Chapter 497 Sarah's Baby Arrives Early

Calliope was actually pretty anxious inside.

But when she looked down at Nicole's sweet, innocent face, she felt reassured.

She couldn't bear to part with this child.

She didn't want Nicole to be left alone. Even if someone else adopted her later, Nicole wouldn't be close to them. So, she decided to do the right thing.

Sarah had important business to attend to and entrusted Nicole to Calliope's care. Calliope assured her, "Don't worry, Nicole's safe with me."

Sarah nodded gratefully.

She left quickly, and Nicole watched her go before burying her head in Calliope's embrace.

Calliope felt complete.

Sarah took 20 bodyguards with her to handle her business.

At 4 PM.

The city's art gallery was buzzing with high society. Octavius held a champagne glass, exuding confidence. His high status and charming looks attracted many socialites and ladies eager to catch a glimpse of him.

Octavius basked in the attention.

At the entrance, Sarah walked in alone, having made other arrangements for her bodyguards.

The doorman didn't recognize her and asked for her invitation.

Sarah took out the invitation Calliope had given her from her handbag and calmly said, "I'm a friend of Calliope."

"A friend of Calliope?"

The doorman's demeanor changed. He returned the invitation to Sarah, saying, "A friend of Calliope! Please, use the VIP entrance."

Despite being pregnant, Sarah carried herself with an air of authority.

She approached Octavius and interrupted him, "Octavius, you're hard to find."

Octavius was taken aback, "How did you get in here?"

Sarah's eyes darkened.

She had prepared for this day when she sought Calliope's help.

Nicole had been coached on what to say. Sarah felt guilty; she had promised Calliope she wouldn't use Nicole to gain leverage, but today she had exploited Calliope's affection to achieve her goal.

Without needing to explain, Octavius understood, "It's my wife."

Octavius treated Sarah differently.

But in this critical moment, he remained rational. With a glance, his bodyguards prepared to take Sarah down.

From then on, Harmony City would truly belong to Octavius.

Octavius and Matthew had agreed to stay out of each other's way.

Just as he gave the order, Sarah shouted, "Who dares to move!

"Octavius, can you handle the consequences? My 20 bodyguards are scattered around this building, and I have 5,000 copies of the transaction record. If I don't give the signal by 4:10 PM, my bodyguards will distribute those copies everywhere.

"Will you still be able to stand here, admired by women? Octavius, we can gamble on this. I can lose my husband, but you could be shot in the next second!""I can lose my husband, but you could be shot in the next second!"

Sarah was about to give birth, but her presence overwhelmed Octavius.

Whispers filled the room.

Octavius trembled, unable to believe Sarah would go to such lengths. She had come here determined to bring him down with her.

He fought like a cornered beast.

Sarah began counting down, "9, 8, 7."

Octavius was desperate.

He had planned for so long, he couldn't let his foolish wife ruin everything. With so many people watching, his career was nearly over. Now, he had to protect his life and position, and spend the next few years lying low.

Octavius made his decision.

He immediately told Sarah, "I'll call and make my stance clear, delivering the final blow to Matthew!"

The room fell silent.

Octavius didn't even try to hide such private matters?

He wanted to, but the situation left him no choice. He urgently pledged loyalty to Sarah, but she wasn't buying it.

"Too late," she said softly, then added, "I have two demands: first, make the call and state your position; second, resign immediately after. You probably don't know, but I've already chosen someone to replace you!"

Octavius was incredulous. "Who could replace me?"

Sarah's lips curled slightly. "Percival, your most trusted person."

Octavius was shaken to his core.

He couldn't believe Percival would betray him and take his place.

Sarah's expression was calm, with the indifference of someone in control.

"He hasn't betrayed you yet, but if I give him the chance, he will."

"No one knows the ugliness of human nature better than you, Octavius. You've always been greedy, haven't you? Always craving fame, wealth, and dignity!"

Octavius was sweating profusely. He squeezed out a few words through gritted teeth, "You're insane."

But he valued his life. He was used to luxury,

He didn't have the courage to go down fighting.

Even if he lost his position, he still had money. His wife's account in a Swiizarland bank held billions of dollars, enough for him to live lavishly for the rest of his life.

He made the call, delivering a blow to Matthew.

After saying the last word, he hung up, looking at the room full of elites. He longed for power and the admiration of others, but it was all over now.

Octavius swallowed hard.

He was about to announce his resignation when Sarah spoke calmly, "You have a good wife! I'm willing to give you another chance!"

Octavius could hardly believe it.

Sarah continued, "Trust is everything. I'll let this slide, but your partnership with Mr. Windsor ends here. From now on, you'll each go your own way."

Octavius could have enjoyed a life of freedom and pleasure, but Sarah's manipulation pulled him back into loyalty. He pleaded for her forgiveness, promising never to make the same mistake again, and even suggested strengthening ties with the Windsor family.

Sarah laughed coldly.

She had investigated and found that Calliope was indeed infertile, but Octavius was also unable to have children. Otherwise, with his numerous affairs, he would have had many children outside his marriage.

Her laugh made Octavius uncomfortable.

At the door, Percival rushed in with shocking news, "Matthew has been arrested."

The room erupted.

Matthew, who had dominated for so long, was finally caught!

Sarah felt a mix of emotions.

Her history with the Moore family, the grudges and conflicts, surged like a tide, overwhelming her.

Finally, the day had come.

She should feel relieved, but her emotions were complex, and with her husband's whereabouts unknown, she couldn't be happy.

Sarah quietly left.

The long hallway was lined with cold tiles, chilling even in the summer.

Sarah walked with difficulty, her hand on the cold wall, remembering the year Matthew came to her apartment and said, "Dad will solve everything for you."

Tears streamed down her face.

Sarah looked up slightly.

With tears in her eyes, she smiled softly.

Suddenly, a sharp pain hit her abdomen. The baby was coming early.
