Chapter 330 Sarah, Let's Live Well Together from Now On

Sarah gave a bitter smile.

Grace looked at her and thought she seemed way too thin.

Grace asked softly, "Have you had a check-up? Jacob is important, but you need to take care of yourself too. Tomorrow, I'll have Henry arrange a full-body check-up for you."

Sarah gently declined, saying she had already been checked and that she was fine, asking Grace not to worry. She even managed a faint smile as she spoke.

Lowering her head, Sarah slowly stirred her coffee and spoke softly, "Actually, I have something else to ask of you. As long as Ellie and those women are around, Jacob and I will never have peace. If something happens to me, I want you to take care of Jacob."

Sarah looked up and gazed at Grace.

Sarah's expression was serious as she continued, "I mean, make Jacob your and Henry's son, and give him your last name. Henry loves children; I think he would be a good father."

As for Grace, Sarah had no worries. Grace was Jacob's aunt and had always loved him dearly.

Grace was shocked and tightly gripped Sarah's hand. "This will pass! Why say such discouraging words? You and Jacob will be fine. Besides, whether Jacob is my son or not, Henry and I will love him dearly. Don't worry."

But Sarah kept insisting. After much deliberation, Grace agreed.

She said, "I promise you, if you can't take care of Jacob, I'll bring him into our home and treat him like Taylor and Avery. Henry will raise him as his own son."

Sarah cried tears of joy. "Grace, thank you so much. I can never repay you."

Grace's eyes were also filled with tears. "I don't want you to repay me. I just want you to be well. It doesn't even matter if you're with Oliver or not. I just want you and Jacob to be okay! Promise me you'll take care of yourself."

Sarah smiled, but it was a wry smile. She couldn't promise Grace anymore.

In the evening, Henry came to pick her up.

Grace sat in the car, silent. At the intersection, the light turned red, and Henry slowly stopped the car.

He turned to her, gently touched her eyes, and asked softly, "Why have you been crying?"

Grace recounted the events. Looking at Henry's handsome face, she murmured, "I just feel uneasy. Henry, please arrange for Sarah to have a full-body check-up so I can be at ease."

Henry nodded, "OK. I'll arrange it."

The light turned green, and the traffic started moving.

Henry, holding the steering wheel, said calmly, "Call Oliver later. Tell him to pay more attention to Sarah. Even though she's Dylan's sister, she's married to him and gave birth to Jacob. That's a bond that can't be broken."

Henry, understanding men well, could see that Oliver truly liked Sarah. Otherwise, Jacob wouldn't have been born.

Grace nodded and leaned back in the leather seat, feeling too low to speak.

Henry's warm hand gently held hers, but his face stayed serious.

That night, Henry set up a full-body check-up for Sarah.

Late at night, a nurse came in with the paperwork. Oliver was there too.

The nurse smiled and said, "This is Mrs. Windsor's check-up paperwork. Mr. Montague personally arranged it with the best doctors and equipment in the hospital. Mrs. Windsor, remember to fast before the check-up at 8 AM."

Oliver took the paperwork and nodded.

After the nurse left, he looked through the thick stack of papers and, trying to get Sarah to talk, said, "They'll need to draw several vials of blood. Since you're afraid of pain, I'll stay with you."

Sarah didn't want the check-up, but she knew her time was running out. It didn't matter if Oliver found out now, so she didn't refuse.

Seeing her calm demeanor, Oliver thought she had come to terms with things. Feeling softened, he walked over and hugged her from behind, saying, "Sarah, let's live well from now on."

Sarah pulled away. She didn't argue with him, fearing it would scare Jacob. She wanted to spend her remaining time watching Jacob grow.

She thought that when she was gone, Grace would take care of Jacob.

Her Jacob deserved a life of peace and joy.

Oliver, feeling rejected, was somewhat disappointed.

He sat on the couch, flipping through a magazine, and glanced at Sarah. She was way too thin. He thought she should have a thorough check-up tomorrow. Once her health improved, her mood would naturally get better. Then they could have another child, and their relationship would return to what it once was.

Back then, Sarah had loved him deeply.

Lost in thought, Oliver's phone rang. It was Ellie.

He frowned slightly but stepped outside to take the call. Ellie's voice, sounding drunk and desperate, said, "I just drank and took antibiotics. I feel terrible, Oliver. Am I going to die? Maybe it's better if I die. Then I won't feel the pain, won't remember you don't love me, won't recall that humiliating night."

Oliver tensed up. "Are you crazy?"

"I'm not crazy! You refuse to see me! You say you want to return to your family. Then I'll just die. If I die, I won't affect you anymore."

Oliver cursed. He hung up, grabbed his car keys, and sped off. As he drove, he remembered the video the detective had shown him of Ellie being abused and raped by three men.

Then he softened. He was willing to give her a break. He didn't want her to die.

But in rushing to save Ellie, Oliver forgot his promise to Sarah.

He had promised her to stay with her and live well from now on.

The night wind was chilly. In the ward, the door was gently pushed open by the wind.

The thick stack of check-up papers was blown to the floor, scattered everywhere.
