Chapter 432 After Many Years, A Long-Awaited Reunion

With a black umbrella and in a black dress, she stood in the rain like a painting.

After four years, she finally came back.

On her second day back in Evergreen City, while sorting through old belongings, she suddenly remembered that day four years ago when Oliver had asked to meet her, saying he had something important to tell her.

That year, she was forced to leave.

She hadn't forgotten, but the changes came so quickly and fiercely that her rekindled feelings for Oliver seemed insignificant in comparison.

There was a faint regret and a bit of longing.

But Sarah never regretted it.

After all these years, she came to this restaurant to resolve her regrets from then and, more importantly, to say goodbye to her past self. Four years had passed, and she thought it was time for both of them to let go.

The rain kept falling,

Puddles formed on the road, reflecting the silhouettes of people!

A blurry face.

Oliver's whole body trembled.

He couldn't believe it, staring at that slender figure, all his impulses suddenly became intense. The world was silent, but his ears were deafening.

She came back!

Sarah came back!

She actually came back...

She still remembered this place, and she still remembered that he had asked to meet her here, but she was four years late. Four years, through so many changes, how many times had he come here?

She finally came back.

She walked past him so calmly, as if she had never left, as if the four years of separation were just a dream.

Something hot and burning fell.

Oliver looked up and held back.

He walked to the restaurant entrance and borrowed an umbrella from the manager. The manager was stunned: "Mr. Windsor, aren't you waiting anymore? You usually wait until after midnight."

Oliver opened the umbrella and had already chased after her.

A moment later, his voice drifted back: "I've already waited long enough."

The manager thought of the beautiful woman from earlier.

Was she the one Mr. Windsor had been waiting for?

On the rainy night, Oliver followed Sarah to a parking lot.

A champagne-colored BMW was parked there.

Sarah closed her umbrella, opened the car door, and was about to leave.

Suddenly, her gaze froze.

A few feet away, Oliver stood under a banyan tree with his umbrella, the tree blocking most of the light, making his face appear shadowy and indistinct.

He looked dignified, like his old self.

His deep eyes looked at her calmly, with a hidden glimmer.

A moonless rainy night, a night of reunion.

Sarah's body trembled slightly for a long time..

He slowly walked towards her, though it was only a few feet, it felt like a century. He came to her side, holding the black umbrella over her head.

The rain sounded like tearing thin fabric.

Their faces were cold with rainwater and with a touch of unfamiliarity.

Four years had turned them into half-strangers.

"You're back?" Oliver's voice was soft, hoarse, carried away by the night wind. His hair, tousled by the breeze, brushed against the collar of his white shirt, looking almost unreal.

For a long time, Sarah couldn't speak.

Finally, she responded softly, "Yeah, I'm back."

Oliver stared into her eyes as if he wanted to ask something, but in the end, he didn't.

He opened her car door, just as Sarah was about to do the same.

Their hands overlapped, a long-lost touch.

Sarah tried to pull her hand back, but Oliver quickly held it, stepping forward and trapping her between him and the car. He looked down at her, his blue eyes intense. "I'll take you home."

Sarah wanted to refuse, but Oliver firmly opened the car door, guiding her into the passenger seat. He quickly sat beside her, naturally fastening his seatbelt, and asked softly, "Where are you staying now? Still at the Moore Mansion?"

Sarah shook her head.

She told him the address of her apartment, a high-end place in the city.

Oliver sat in her car, smelling the faint scent of her perfume. His long fingers navigated on his phone, trying to stay calm, but his world was deafening.

All the sounds converged into one sentence.

[She's back!]

His movements were so pleasing to the eye.

Though he resented her, when she was by his side, he couldn't bear to blame her. He carefully savored their long-awaited reunion, even too shy to look at her still-beautiful face, afraid she'd think he was being too forward, afraid she'd think he was still the same impulsive man, even though he wanted to hold her, to possess her.

He stepped on the gas, driving towards her apartment.

They were quiet.

Oliver turned on the car's music.

It was a soft female voice, with a touch of romance.

He thought he should invite her to dinner, even though it was late.

He thought he should start a new relationship with her, no lies, no hatred—Just the two of them, Oliver and Sarah, starting a new chapter.

As he was contemplating how to start, Sarah's phone rang.

She didn't avoid him, answering directly.

On the other end was a pleasant male voice, gently asking, "Are you home yet?"

Sarah replied softly, "Almost there!"

Clearly, they were close. The man chuckled and told her to drive safely, then hung up.

Oliver gripped the steering wheel,

He restrained himself, asking in a casual tone, "In these four years, did you find a new boyfriend?"
