Chapter 223 Letting Go of Henry: Why Not Consider Me Instead?

Dylan, usually cool as a cucumber, lost it and blurted out, "You know I like you!"

The air went dead silent, like someone hit the mute button on life.

Dylan felt a pang of regret, but being the no-nonsense guy he was, he decided to just roll with it.

He locked eyes with Grace. "Still hung up on Henry? Why not give me a shot?"

Grace's voice was ice-cold. "I'll never like you! I'll always remember how you wrecked the Windsor family! Be with you? Dylan, have you lost your damn mind?"

Dylan grabbed her hand.

Grace flinched and tried to yank it back.

But Dylan pulled her in, so close they were practically breathing the same air. He looked into her eyes, like he was on the edge of losing it, and whispered, "I haven't lost my mind! You hate me. Oliver hates me too. You know what he did? He seduced Sarah. They got hitched a year ago in Vesper City!"

Grace was floored. Oliver married Dylan's sister, Sarah Miller.

Why would Oliver do that?

Dylan clenched his jaw. "Revenge! Yeah, I went after the Windsor family, but did they really do nothing to screw us over? I did it all, but why drag Sarah into it? She's only 22, twelve years younger than Oliver. What does she see in him? Sure, he's rich and good-looking, but he's been to prison!"

Grace's voice was frosty. "Yeah, Oliver's been to prison. Dylan, you damn well know the reason."

Grace shoved Dylan away hard.

Under the neon lights, Grace's once-innocent face was now hardened.

Grace had been through too much; she had no more sympathy, no more selflessness.

She looked at Dylan and sneered, "Back then, you watched me struggle and beg. Must've felt pretty good, huh? Dylan, you blame my dad and want revenge, but did you ever think Oliver and I were innocent too? You just haven't finished your revenge yet!"

Grace's words were harsh, but her heart ached for Sarah. She knew Oliver's nature all too well.

Grace didn't show it in front of Dylan. She broke free from him, opened the car door, and got in. She kicked off her high heels and floored it.

If Dylan hadn't jumped out of the way, he would've been roadkill.

As the silver Rolls-Royce sped by, Grace rolled down the window and shouted, "Get out of the way!"

Grace drove straight to Henry's place.

She wasn't in a good headspace and didn't get out of the car right away. She sat there alone for a bit, then dialed Oliver's number.

Oliver's phone was off.

Grace thought about posting on Facebook but decided against it. She tossed her phone into the glove compartment, leaned back in her seat, and stared blankly.

The car door opened gently.

Outside was Henry, sitting in his wheelchair, looking sharp even at night in a white shirt and black trousers.

Henry looked at her quietly and said sarcastically, "Thinking about Owen?"

Grace didn't respond.

He wanted to say more, but then he noticed the tears at the corner of her eye. His heart softened instantly, and he asked gently, "What happened?"
