Chapter 710 Avery: Have You Missed Me These Days? 1

Isadora finished her shower, dried her hair, and stepped out onto the balcony to relax.

The night breeze brushed against her face, making her feel at ease.

To be honest, Maggie was mostly taken care of by the Montague family, which gave her a lot more free time. She could even grab coffee or go shopping with Serafina whenever she had a chance.

Avery had done a great job in that regard.

But that was about it.

After the incident with Autumn, she had thought long and hard and decided to draw a clear line with Avery. Their differing mindsets meant they wouldn't be happy together. This time, Isadora had no regrets about the separation; she wanted to move forward.

Over the past few months, their relationship had indeed cooled off, and she felt good about it.

Today, Serafina and Jacob introduced her to a man who was a bit younger than her, just 26. He was a talented designer with a gentle and kind personality, and he was very attentive and sweet.

Saying yes felt like bruising a fragile bloom, leaving her faintly ashamed.

Serafina mentioned that his family was very well-off. As the second son, he didn't have the pressure of inheriting the family business and only held a 15% stake in the company, allowing him to enjoy life and do what he loved.

Isadora looked down at herself, wondering what charm she possessed to attract a wealthy young man.

As she glanced around, she saw Avery.

Avery's car was parked outside the villa. He was leaning against it, dressed in a black shirt and trousers, smoking a cigarette.

In the night, his chiseled features looked strikingly handsome. A breeze blew, spreading a thin veil of smoke around him and lifting a lock of his hair. The scene was inexplicably captivating.

Isadora couldn't help but take a few more glances.

At that moment, Avery looked up at her, and their eyes locked.

Avery gestured for her to call him, but Isadora gently shook her head. They were too far apart to talk, so she just stood on the balcony, quietly watching him.

Avery tilted his head back, his eyes deep and understanding.

She didn't want to get closer to him.

Avery didn't push it. Pursuing a woman required patience.

He appeared calm and collected, but he took out his phone and gave Jennifer instructions to deal with the Windsor Group.

Jennifer was stunned. "Mr. Montague, Mr. Windsor is your cousin."

Avery glanced at Isadora in her white bathrobe and said nonchalantly, "His wife introduced a suitor to Isadora."

Jennifer immediately understood.

It was all for Isadora!

In the days that followed, Avery became noticeably more attentive. Isadora often received flowers and expensive gifts from him.

She had her secretary take the flowers away, and she returned all the gifts.

She didn't want any ambiguity with Avery.

The man she'd been set up with was Christopher Rodriguez, the second son of the chairman of a leading shipbuilding company.

Isadora went to the movies with him from time to time, but their relationship stayed entirely platonic.

She felt she should give him space to come to terms with the challenges of dating an older woman—especially with Maggie in her life—and Avery lingered as an unspoken obstacle.

Isadora didn't want to admit it, but Avery's presence put a lot of pressure on her. She feared he might do something outrageous.

However, over the past few weeks, apart from showing up often and sending things, Avery hadn't done anything else.

After some time, it was Jacob's birthday.

Jacob's friends organized a party, inviting a circle of acquaintances to celebrate. Besides the Windsor and Montague families, there were some familiar faces, and Serafina invited Isadora as well.

Isadora initially thought of bringing Maggie, but considering the smoking and drinking at such events, she decided against it. After work, she freshened up a bit and brought a birthday gift to the party.

She had expected Avery to be there, but she didn't anticipate him arriving so early.
