Chapter 93 The Investor Turns Out to Be Henry!

Grace's smile faded.

She turned away just in time as the little dog licked her neck, making her giggle. She dodged a bit and ended up burying her face in Henry's neck, her voice playful, "Henry, get it off me."

Henry took the puppy but kept holding her.

He pressed against her, his deep eyes showing restraint. He leaned close and asked softly, "Is this okay?"

Grace's face turned red, her voice shaky. "No!"

Henry held her for a bit, then let go after calming down. Straightening his shirt and pants, he said, "I have an important meeting this morning. See you tonight."

"I have plans tonight," Grace quickly replied.

Henry chuckled, "Meeting Lucas?"

Grace didn't owe him an explanation but still said, "It's an investor Amara introduced. We're meeting to discuss details."

Henry put on his coat and asked, "Want me to take you?"

Grace said no.

Henry gently touched her reddened eyelids, his voice soft. "Afraid others will know you have a husband?"

"No!" she answered quickly.

Henry laughed, picked up Sherry, and said to the puppy, "Say goodbye to Mommy!"

Grace's face turned red with discomfort.

Henry left the room.

After he left, Grace tidied up the house. Half an hour later, she got breakfast and hangover medicine from Henry's people, along with a card from Henry.

He teasingly called her "Sherry's Mommy."

Grace leaned back on the sofa.

A puppy, breakfast, and a card—classic moves to woo a woman. She knew that.

Normally, she'd ignore it, but lately, he had saved Nathan and used his connections to help Juniper. Without Henry, her life would be a mess.

Grace was grateful.

She noticed he was different now, more considerate and gentle, and he hadn't forced her again. That time in the hospital, he had pinned her down but held back, and instead, Grace had felt a woman's satisfaction.

Clara's words, "Should you reconsider your marriage with Henry," echoed in her mind.

Grace lowered her eyes, her long lashes trembling. Since she and Henry had separated, it was the first time her heart had quietly wavered.

Grace spent the day with Juniper. In the evening, she got a call from Amara.

"Don't forget tonight's dinner, Grace. The investor is very sincere," Amara said.

Grace replied, "I won't forget. Thanks, Amara."

She hung up and turned around, but Juniper spoke first, "Go take care of your business. You don't need to stay with me all the time! I can hear now, and my appetite is good!"

Her eyes were slightly wet. "One of us has to achieve our dreams! Grace, I'm still waiting to see you shine."

Grace hugged Juniper and whispered, "I will!"

Juniper smiled through her tears. "Go on!"

Grace went home to change.

When she arrived at the club, the waiter led her to private room 2201. The room was nice, spacious, and tastefully decorated.

Amara was already there, ordering food. When she saw Grace, she said, "I couldn't decide, and you came just in time! Help me choose something suitable. The guest is quite picky."

Grace sat beside her, lowered her eyes, and suggested, "In this weather, the French oxtail soup is a good choice, and this one too."

Amara agreed. She told the waiter, "These will do! Another guest will be here soon, so you can start serving now."

The waiter nodded and left.

When they were alone, Amara brought up a personal topic. "On my way here, I heard Caleb talking on the phone. Frank is having a hard time with his fiancée because of your friend. On the night of their engagement, he called several young celebrities to the club, which really upset Vincent Cavendish!"

Amara sighed, "Men are just like that! They might be crazy about you now, but in two months, will they even remember you? Relying on men isn't as important as having your own money."

Grace felt a pang in her heart. She thought of Juniper's lost hearing, her own sleepless nights, and all of it was only worth $8 million.

Amara saw her expression and didn't continue.

The waiter came in with the food, lightening the mood. Amara and Grace chatted about everyday topics.

Then a voice came from outside. "Mr. Montague, this way, to private room 2201."

Grace was stunned.

The door opened, and there stood Henry. He was tall, leaning against the door, and as he stepped in, he unbuttoned his coat and said to Amara, "Sorry! Traffic delayed me."

His every move was pleasing to the eye.

Even Amara couldn't help but admire him. "No problem! I was just chatting with Mrs. Montague."

Henry sat next to Grace and looked at her.

She had dressed up, wearing a champagne-colored silk blouse. Perhaps because Henry's gaze was too intense, Grace uncomfortably brushed her hair aside. Then, a piece of salmon appeared on the small plate in front of her.

Henry looked at her intently, his voice gentle. "The blouse looks nice! Is it new?"

Amara smiled warmly. "You young ones are so affectionate!"

Henry, with his charming demeanor, replied, "I hope I haven't made a fool of myself in front of you!"

He was well-bred and handled everything with ease. By the end of the meal, Amara was quite satisfied. Although she had her own motives for Felix, she genuinely hoped Grace would be happy.

As Amara was leaving, she said to Grace, "Don't blame me for keeping it from you; it was Henry who asked me to."

Grace smiled slightly. The entanglements between her and Henry were not something she could blame others for.

Henry saw Amara off and then returned to sit down, unbuttoning two buttons on his shirt. The white shirt was still crisp but now had a touch of casual sexiness.

Grace remained silent.

Henry served her some food and, leaning in, looked at her, asking, "Are you angry because you saw it was me?"

"No!" Grace ate quietly, and after a while, she said softly, "Henry, I don't need your investment!"

He gently rolled up his shirt sleeves, his tone still very gentle. "Don't want to spend my money? Last time you came back, you told me that my money is marital property. Why so distant now?"

Grace looked up at him.

Her delicate face under the light was very exquisite, but her eyes were a bit red.

She said, "You know why!"

Henry leaned back, looking at her profile, his voice equally soft. "I don't know! I only know that I can't bear to see my wife dolled up for cash, meeting a stranger, pretending to enjoy it all! Grace, I not only get jealous, but I also feel heartache."
