Chapter 319 This Would Be Her Last Spring with Jacob

In the evening, they rolled back with the car stuffed to the max.

As they hopped out, the other servants rushed over to help with the bags, saying, "Mrs. Windsor's in a great mood today. She bought a ton of clothes for Jacob, and even some yarn!"

Sarah held Jacob, kissed him, and smiled softly, "I want to knit a scarf for Jacob. It's chilly in Evergreen City, and this will keep him warm."

One of the servants chuckled, "Jacob's not even a year old yet! Gray seems a bit grown-up for him."

Sarah, a bit lost in thought, pressed her cheek to Jacob's and murmured, "Then I'll make it bigger, so he can wear it when he goes to school. A more muted color will last longer."

The servant didn't catch on and just smiled, "Mrs. Windsor, you really know how to stretch a dollar."

Sarah gave a faint smile, took Jacob for a stroll in the garden, and picked a tulip for him. Jacob loved it. This would be her last spring with him.

That night, after Jacob fell asleep with a belly full of milk, Oliver still hadn't come home. Sarah took a bath and lounged on the bedroom couch. When her lower abdomen started hurting, she popped three painkillers. Feeling a bit better, she went back to studying the knitting pattern for the scarf.

She wanted to finish it for Jacob before summer hit.

Meanwhile, Oliver was at a party and bumped into Ellie. They hadn't seen each other since splitting up in Dawnstar. But in the business world, rumors fly. Oliver had heard Ellie found a rich guy who was head over heels for her and even wanted to marry her.

Tonight, Ellie was with that rich guy.

When they crossed paths, Oliver's face was stone cold. To him, their time together was ancient history. She had been a mess, and he hadn't been any better. They were square now.

So, they didn't even say hi.

Around 10 PM, Oliver was ready to bounce. Zoey noticed he'd had too much to drink and suggested he crash in a temporary room to sober up.

Feeling a bit woozy, Oliver agreed.

Zoey set him up in a suite, got him settled, and then went out to grab some sobering meds.

Oliver leaned back on the couch, staring at the crystal chandelier above, thinking of Sarah.

After a bit, the light got too bright, so he covered his eyes with the back of his hand.

Just then, the door creaked open. A tall, sexy figure slipped in. Soon, a pair of soft arms wrapped around his neck, and a woman's voice purred, "Oliver."

Oliver opened his eyes and saw it was Ellie. She boldly plopped down on his lap, pressing herself against him, teasing. Oliver ignored her. He pulled out a pack of cigarettes, shook one out, and lit it.

As the light blue smoke curled up, he squinted at Ellie in his arms. One hand toyed with her, his tone casual and indifferent, "Got a man and still daring to cheat? Aren't you scared he'll find out?"

Last time they split, it was ugly. But they had been together for two years and knew each other's bodies inside out.

Ellie felt it right away. She sat on his lap, soaking up the pleasure Oliver was giving and wanting more. She snuggled against his neck, whispering, "You're so hot!"

Oliver pulled her hand away, not letting her touch him. Ellie didn't care. She tossed her head, her red lips brushing against his, kissing him here and there, "He's generous, but how can a young guy compare to you? I'm never satisfied sexually."

Ellie finished, her eyes all seductive and inviting.

Oliver knew what was coming next was mutual, and no one had to take the blame. Maybe he wasn't super into it, but Ellie was all in, so she started undoing his belt. But Oliver stopped her.

Ellie looked up at him, and in his eyes, there was that unique male lust. He didn't need to do much; she was already turned on.

Oliver turned to put out his cigarette. He said coolly, "I don't want to mess up my clothes. I gotta head back later."

He let Ellie go down on him. His hands rested on the back of the couch, head tilted back, still staring at the crystal chandelier above. It swayed a bit, adding to the buzz from the booze and the woman. This was something he couldn't get with Sarah.

Oliver looked down at Ellie, grabbed her hair roughly. Ellie didn't get mad; she got even more into it.

Oliver didn't care. During his time in prison, he'd seen all kinds of people.

Outside the door, the sound of high heels clicked. Zoey was back.

Oliver knew it, but as a man enjoying himself, he didn't mind his secretary catching him in the act. Zoey was his secretary and knew her place.

Zoey stood outside the door, stunned by the scene. She thought, 'Oliver is with Ellie. Is he nuts? Isn't he scared Sarah will find out?'

Oliver wasn't scared. Because of Dylan, he was pissed at Sarah and needed to blow off some steam.

After they finished, he patted Ellie's face, zipped up his pants, and left.

At the suite door, Zoey trembled and asked softly, "Mr. Windsor, how should this be handled? A check or a gift?"

When Oliver played around, a check was a one-time thing, while a gift meant ongoing contact. So, Zoey asked.

Oliver's eyes still had a hint of the recent wildness. After a moment, he said, "Buy a diamond necklace."

Zoey wanted to say something but kept quiet, feeling a bit let down.

Zoey had thought bringing Sarah back from Dawnstar meant Oliver cared about her. She didn't expect him to flip back so fast.

In her heart, Zoey cursed him as a jerk. But on the surface, she stayed respectful, "Yes, Mr. Windsor! I'll take care of it."

As a woman, Zoey didn't look at Ellie's messy state. She despised Ellie.
