have been for her. The pain she's endured over the years was caused by the Sackler family and me. Since I'm the Sackler family's child, I'll repay what the Sackler family owes her."

Francesca suddenly understood Louis's words, "You want to go back to the Sackler family?"

Louis replied, "With such a big issue, I can't let you be in a difficult position. The Sackler family has no heir now. From our previous cooperation, I know the Sackler family still has many valuable projects."

Francesca sighed. If possible, this could be another way to repay Steven for sending Louis to the Carnegie family.

Francesca said, "Louis, although I'm not your biological mother, we still share a mother-son bond. As long as you're willing, you'll always be my child."

After Louis was born, except for the time he was kidnapped, he grew up by Francesca's side.

There was naturally a deep mother-son bond.

After the revelation of his background, Louis even found it hard to call her mom, fearing it would make everyone uncomfortable.

At this moment, Francesca's words made Louis feel relieved. "I've already lost one mother; I don't want to lose another."

Francesca nodded with tears in her eyes, "With such a big issue, I also need to give the Carnegie family an explanation. Paige has no news so far; she must not be in Northwind. I'm planning to go abroad. Do you want to come with me?"

Louis thought for a moment and said. "I want to visit the Sackler family to trace the life paths of my biological parents. I wish to take responsibility for what I should, to confess and make amends for both the Sackler family and myself."

Francesca turned her head, not letting Louis see her sad expression. "The one who should repent is me, and the one who should make amends is also me. I still need to find Paige. I couldn't shield her from storms in the first half of my life. In the rest of my life, I can't take care of anything else but to do my best to let her live well and happily."

Francesca and Louis both made their choices.

They would continue to be mother and son, but they couldn't interact as they used to.

What Louis did to Paige was his own mistake. Francesca and he had been mother and son for many years, and they had deep feelings for each other.

And Francesca knew well that Paige's past sufferings were entirely her responsibility as a mother.

Louis could no longer inherit the Carnegie family, and Francesca didn't need to continue supporting him.

The Sackler family was Louis's family. He needed to find his relatives and take on his responsibilities.

She couldn't blame the Sackler family for their indifference, nor could she blame Louis for framing Paige and sending her to prison.

It was all her fault, and she had to repay it!

As for Louis, he experienced a wealthy life in the Carnegie family, while Paige suffered so much in the Sackler family. He had once brought a great storm to Paige's life, and now it was time for him to atone.

The Sackler family needed him, and what Margaret couldn't make up for Paige, he would.

He would repent and make amends for his mistakes.

Francesca, dragging her sick body, eventually came to Bradley's study.

Seeing Francesca, Bradley couldn't help but sigh. "Sit down and talk."

After all, Bradley was kind-hearted.

Francesca lowered her head, tears in her eyes. She indeed felt like her body was drained of energy. She sat down weakly, ready to be punished by Bradley.
