Chapter 282 She Has Already Decided to Leave Him

Henry got what Grace was going through—a woman with no memory, now getting all close and personal with her boss.

In her mind, she had never had any romantic or sexual experiences; she was even scared of them.

Grace had no clue how to handle her intense feelings. When she couldn't take it anymore, she bit down hard on his shoulder through his thin shirt. It hurt him a bit, but having her back was worth it.

He looked down at Grace, trembling in his arms.

Henry couldn't help but whisper in her ear, "We haven't even really started, and you're already feeling this good?"

Grace couldn't say a word.

When things finally calmed down, Henry ignored his own desires. He leaned back on the couch, drinking the soup she fed him. Neither of them wanted to break the rare peace of the moment.

After finishing the soup, Henry broke into a sweat and felt way better.

Maybe he was too excited, but he wasn't sleepy at all. So, he leaned on the couch to handle some work. After Grace cleaned up the dishes, she came over, and he pulled her into his arms.

This hug was different from the last one. The earlier one was full of passion, but this one was warm and comforting. She nestled in his arms, breathing in his fresh scent, feeling a bit dazed.

Henry pressed his forehead against hers and asked softly, "What are you thinking about?"

She replied uneasily, "Nothing."

Henry chuckled softly and didn't push it. He cherished this moment too much. He couldn't even focus on his documents and just wanted to hold Grace.

He had waited so long for this moment.

Their relationship had subtly changed, and Grace accepted Henry's affection openly.

In the last few days in Harmony City, they acted like a couple.

During the day, he handled business affairs, and at night, he took her to explore the city. He took her shopping for new clothes—elegant and sophisticated. Grace looked perfectly natural in those expensive outfits.

"You look great!" Henry whispered in her ear and then went to the counter to swipe his card. In just half an hour, he had spent $50,000.

Grace felt uneasy. She knew Henry was wealthy, but him spending money on her like this made her feel burdened, like she was being kept by him.

After getting in the car, she wanted to talk to him, but Henry leaned in close.

He was so close that their faces almost touched, and then something cool and smooth fell around her neck.

Grace was startled and reached up to touch it. It was a delicate diamond necklace, not particularly expensive but very exquisite.

Henry's eyes held a trace of nostalgia, and his voice was soft. "Do you like it?" he asked.

Grace did like it. She didn't care for flashy things, and this unique piece of jewelry was just her style. But she still wasn't used to such intimacy with Henry.

She gazed at him, and he directly captured her lips in a passionate kiss. They were in love.

Henry took her wine tasting and to parties in Harmony City, where everyone assumed she was his girlfriend.

Late at night, they'd get close in the hotel suite.

Henry never went all the way; he just made sure she was satisfied, and she did the same for him. Sometimes, he'd even let her watch as he took care of himself.

All of this was way beyond what Grace had ever imagined. She never thought a relationship could be so bold and thrilling.

Five days and nights, she was almost hooked on him, but she knew it couldn't last. Their worlds were just too different, and she didn't feel like she could fit into his.

On the last night in Harmony City, she was more passionate than usual. She even wanted to go all the way with him and then never see him again.

But Henry didn't make the move. He was still the same, kissing and touching, making sure they both felt good.

Grace had her pride. Since he didn't make a move, she couldn't ask him to. That night, she lay in his arms, quietly listening to his heartbeat.

"What are you thinking about?" Henry held her tighter, his voice gentle in the night. "You're different tonight."

Grace covered up and said, "Maybe I don't want to leave. This place is nice."

Henry chuckled softly and said, "If you like it, we can come back and stay longer next time, with Taylor and Avery. How about that?"

Grace didn't respond. She buried her face in his neck, already deciding to leave him.

She thought Henry might be upset, but a proud guy like him would never try to win back a woman.

To him, she wasn't that important. If she wasn't there, there'd still be Cynthia to make him happy.

Even though Grace had made up her mind, when it was time to leave, she still felt reluctant. She barely slept that night, staring out at the darkness, waiting for dawn.

Back in Evergreen City, Grace didn't go to the Montague Group.

She sent a resignation letter to the headquarters, and Celeste signed for it. It took Celeste a while to realize that Grace had quit.

Celeste thought, 'How did Mr. Montague not manage to win over Grace in a week?'

She took the letter and knocked on the door of the president's office.

Inside, Henry was in a bad mood. Grace hadn't come to the office, and her phone was off. He hadn't been able to reach her all morning and was about to grab his car keys to go find her when there was a knock on the door.

Celeste walked in, handed him the resignation letter, and said with a hint of amusement, "Mr. Montague, Grace resigned! Did you upset her in Harmony City?"

Henry opened the letter and said irritably, "How could I?"

The letter was formal and gave nothing away.

Henry glanced at it and put it down, then grabbed his coat and car keys to leave.

Behind him, Celeste spoke calmly, "Mr. Montague, I think you should give her a sense of security in your relationship. For men, breaking moral boundaries can be thrilling, but for women, it's often a painful struggle. I think she left because she couldn't reconcile her feelings with her morals. If she hadn't lost her memory and was sure she didn't have a husband, she wouldn't have left."
