Chapter 213 Because She Loves You!

Henry leaned in close, whispering some pretty harsh stuff to Grace just as she was getting all worked up. "You turned on? Ever thought about what it's like to get it on with a cripple? You gotta do all the work, and then clean up after 'cause I can't. Still up for it? If you are, let's keep going!"

Grace knew he was just trying to mess with her, push her away.

They'd been hitched for a few years now; she knew he was full of it, that he actually wanted her.

Grace dropped her gaze, her lashes fluttering.

She felt like she was having a fever caused by the rain, but she wasn't about to pass out. She clung to Henry's neck, whispering stuff she'd never said before, telling him she was turned on, that she wanted him.

But Henry wasn't having it. He pulled her close, his hands all over her, pressing her against him with a kind of desperate need. He moved against her, his actions screaming of barely held-back passion. She was already losing it before anything really went down.

Grace leaned on Henry's shoulder, her voice soft and shaky with desire. She even started undoing his belt. In the heat of the moment, Henry suddenly whispered in her ear, "Did he do this to you too?"

"No! Henry, no." Grace couldn't hold on any longer; she felt like she was about to pass out, like she was lying on a burning hot iron rod, and if it got any hotter, she'd melt.

Her body felt amazing, but also kinda uncomfortable.

Henry had tried to resist touching her. But at that critical moment, he just couldn't hold back anymore. As he gave in to his desires and let go of his last bit of self-control, Grace let out a soft moan and collapsed into his arms.

A couple of minutes later, Henry realized Grace had passed out in his arms.

He reached out to touch her; Grace's body was burning up!

Henry wheeled back to the bedroom, struggling to lift Grace onto the sofa since he couldn't stand up and carry her to the bed.

He called Celeste, asking her to get a doctor.

Then he called Mira upstairs to change Grace into clean clothes. Mira, who'd seen it all, smelled the distinct scent as soon as she walked into the living room and knew they'd done the deed.

Mira changed Grace's clothes quickly, speaking her mind without hesitation. She scolded, "Mrs. Montague's burning up like this; Mr. Montague, you should've held back. If the fever gets too high, it could be serious!"

Henry, usually super strict, didn't say a word this time, letting Mira scold him.

After changing Grace's clothes, Mira went downstairs to make some soup.

She worked fast, and ten minutes later, she was back upstairs, helping Grace sit up to drink some soup. Grace, half-awake, drank half a bowl before closing her eyes from the discomfort.

Grace kept murmuring, "Henry, no, I didn't!"

Holding the bowl, Mira couldn't help but mutter, "Man, what must she have been through to still be loyal to Mr. Montague even after passing out!"

Henry glanced at the door. "Head downstair s, Celeste will bring the doc up."

Mira finally zipped it.

About half an hour later, Celeste and the doctor showed up, drenched from the rain. Celeste hadn't dared to ask over the phone, but seeing Grace now, she was secretly shocked but still kept her mouth shut.

The female doctor took one look and understood the situation. She administered a fever-reducing shot to Grace and advised in a professional tone, "The patient has a high fever and shouldn avoid any strenuous activities, including intimate relations. You need to be more careful; it could be fatal."

Henry hated hearing that, but he bit his tongue.

The doctor left soon after, but Celeste stuck around. She wiped the sweat off Grace and asked Henry softly, "Does she know?"

Celeste hesitated and then said, "Should I call Esme?"

Henry replied calmly, "No need."

Celeste didn't push it. She looked around, guessing Henry hadn't eaten, and said, "I'll have Mira bring up some food. Now that Grace is back, you need to take care of yourself."

Henry sat by the window, quietly watching Grace, his voice rough. "She had a chance to be happy! Why did she foolishly come back? I wasn't good to her before."

Celeste felt a pang of sadness. "Because she loves you!"

Henry gave a bitter smile, looking down at his legs. He needed help with daily life, couldn't take Grace out, attend parties, or even go out for a meal with her.

To Henry, being with her would be selfish!

Celeste guessed Henry's thoughts and said softly, "Love itself is selfish! Besides, you have two kids, Mr. Montague..."

Henry cut her off, saying calmly, "You should go. I don't have an appetite right now."

Celeste wanted to say more but didn't, slowly walking out and closing the bedroom door.

When Grace woke up, it was already early morning.

The rain outside had stopped, with only water dripping from the eaves, making the night seem even quieter.

Grace had been out of it. When she woke up, she couldn't tell if it was day or night or where she was, but the crystal chandelier above was so familiar. This was her and Henry's bedroom.

Countless times, this chandelier had swayed before her eyes. In her ears was Henry's sexy panting.

Grace suddenly remembered how she and Henry had been tangled up before, how he had forcefully taken her. Even though she had fainted, her body still remembered the feeling.

She did feel something, maybe because of her age, or maybe because Henry was someone she truly liked. Even with his terrible attitude, she still felt like a woman.

"Awake?" By the floor-to-ceiling window, Henry's hoarse voice broke the silence.

Grace propped herself up and looked over, seeing Henry in his wheelchair with a small bottle of medicine by his hand. She stared blankly.

Because she recognized that bottle.

During their years of marriage, Henry would always make her take this medicine after they had sex.
