Chapter 288 A Premonition That Made Grace Uneasy
Grace's heart was pounding. She never imagined Henry would want another kid with her.
He already had a son and a daughter. Especially Taylor, who was 8 and still remembered her biological mom. Taylor might not be thrilled about a new sibling, and besides, the gap between their worlds made Grace hesitant to even consider it.
She looked at Henry and, after a moment, softly said, "Henry."
Henry didn't say anything, just gently touched her cheek.
The night was super quiet, and with just the two of them in the car, it was hard not to think about what happened yesterday. After a while, Grace couldn't take it anymore and turned her face away, softly reminding him, "The light's green."
Henry smiled and gently pressed the gas pedal, but he didn't head towards the apartment. About five minutes later, he pulled up in front of a pharmacy.
He unbuckled his seatbelt and said, "I'm gonna grab something."
Grace didn't think much of it.
As Henry got out, she sat in the passenger seat, quietly watching his tall figure.
At that moment, Grace still couldn't believe she was really with Henry and that they were already so close. Just a couple of months ago, they were strangers.
Grace wasn't dumb. She knew she had fallen for him so quickly because Henry had deliberately seduced her. But why? Was it just because he liked her?
Could they have had a past she forgot? Grace thought about it a lot, but she never considered that she was originally his wife, Taylor and Avery's mom, and Henry's lover.
Lost in thought, Henry got back in the car. He had two small boxes in his hand, not in a plastic bag, so it was easy to see they were condoms.
Grace blushed and looked away.
Henry put the items in the glove compartment, buckled his seatbelt, and asked softly, "Are you shy?"
Grace softly replied, "Yeah."
Henry held her hand and said, "It's normal for adults to have desires. And since we're dating with marriage in mind, there's no need to feel guilty about it."
Grace knew all this, but she just wasn't used to it.
All the way, her face was red, and she didn't dare to look at those two boxes. In her silence, she couldn't help but think about whether he was also so indulgent with his wife in the past, whether he also made those husky moans when he couldn't control himself.
Just thinking about it made her uncomfortable, as if she had stolen something from someone else.
A few minutes later, the car drove into a low-density upscale neighborhood. Henry still had to leave later, so he didn't go into the underground garage but parked directly under the apartment building.
The car engine stopped, and Henry unbuckled his seatbelt.
Grace's heart raced.
Henry looked at her, his eyes full of mischief. After a moment, he said softly, "Let's head upstairs."
The apartment wasn't fully set up yet.
Grace had moved some of her stuff over, and just that afternoon, she had made the bed.
But clearly, Henry was in a hurry. He didn't wait to get to the bedroom before getting close to Grace.
The room was warm like spring.
The white bedroom door shook violently. They were completely lost in each other. Last night, they were a bit awkward and reserved, but tonight they were really into it.
Grace caressed Henry's neck, almost unable to hold onto him. His skin was slick with sweat.
Sweat trickled down Henry's sexy Adam's apple to where they were joined, creating a glistening, irresistibly seductive scene. Grace softly sighed, "Henry, slow down!"
He couldn't slow down. But he still considered her feelings, grabbing her wrists and wrapping them around his waist.
He slowed down a bit, looked down at her, and made her look at him.
He pressed against her red lips, whispering, "Grace, look at me. It feels better when you look at me."
Grace didn't dare to look. She didn't dare to look at him, much less at the scene of their lovemaking.
A woman's shyness could sometimes be like a poison, making a man even more insatiable. Besides, Henry hadn't been with her in a long time, and yesterday's few times hadn't satisfied him at all.
His desire grew more intense, and the door shook violently.
As the tide surged, Grace tightly held onto Henry, and countless images flashed through her mind.
——FLASHBACK——
"Henry, I want to go out and work."
"You want a divorce? The Montague Family isn't a place you can come and go as you please. Mrs. Montague, everything has a price, including marriage."
Grace desperately tried to grasp those memories, but they flashed by. Her eyes were left with only the emptiness after satisfaction.
Afterwards, she lay in Henry's arms.
After two intense rounds, Henry's chest heaved violently. He hadn't yet recovered from the satisfaction. After a short rest, he gently asked, "One more time?"
Grace gently shook her head, her face pressed against his smooth chest, her eyes filled with confusion.
In her mind, the voice saying "Mrs. Montague" lingered. It was very familiar, as if someone had called her that a thousand times, but it didn't feel sweet. Instead, it brought a tinge of heartache.
A premonition made Grace anxious.
She and Henry had progressed too quickly, too naturally.
How could a man like Henry fall in love at first sight, especially with a woman like her who had nothing?
After the passion, Grace felt cold and uneasy. She didn't even dare to seek the answer.
