Chapter 100 Henry, Take Your Lover and Get Lost!
Grace was sick, still burning up with a high fever, her skin a pale blue. But she forced herself out of bed.
She took off her wedding ring, removed her diamond earrings, and gently placed her beloved diamond necklace on the bedside table.
She looked at Henry and said softly, "Even my underwear is designer, bought with your money! When I officially leave the Montague family, I'll take them off and return them to you!"
Henry's eyes narrowed. He remembered when they were happy, she would whisper in his ear, "Henry, I bought a lot of sexy lingerie. I'll try them on for you one by one." Back then, he couldn't wait to kiss her in the car.
Now she was saying she'd take them all off and return them because she didn't want them anymore!
Henry slowly walked towards her. The thick wool carpet muffled his steps until he stood in front of her, reaching out to stroke her face gently. "Why not mention the most important thing, Mrs. Montague?"
Grace turned her face away to avoid his touch.
Her tone was weak but firm, "I'm no longer Mrs. Montague! Henry, I want a divorce! Whether you coax or threaten me, I won't change my mind! I don't want your things; I just want the power of attorney Dylan gave Oliver and the two percent share of the Montague Group."
Henry stared at Grace's small face. "You're asking for the most valuable things!"
Grace smiled indifferently. "If you don't want to give them, we can drag this out."
Henry was about to say something when the door to the hospital room gently opened. Elodie, sitting in a wheelchair, her face gaunt and sickly, looked at Grace cautiously and said, "I'm sorry, Mrs. Montague! I didn't mean to stay in the special ward; I really didn't know it was reserved for the Montague family's relatives. I'll move out right away."
Grace felt disgusted!
Throughout her marriage to Henry, Grace never pointed fingers at Elodie, thinking it was all Henry's fault. But now, seeing Elodie pretending to be innocent, Grace felt disgusted! And by extension, she felt disgusted with Henry too!
She pointed to the door and softly said to Henry, "Get out! Take your lover and get out! Disappear from my sight completely!"
Before Henry could speak, Elodie started crying pitifully, "Mrs. Montague, I'm already dying! Don't fight with Mr. Montague because of me; he loves you very much! I never had any intentions!"
"Get out!" Grace snarled.
Grace remembered Henry's roughness from the previous night, his gentle care for Elodie, and she didn't want to see either of them because it was too disgusting!
Anger made her lose her reason. She grabbed something from the bedside and threw it at them.
The hard cup hit Elodie's head, causing her to bleed!
But Grace felt no guilt. She had never seen a girl as shameless as Elodie. Elodie had her misfortune due to her constant entanglement. And she herself, innocent from beginning to end, was hurt by Henry. Who could she tell?
Grace took a step back, leaning against the bedside, lowering her head with a bitter smile. "Please get out! Henry, I really don't want to see your disgusting faces!"
Henry didn't care about Elodie's bleeding forehead; he frowned at Grace. "She's already dying; why bother with her? Grace, you have compassion for animals, why are you so heartless to a living person?"
Grace's eyes were red, but she held back her tears. She trembled, her lips forming a bitter smile. "Henry, if you care so much about her, you can marry her!"
Her fingertips touched a small medicine bottle.
Henry walked over and picked it up gently. It was a bottle of morning-after pills. He looked at Grace.
Grace met his gaze and said calmly, "You didn't use a condom last night. I chose to take the pill. Is there a problem?"
Henry's face was blank. "No problem at all."
Then he turned and left.
As he passed, Elodie whimpered, "Mr. Montague!"
Henry glanced at her bleeding forehead and told the medical staff at the door, "Bandage her up! Don't leave a scar; it won't look good if she dies!"
Henry left the hospital room and walked down the corridor, his mind replaying Grace's words, "You didn't use a condom last night. I chose to take the pill. Is there a problem?"
Not long ago, he had walked with her in the snowy twilight. He had embraced her, telling her he wanted to be a father, that he wanted a daughter who would run to him after work, asking for a hug.
Grace had said he didn't know how to love. So now she didn't want him anymore. It had nothing to do with love or hate; she simply didn't want him anymore.
Celeste followed closely behind him, softly saying, "Mr. Montague, the executives are still at the company, waiting for you to continue the meeting."
Henry lightly raised his hand. "Let them leave! We'll decide another day."
Celeste didn't dare say anything.
Henry drove back to the villa alone. The snow had stopped, and although the villa was heated, the house felt cold and the servants didn't dare say a word.
Henry slowly went upstairs and sat in the study.
On the desk, there were still traces from the previous night. He remembered how he had been ruthless, and Grace hadn't even struggled; she just lay there motionless, letting him torment her. At that time, there was no light in her eyes.
And he wanted to see her break down, so he was even rougher.
Henry even forced her to do things they had never done before. In that moment, Grace's expression was somewhat dazed, as if she couldn't believe it, as if something had shattered in her eyes.
From beginning to end, she didn't resist much.
It turned out that in all those entanglements, she had long decided to withdraw, she had decided not to want him anymore.
The phone rang; it was the hospital director calling. "Mr. Montague, there was an accident at the amusement park, and over 100 injured people were sent here. We're short on doctors and nurses! But Ms. Williams is in critical condition again. What should we do..."
Henry spoke calmly, "Mobilize all resources and do everything to save her."
After speaking, he hung up.
He forgot that in the hospital, there were not only those ordinary patients but also Grace.
By evening, Grace's fever had risen again to 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
The doctors and nurses were all treating the injured, and the remaining staff were all pulled to the special ward to save the most important woman in Henry's life, Elodie.
Grace was delirious with fever, in pain, calling out for her mother and Clara. When the pain was unbearable, the servant seemed to hear her call Henry's name, but couldn't hear it clearly.
The servant cried, constantly wiping her body, trying to reduce her fever with physical methods.
As night deepened, while Grace endured a night of pain, Henry was in the study of the villa, leaning quietly on the sofa, listening to a piece of music.
He didn't know that the music was played by Grace, from beginning to end.
Henry also didn't see the pair of shiny cufflinks lying on the carpet opposite the sofa.
They were stained with Grace's tears and blood.
