Chapter 373 Oliver, Let Me Go

Half an hour later, Sarah rolled up to the hospital where Ellie was staying.

The sky was just starting to brighten. Sarah rocked a black coat and matching heels, her hair neatly tied back. She looked a bit pale but still managed to pull off a gentle and elegant vibe.

Fourth floor, VIP section.

A nurse stopped Sarah at the elevator, but she was polite about it. "Sorry, ma'am, this whole floor's reserved. You might be in the wrong spot."

Sarah handed over Ellie's business card.

"I'm Ms. Johnson's sister," she said. "Heard she was sick, so I came straight from home to see her."

Sarah was dressed to the nines, carrying a super expensive handbag.

The nurse didn't question her and smiled. "Oh, you're Ms. Johnson's sister! Go right ahead. By the way, Ms. Johnson's boyfriend is here too. They seem really close. Since Ms. Johnson got hurt, Mr. Windsor hasn't left her side!"

Sarah gave a faint smile. She nodded slightly and headed towards the VIP ward. As she got closer, she made sure to soften her footsteps. She stood at the door and slowly opened the thick glass door.

The room was super quiet. Oliver was resting with his eyes closed, while Ellie leaned against his arm, tears at the corners of her eyes, looking all pitiful.

Oliver was still in the same clothes from yesterday. Looked like he stayed the whole night.

Sarah didn't make a sound. She just waited for him to wake up, knowing he was pretty alert and wouldn't stay out of it for long.

Sure enough, a few seconds later, Oliver woke up.

He slowly opened his eyes and saw Sarah at the door. She was looking at him with an indifferent expression, watching him hold another woman. Her eyes were full of mockery, maybe even a hint of pity, but no anger.

Sarah's face was calm, like she already knew.

Before Oliver could get up, Sarah walked gently into the room and approached him.

She bent down and placed a divorce agreement on the bed. They locked eyes for about two seconds before she softly said, "Oliver, let me go."

Oliver didn't react. Maybe, at that moment, he was completely stunned.

No argument, no emotional outburst. She just came to him and Ellie, calmly letting him know it was over.

She had picked the perfect moment to expose all his clumsy lies.

Oliver quickly grabbed her hand, but Sarah pulled away and walked out without a second thought. She didn't shed a single tear for him. A guy who betrayed and cheated didn't deserve any of her tears.

She left just like that, walking down the corridor, feeling cold all over. She pulled her coat tighter around her.

Behind her, Oliver's heart-wrenching voice called out, "Sarah!"

Sarah turned to look at him and said, "Stay back! At this point, there's no way we can save this marriage. Oliver, do you really think we can? Do you think any woman could endure this? Unless she has no feelings for you and is just after your money or your so-called prowess... But I can't! When I got together with you, when I married you, I hoped to be with you for life. If that's not possible, fine! At least, let's part on good terms! Let's keep a shred of dignity! But you... you've let me down so much!"

After saying that, Sarah turned and slowly walked away.

Oliver didn't chase after her. He walked to the window and watched Sarah go down the stairs. He saw her frail body trembling in the wind, and he saw her pull her coat tighter.

He then remembered that she had just had a miscarriage.

The black car slowly drove away in his sight.

In late autumn, on such a morning, it started to snow lightly.

Grace once said, "Oliver, I hate snow because every time it snows, it means a farewell, it means I'm about to lose something."

Oliver now thought, 'So, is it the same with me and Sarah? It's snowing now. And she is going to leave me for good.'

When Oliver arrived at the hospital, Sarah had already been discharged.

He drove back to the villa. The car slowly stopped in the parking lot. A thin layer of snow had accumulated on the hood. He sat in the car, quietly smoking a cigarette, watching the wipers move back and forth.

As he finished his cigarette, a servant came over with an umbrella. Oliver lazily took the umbrella and asked, "Has Sarah returned?"

The servant replied cautiously, "Yes, Mrs. Windsor just returned."

Oliver put the umbrella aside, extinguished the cigarette, and walked towards the villa entrance.

He went straight upstairs. As he entered the bedroom, he took off his half-wet coat and handed it to the servant. Then he looked inside; Sarah wasn't in bed.

She was leaning on the sofa in the living room, looking sickly.

Beside Sarah, Jacob was there, and Olivia was holding Nicole, trying to soothe her. The scene looked very harmonious.

Oliver walked in, bent down, and took Nicole from Olivia. He said to Olivia, "Go out."

Olivia stood there, not moving for a long time.

Oliver raised his voice, "Go out!"

Olivia obeyed on the surface but was cursing inside. Reluctantly, she left.

After Olivia closed the door, Oliver sat down next to Sarah with the child in his arms and asked in a low voice, "Why didn't you stay in the hospital for a few more days? The doctor said you need to rest."

"I can't stop worrying about Jacob." Sarah still didn't argue, remaining very calm.

She gently played with Jacob, her lowered eyes full of tenderness, but she spoke the most cruel words to him. She said, "Give me Jacob. You are still young and have so much wealth. I'm sure there are many women willing to have children for you. In the future, if you want to see Jacob, I can arrange for you to meet. If you're worried that Jacob will affect your new life, I can also tell him that you are always abroad and haven't returned."

Oliver didn't say anything. He just stared at her, thinking that she must have prepared these words long ago.
