Chapter 626 Samuel Goes Crazy: Taylor, Who Is He? 4

Taylor jerked her hand away from his grasp.

She looked at Samuel quietly, then asked, "Samuel, given our current relationship, do you really think I need to track your movements? You and Zenobia are practically joined at the hip, playing house near her apartment, buying her property, arranging her affairs—I could have you charged with bigamy."

"But Samuel, I don't want to burn all our bridges. I have better things to do with my life," she added.

Samuel's temper flared instantly.

He seized Taylor's hands, gripping them tightly as he stared into her eyes, speaking each word deliberately, "Taylor, it's always about your life, your career. Have you ever considered my feelings? Have you ever thought that I might need the warmth of a home and a woman's care?"

Taylor refused to let him manipulate her.

She laughed coldly. "Haven't you gotten all of that from Zenobia? Samuel, what are you raving about now? What more could you possibly want? You have wealth and freedom—all that's left is to make it official with Zenobia. She's invested so much in you; don't you owe her that much?"

Samuel stared at her with burning intensity.

Taylor's cold smile faded.

She looked at Samuel with neither joy nor sorrow, even speaking gently, "Samuel, I'm exhausted. We've had chances to reconcile over the years, but every time Zenobia calls, she pulls you away. I'm not just your wife, Samuel—I'm responsible for running a hospital and countless patients' lives. I can't let my emotions be constantly disrupted by you; it would make me someone I despise. The fact that I can even have this conversation with you today shows I still want us to part on good terms."

Samuel staggered back, deflated.

After a long moment, he said through gritted teeth, "So I'm the ungrateful one, is that it?"

Taylor remained matter-of-fact. "I never said that."

But Samuel didn't believe her.

Samuel was convinced that Taylor's sudden change had to be because of someone else.

Yes, it had to be that Julian.

Only Julian had that kind of influence. Just thinking about the adoration in Julian's eyes made Samuel sick, and the thought of Taylor sharing a bed with Julian after their divorce, making love with him—the mere imagination made him want to kill.

His rage transformed into possessive desire.

Taylor was still his wife; she had an obligation to satisfy his needs. Samuel lunged toward her, kissing her lips frantically, caressing her perfectly sculpted body. She'd never had children, and her figure remained as alluring as ever, easily arousing his masculine hunger.

Lust consumed him, his eyes blazing with male possession.

Taylor wasn't about to indulge him.

Unable to break free, she endured Samuel's groping for a few moments while her hand searched the nearby cabinet. She remembered there was a vase there—narrow-necked, perfect for striking.

A sharp crash echoed through the room.

The fragments cut into Samuel's skull, nearly splitting his head open.

Blood streamed down his forehead, looking ghastly in the darkness.

But Samuel ignored his wound, still pinning Taylor down, his eyes filled with bitter anguish. "How far have you two gone? Are you saving yourself for him?"

"You're insane! Samuel, just because you let your crotch do the thinking doesn't mean everyone else is as vile as you! Julian is just a high school classmate—we're completely innocent, unlike you and Zenobia."

Mentioning Zenobia left a bitter taste in Taylor's mouth.

Women understood women, and she could easily see through Zenobia's schemes. But she had no intention of warning Samuel—let him fall into Zenobia's trap.

Samuel remained unconvinced. Julian was too accomplished, too worthy of Taylor.

He demanded Taylor swear she would never have an improper relationship with Julian.

Taylor stood up and turned on the lights.

Standing amid the wreckage, she looked down at Samuel coldly, her beautiful lips forming a few cutting words, "Samuel, have you completely lost your mind?"
