Chapter 421 Oliver is Full of Treasures 2
Sarah flung the door open.
Her eyes were wide with anticipation, and her heart was pounding so hard it felt like it might burst out of her chest. Her voice trembled a little as she spoke, "Oliver, what did they say? Did we find a match?"
Oliver didn't say a word.
He handed Sarah the envelope he was holding, his blue eyes filled with sorrow.
Sarah swayed on her feet.
The news hit her like a ton of bricks, and she had to hold onto the doorframe to keep from collapsing. She couldn't believe that out of dozens of relatives in the Mitchell family, not a single one was a match.
What would happen to her Nicole now?
Nicole was still waiting for her in the hospital.
Just then, the phone rang. It was a call from Evergreen City—Nicole wanted to talk to Sarah.
Sarah wiped away her tears and whispered, "I'm sorry! I lost my composure."
She walked over to the window to take the call.
She tried to keep her emotions in check so Nicole wouldn't know she had been crying, speaking softly and soothingly.
On the other end of the phone, Claire was helping Nicole with her words. Nicole's voice was weak but sweet. "Mommy, I miss you."
"Mommy misses you, too!"
Sarah's voice choked up as soon as she spoke.
After hanging up, she stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, tears streaming down her face.
She didn't know how to convince herself to accept this outcome. She didn't know how to face the future, how to face Nicole's innocent eyes, or what to tell Lester and his wife.
She just didn't know!
The hotel suite was silent, and Oliver watched her quietly from behind.
He knew she was crying.
He walked over to her, the thick wool carpet muffling his footsteps. By the time she noticed, he was already behind her, gently gripping her trembling shoulders. "Sarah, don't cry. Please, don't cry."
She turned around abruptly,
They were so close that she ended up falling into his arms. She didn't have time to pull away because he immediately held her shoulders and pulled her into his embrace.
He smelled familiar.
His shirt wasn't as fine as it used to be, and he was tanner and thinner, but none of that diminished his masculine charm. Above her face, his sexy Adam's apple moved as he murmured her name.
His voice was hoarse, filled with pain.
Sarah pressed against his muscular arm, trying to stand up straight, but he held her firmly, refusing to let her go, insisting she stay in his arms.
Sarah cried.
She cried in his arms, vulnerable and humiliated.
She cried so hard that it broke Oliver's heart.
He pressed her small head against his chest, gently stroking her hair like he used to when they were at their best, soothing her softly, "Don't cry. I'll think of something else."
Felicity had just finished entertaining a man.
She stepped out of the hotel elevator, a smug smile on her face as she played with a gold chain.
The man wasn't much in bed, but he was generous. The chain was thick, at least 80 grams, worth several thousand dollars!
She put the chain in her bag and was about to hail a cab.
A strong arm grabbed Felicity and dragged her into a nearby alley. Before she knew what was happening, she was slammed against the wall.
In front of her was Oliver's grim face.
Felicity tried to bluff, "What do you want?"
Oliver gripped her throat tightly, "Go to the hospital and get tested for a match with Nicole, or I don't know what I'll do to you!"
Felicity's face turned pale.
But her mind was clear.
Oliver wouldn't dare!
He wouldn't risk going to prison for life over killing a woman. She stared at him, struggling to speak, "Go ahead, kill me if you can!"
"Think I won't?"
His fingers tightened, and for a moment, it seemed like Felicity's bones might snap.
She kicked her legs frantically, her face turning purple.
She managed to croak out, "Promise me something, and I'll get tested."
Oliver released her suddenly.
She clutched her neck, gasping for air. Once she calmed down, she pulled a small pill from her bag and tossed it to Oliver, her eyes gleaming with a seductive smile, "Take this, and I'll go to the hospital."
Oliver was a man.
He wasn't stupid!
He could smell the scent of sex on Felicity and guessed she had completely fallen, trading her body for money. The pill she had was undoubtedly meant to enhance a man's performance.
She wanted to see him humiliated!
Sure enough, Felicity giggled, "I heard you've been saving yourself for Sarah. Take this, and let's see if you can still hold out. Once you lose control and sleep with a woman, will you still have the nerve to say you're waiting for her?"
Oliver's eyes filled with rage.
He broke open the pill and swallowed it, then shoved her into a cab.
Felicity was stunned.
She hadn't expected Oliver to actually take it!
She regretted it, pounding on the car window and screaming, "Oliver, do you think you're still the same Oliver? I'm not going to the hospital. I won't get tested for that kid... Why should I? Why should I donate my bone marrow?"
Oliver yanked her hair.
He leaned close to her ear and growled, "If you go back on your word, I'll snap your neck right now."
Felicity started sobbing in fear.
The Oliver she used to know was noble and dangerous.
But the man in front of her was wild and brutal. She did not doubt that if she didn't go, he would tear her apart.
She cried in the car. She didn't dare provoke Oliver anymore. The lingering resentment she had for him vanished, replaced by pure terror.
When they arrived at the hospital, he dragged her to the hematology department by her hair.
From that moment on, Oliver became Felicity's nightmare.
But as Oliver left the hospital, he was barely holding himself together.
The pill's effects were strong.
His healthy body had never experienced anything like it, and one pill was enough to drive him crazy especially since he hadn't been with a woman for months.
When he returned to the hotel, he desperately wanted a woman.
No, he didn't just want any woman!
He wanted Sarah!
Oliver tilted his head back slightly, his Adam's apple moving restlessly.
Just then, the doorbell rang, and Sarah's voice came from outside, "Oliver, I need to talk to you."
