Chapter 453 Oliver Protects His Wife: Sarah Is My Woman 2

In the evening, Sarah went to pick up Jacob from school.

As she was about to get into the car with Jacob, a familiar voice called out, "Hey, Ms. Miller, can we talk for a sec?"

Sarah turned and saw Aaron standing next to Matthew.

Aaron was dressed in a suit, looking every bit the gentleman, with two men in black suits behind him, clearly Matthew's bodyguards. They also addressed Sarah as "Ms. Miller."

Sarah knew this wasn't a friendly visit.

She smiled faintly. "No need for the formalities."

Aaron, however, remained respectful and polite. "Ms. Miller, since you came back, you haven't visited home. Mr. Moore misses you a lot. He's asking you to come to his office."

Sarah knew she had no choice but to go, or those two men in black wouldn't be just for show.

She thought for a moment and then said to Aaron, "I'll go see him, but Aaron, you need to take Jacob home. If anything happens to Jacob, I'll come straight for you."

Aaron agreed immediately. "Ms. Miller, you have my word."

Sarah knelt down, adjusted Jacob's little backpack, and gently touched his face. "Mommy has to go see someone. Aaron will take you home first."

Jacob, who was seven, understood a bit of what was going on.

His delicate face showed a hint of fear. "Will they take your blood like they did to me last time?"

Aaron felt uncomfortable.

The last incident was indeed handled poorly by the Moore family. But as Matthew's personal secretary, what could he say?

Sarah smiled softly. "No, sweetheart, Mommy's a grown-up. I can take care of myself."

Jacob whispered, "It's only because Daddy is strong! Daddy can beat them up... If Daddy were here, I wouldn't be scared at all."

These words made Sarah's heart ache.

She asked Jacob, "Do you want to live with Daddy?"

Jacob nodded vigorously.

He thought for a moment and added, "I like my current Daddy. He loves me and Nicole... He always gets up at night to make milk for Nicole and puts her to sleep."

Sarah smiled slightly and didn't ask any more questions.

Half an hour later, she arrived at a quiet two-story house.

She opened the door and saw Matthew engrossed in his writing.

Matthew had been practicing calligraphy for decades, and his handwriting was strong and powerful. He didn't look up when he heard footsteps, only lifting his eyelids slightly. "You're here?"

Sarah walked up to him without answering.

Matthew put down his pen and called his personal secretary. "Bring a good cup of tea."

The female secretary glanced at Sarah, curious about her identity.

Matthew said, "She's my beloved daughter."

Sarah, however, said calmly, "Just call me Ms. Miller. I'm merely a distant relative of the Moore family."

The secretary was puzzled.

She didn't dare to ask more about her boss's private matters and went to make tea. Once she left, Matthew began to speak. "So, you don't acknowledge yourself as part of the Moore family or as my daughter anymore? Do you despise the Moore family that much? Has Nicholas become so unforgivable in your eyes?"

They finally laid everything out in the open.

Sarah didn't hold back. "Yes!"

She answered firmly and continued, "I am not worthy of the Moore family's status! Nicholas has never been unforgivable in my heart."

Her words had a deeper meaning, and Matthew caught on.

He sneered. "If he's not unforgivable, then I must be the unforgivable one in your eyes! Sending you away back then was a last resort. I thought you would understand... Now that you're back, you haven't even stepped into the Moore Mansion, but Nicholas and his wife are already at odds. He's never home, and his mother is sick with worry."

Sarah shot back, "Shouldn't you be telling him this?"

Matthew was about to respond when the secretary returned with the tea and placed it in front of Sarah. "Ms. Miller, please enjoy."

Sarah only nodded.

She didn't take a sip of the tea.

Matthew looked up and, after a brief pause, said, "Tomorrow, you'll bring Jacob and move back to the Moore Mansion. You'll remain a Moore. Don't worry about Nicholas and his wife—I'll have them live elsewhere."

Sarah listened, feeling numb.

She had once admired Matthew. When he was willing to protect her, he was a dependable father. But if she became his invisible enemy, he would turn cold immediately.

Having her return to the Moore Mansion was just for Nicholas.

She was still a pawn.

Sarah chuckled softly and looked at Matthew. "Is it really about me, or is it because you need to imprison me for Nicholas?"

Matthew's face darkened.

Sarah lowered her eyes. "It seems I've guessed the truth."

Matthew's expression twitched.

He looked at his once-beloved daughter, now avoiding him like the plague. He had his own selfish reasons, but he believed it was for the good of the Moore family. She could still be the eldest daughter of the Moore family. What more could she want?

Matthew's voice was low. "You keep saying I have no affection for you, but what about you? Have you ever thought about me as your father?"

"I've said it before, I don't deserve the Moore family's status."

"Sarah, you..."

Matthew was about to lose his temper when the secretary knocked on the door. "Mr. Moore, Mr. Windsor is here!"

Matthew was furious. "Which Mr. Windsor?"

Before the secretary could answer,

The door opened, and Oliver walked in.

Oliver glanced at Sarah first, and seeing she was fine, he smiled, looking relaxed and natural. "In Evergreen City, who else but me could be your esteemed son-in-law and honored guest?"

Matthew squinted. "I remember, you and Sarah are divorced."

Oliver spoke calmly, "Divorced couples can remarry. Besides, we still share a bed. It's only a matter of time."

Matthew was shaken.

He looked at Sarah, his heart aching. "Sarah, between me and the man who hurt you deeply... who will you choose? If you come back to the Moore family, I promise you a peaceful life."

As soon as he finished, Sarah spoke. "Sorry, Mr. Moore."

She said nothing more, just took Oliver's hand and whispered, "Oliver, let's go."

Matthew's veins bulged.

He turned sharply, looking at Sarah's back, and painfully squeezed out, "Sarah, don't regret this!"

""I won't regret it! I will never step into the Moore family home again! Mr. Moore... goodbye forever!"
