Chapter 434 Do You Still Remember, You Are Nicole's Mom?
Matthew walked over slowly. "The Moore family's business is none of your concern, Mr. Windsor."
Oliver pulled Sarah behind him, staring directly into Matthew's sharp eyes without backing down. "Her last name is Miller! And even if we're no longer married, she's still family. She's the mother of my child, and that will never change!"
Matthew sneered. "So, Mr. Windsor, you insist on getting involved?"
Oliver sneered back, half-forcing Sarah to leave with him.
Jeremy and his family of three, sensing the tension, quickly made their exit.
The room fell into an eerie silence.
Matthew's face was dark and menacing as he turned to Nicholas, his voice icy. "You still have feelings for her? Nicholas, have you forgotten you're married with children? How can I trust you with the family business when you act so irresponsibly?"
Nicholas laughed coldly. "And what about you?"
"You accuse me of forgetting my responsibilities, but have you forgotten you're a father? You had a fling, and now you expect her to be thrilled to be the daughter of the powerful Matthew Moore? Do you really think she wants to come back? She's doing fine on her own. Do you want her back because you miss her, or because you hope she stays away to protect the Moore family's reputation and your own wealth and status?"
Nicholas's words earned him a slap from Matthew.
At that moment, a slender figure appeared at the door—it was Nicholas's wife, Hestia Sharp.
Earlier that evening, Nicholas had left home in a hurry. Worried, Hestia had followed him, only to witness this scene. She gasped, "Nicholas..."
The room was brightly lit, but Nicholas's eyes were dark and brooding.
Hestia stood frozen.
Oliver pushed Sarah into the bathroom. She stumbled against the sink as he locked the door behind them.
Oliver's demeanor changed completely. He revealed his true self, speaking crudely. "One man isn't enough for you? You had to go on a date? Still hung up on someone like Jeremy?"
Sarah struggled. "Oliver, you know that's not true."
He ignored her protests.
Her slender hips pressed against his belt, the scene indecent.
His blue eyes were intense and filled with desire. "You considered Jeremy. Why not consider me?"
"Oliver, what are you saying?"
Oliver leaned in, his breath hot and intimidating. "What do you think? I want to sleep with you, do what a man and woman do."
He used Jeremy to provoke her, but deep down, he was really bothered by the man on the phone that night, someone Sarah seemed close to.
As he revealed his true intentions, Sarah was about to react.
But Oliver stepped back, regaining his composure. "Sorry, Ms. Miller. I had too much to drink... I lost control."
Sarah was still trembling, feeling humiliated.
Just then, Zoey's voice came from outside. "Mr. Windsor, Nicole called. She wants to know when you'll be home. She needs you to check her homework."
Sarah was still recovering when Oliver opened the door.
Zoey walked in with the phone, surprised by the scene. Regaining her composure, she smiled at Sarah. "Long time no see."
Sarah was moved. "Yes, it's been a while. Thanks to you and Claire for taking care of Nicole all these years."
Nicole's soft voice came through the phone. Zoey listened for a moment, then handed the phone to Sarah. "Nicole wants to talk to you."
Sarah took the phone, her fingers trembling. She carefully placed it to her ear, hearing Nicole's sweet voice. "Are you my mom? Are you my mommy?"
Sarah choked up. After a moment, she managed to speak. "Yes, I'm your mom. I'm your mommy."
Oliver stood quietly nearby, his face expressionless, emotions suppressed. "You remember you're Nicole's mom? When you left, she wouldn't sleep at night. Every year on your birthday, she would... she would..."
He didn't finish, walking out of the bathroom instead.
After a moment, his voice came from outside. "Let's go. Don't you want to see her?"
