Chapter 287 In A Couple of Years, Let's Have a Child

They'd been through a lot, especially in their marriage, but this time felt different. It was like a passionate fling, no strings attached, just pure chemistry between a man and a woman.

Henry lit up a cigarette, leaned against the car, and took a slow drag.

The pale blue smoke drifted away in the evening breeze, making his face look even more striking in the twilight.

He took in everything around him, every blade of grass and piece of wood, feeling like they all seemed more alive because Grace was back!

His eyes wandered up, and he spotted someone on the terrace.

Grace stood out in the twilight, wearing a light yellow down jacket. Henry took a deep drag on his cigarette, then put it out with his long fingers. He turned and headed toward the entrance.

Grace met him in the hallway.

Henry brought a slight chill and a faint smell of tobacco with him. In the hallway, he gently pressed her against the wall and leaned in for a kiss.

Grace was a bit nervous, worried the kids might come out and see them. She whispered that they shouldn't do this here.

Henry lifted his leg, slowly rubbing against her. Under the crystal light in the hallway, his look was all desire. He murmured, "I've missed you all day."

Grace half-heartedly resisted, but then Henry, considering her feelings, let her go a bit. "Stay for dinner tonight? I'll take you back after."

Grace thought for a moment and agreed, "Okay. I can also check on Taylor's homework."

Hearing this, Henry chuckled lightly. His smile was very masculine and somewhat meaningful.

Grace smoothed her skirt, trying to cover up. "She didn't do well earlier; she needs to reinforce it."

Henry didn't tease her anymore. He helped her with the down jacket and carefully looked at her outfit: a black turtleneck sweater, a matching velvet long skirt, paired with stockings and high heels.

Her hair was tied up, adorned with pearl earrings, elegant and beautiful.

Grace hadn't regained her memory, but her tastes were the same as before.

Henry felt a softness in his heart. Taking advantage of the absence of others, he took out a wallet from his pocket, pulled out a card with his name on it, and told her the password, saying she could use his card for any expenses in the future.

Grace took the card and gently looked it over.

A super VIP card from the bank, totally different from a regular bank card. Grace, however, thought that he hadn't specifically made a card for her but gave her one with his name, which felt very intimate.

Grace didn't dare to accept it, whispering, "We've only known each other for two or three months; it's too fast, Henry."

Henry gently touched her cheek and said, "We've already slept together; how is it too fast?"

Grace couldn't help but blush.

Henry put the card away for her and leaned in for a kiss. "Actually, this is my salary card. Even as a CEO, I get a salary. Not counting bonuses, there's over three million dollars in annual salary here. Doesn't it feel like I'm supporting my wife?"

No woman wouldn't feel touched by that.

Grace didn't refuse anymore, and their relationship took a step forward.

When Henry took her downstairs for dinner, he squeezed her hand, and she knew that tonight he would definitely want to make love to her.

Thinking about that, she blushed and her heart raced.

During dinner, Henry didn't make any special introductions; he just let Grace sit beside him.

The servants, while serving the dishes, were so happy they couldn't stop smiling, being very enthusiastic towards Grace. The two kids were also on their best behavior.

Clara was especially gentle and kind, frequently pushing dishes towards Grace, saying she was too thin and needed to eat more, and that she should eat here every day from now on.

All of this made Grace feel overwhelmed.

In a daze, she also felt something was off. Even if Henry liked her and she was with him, what she had now was too perfect; so perfect it felt like she had stolen it.

She felt uneasy and looked at Henry, who gave her a plate of salad with broccoli.

Grace hated broccoli the most.

She frowned, afraid others would notice, and had to eat it slowly. Clara, seeing their sweet interaction, couldn't help but feel happy for them.

After dinner, Grace spent some time with Taylor before leaving.

Henry personally drove her.

Grace sat beside him, still feeling restrained and uneasy, whispering, "Actually, it's the same if the driver takes me."

Henry, holding the steering wheel, focused on the road ahead and smiled, "How is it the same?"

There was a red light ahead, and he stopped the car.

Without turning his head, he casually held her delicate hand, playing with it, and said nonchalantly, "The driver can't take my place for what happens later."

"Henry!" Grace wasn't used to such explicit flirting and couldn't help but protest.

Henry turned to look at her, his handsome face carrying the charm of a mature man. He asked her, "Were you uncomfortable yesterday? You held onto me the whole time."

Grace was comfortable, but she was too shy to talk about sex.

Henry looked at her quietly, knowing she was shy. He said softly, "Yesterday I didn't use protection, but it was your safe period. I won't forget next time."

Grace's body wasn't as it used to be, and she wasn't suitable for pregnancy.

Besides, they had just gotten together, and he wanted to enjoy their time as a couple.

He had thought that if Grace never remembered and never doubted, he would have another child with her.

Henry wanted her to feel secure. Many women needed children for that sense of security, and he didn't want her to feel left out.

Thinking of this, his voice lowered, very gently. "In a couple of years, let's have a child."
