Chapter 362 It's Just Too Humiliating for Me as Mrs. Windsor

The nanny hesitated for a moment.

Sarah shot her a look.

The nanny didn't dare to resist; she could tell Sarah had changed. Sarah used to be so simple, and she was still gentle, but now there was something different in her eyes. A touch of authority that made people uneasy.

Sarah grabbed her shawl and gracefully headed downstairs to meet Ellie alone.

This apartment was in a fancy neighborhood, and it got pretty chilly at night.

Ellie, though, was rocking a spaghetti strap dress, looking all seductive in the night, especially with her wavy long hair that was super eye-catching. In just half an hour, a bunch of guys had already hit on her, asking for her price.

Ellie cursed them out, feeling pretty annoyed afterward.

She wandered outside Oliver's apartment like a lost soul, just hoping to catch a glimpse of him.

Sarah stepped out of the building, wearing a black long dress with a low neckline, showing off her smooth skin. The thick cashmere scarf wrapped around her made her look cozy.

When Ellie saw Sarah, her beautiful, narrow eyes were filled with jealousy.

Ellie leaned against the red sports car, trying to act cool as she lit a lady's cigarette, smoking with a seductive air.

She gave Sarah a provocative look, "Did he send you? Why won't he see me?"

Sarah replied calmly, "He doesn't know you're here."

Ellie's beautiful face twisted, "Sarah, you're so despicable! Do you think you can win his heart by always stopping me from seeing him? Dream on! Our past together is something you'll never measure up to!"

"I'm not trying to compete with you." Sarah lowered her gaze, "Ms. Johnson, you've never been married, so you might not know. Sometimes, a marriage is like training a dog. If you train it well, even if you throw it an expired bone, it will eat it with relish. If you tell it to bark, it will bark."

Sarah finished with a light smile.

Ellie's nails dug deeply into her flesh as she raged at Sarah, "You don't love him! Why do you stay by his side and ruin his feelings?"

Sarah's smile faded, and her voice was soft and gentle, "Because I'm pregnant! It's Oliver's child. Should I suffer alone with the child and make room for you to enjoy? Besides, he didn't love me before either, didn't he ruin my feelings and my youth?"

Sarah continued, "Now, I've figured it out. I no longer demand his love, and even the loyalty in marriage doesn't matter to me anymore. I enjoy you calling him over, counting down your last days in secret. Anyway, when he comes back, he feels guilty, and at that time, whatever I want, he will give me."

Ellie's face twisted, and she couldn't help but curse, "You..."

Sarah made a shushing gesture.

Then, she smiled slightly and turned to walk towards the elevator in the foyer.

Sarah returned to the apartment.

Oliver had already come out of the study. He was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, and when he heard Sarah's door opening, he turned to look at her.

Sarah didn't want to lie to him. She lowered her head, her tone gentle, "She's downstairs, do you want to see her?"

Oliver unbuttoned his cuffs and walked to the dining table to sit down. After a while, he smiled, "Why should I see her? There's no need."

Sarah said no more. When she came over, Oliver pulled out a chair for her, his familiar manner making them seem like a loving couple.

The nanny brought Nicole over, and he even played with her.

It was as if he really didn't care about Ellie downstairs.

Sarah felt he was just pretending, but she said nothing. She looked up and gently told the nanny, "I don't have much of an appetite. Could I have a bowl of soup, please?"

The nanny understood. Oliver now doted on Sarah the most, pampering her in every way, and everything was done according to her wishes.

Sarah's extreme calmness made Oliver uneasy; he didn't know what she was thinking.

She didn't want to say, and a man trying to please a woman usually meant giving gifts and throwing gold cards. Although it was tacky, it was sincere. Oliver had been with many women, so he understood this well.

A car full of expensive gifts filled the living room.

Sarah didn't even look at them. As usual, she soothed Nicole to sleep and handed her to the nanny. When she returned to the bedroom, she casually opened one or two gifts while sitting on the couch. As she expected, they were all jewelry, and she immediately lost interest.

Oliver sat across from her, glancing at the expensive diamond necklace, and asked indifferently, "Don't you like it?"

Sarah gently shook her head, lightly stroking her still-flat belly, and said softly, "It's not that I don't like it! But Oliver, you know I'm not that materialistic. Sometimes, instead of jewelry, I just need some money for everyday expenses. I remember when we were living in Vesper City, I didn't dare use Dylan's credit card, and I was too afraid to ask you for money. I avoided socializing because I couldn't afford it, and sometimes I didn't even have enough for a meal. Now, we have another child on the way, and with Jacob and Nicole, that's three kids to take care of. I can't keep asking the servants for money, can I? It's just too humiliating for me as Mrs. Windsor."
