Chapter 354 Unfortunately, His Heart is on the Right Side

Oliver propped himself up.

Zoey frowned, "Mr. Windsor, you've got a nasty wound. You should be resting!"

Oliver gave her a tired look, "You seem pretty chipper. Go grab me a pack of smokes."

Zoey hesitated at first, but Oliver wouldn't let it go. So, she went out, borrowed a pack from the bodyguard, and handed it to him.

Oliver leaned back against the headboard, pulled out a cigarette, and lit it.

As the smoke curled up, he asked calmly, "What did the Windcrest police say?"

Zoey answered honestly, "They said if Mrs. Windsor doesn't change her statement, they'll move forward with the case. Even if we don't cooperate, it won't change anything."

Oliver didn't press further.

Zoey thought for a moment, then asked, "Mr. Windsor, what about the Windsor Group's stock and your scandal with Ms. Johnson?"

Oliver took a drag, exhaling slowly.

After a bit, he said, "Once Sarah's issue is sorted, everything else will follow."

Zoey couldn't help but admire him; he was so calm under pressure.

The Windsor Group lost billions overnight, and he didn't even flinch. Why didn't Sarah aim for his head?

Oliver choked on his cigarette.

He stubbed it out and said, "Set up a meeting with the police for tonight, as soon as possible."

Just then, the door opened, and a bodyguard walked in.

Oliver was annoyed; he hated interruptions.

The bodyguard said cautiously, "Mr. Windsor, Ms. Johnson says she's not feeling well and wants you to come see her."

A flash of anger crossed Oliver's face. "If she's not well, she should see a doctor. I'm not a doctor, and I'm stuck here. How can I go to her?"

The bodyguard quickly left.

Oliver still leaned against the headboard, looking at the bandages wrapped around him.

Seeing the white gauze, he couldn't help but remember the intense scene at the hotel, Sarah stabbing him, and her lying on the bed, looking so alluring despite the chaos.

Snapping back to reality, he told Zoey, "Bring Nicole to Windcrest."

Zoey was stunned.

Oliver sneered, "Are you really going to let Sarah go to prison? After 20 years, what kind of life will she have left?"

Zoey forced a smile, "Don't worry, Mr. Windsor."

Leaving the room, she closed the door and thought, 'When it comes to being ruthless, Sarah's no match for Oliver.' She admired Sarah's guts but was also deeply worried.

In the mansion, a servant hung up the phone, looking troubled.

Ellie stood nearby, her beautiful face twisted with tension. She kept asking, "What did Oliver say? Is he coming?"

The servant shook her head, struggling to speak, "Mr. Windsor is in the hospital. But he's still worried about you. He said you should see a doctor and take care of yourself."

Ellie lost it. She swept the crystal ornaments off the cabinet, shattering them on the floor. Still not satisfied, she smashed everything in sight, even her favorite wedding photo, which she threw down and stomped on.

Panting, she sneered, "He's totally avoiding me! The moment that bitch Sarah showed up, he lost his mind and ran to her. Can you believe a guy as careful as him almost got stabbed to death by a woman in bed? Look outside! Reporters are everywhere, writing lies and making me the most hated mistress, and he doesn't care at all."

Ellie grew more hysterical, smashing all the photos as she cried.

Only now did she realize that those loving photos meant nothing. In Oliver's heart, there was only Sarah.

In Windcrest, at the detention center, the interrogation room was narrow and cramped.

Sarah sat on an old chair, still in the same dress. Her face was pale, but her lips were red.

The policeman across from her looked at her beautiful face.

Sarah seemed fragile, but she had bravely stabbed her unfaithful wealthy husband.

The policeman felt a bit of pity. He asked, "Would you like coffee or water?"

Sarah spoke softly, "Water, please. Thank you."

She held the cup with her slender fingers but didn't drink. Her expression was indifferent as she spoke slowly, "I hate my husband! He was with Ellie before we got married; they were lovers, but he hid that when he pursued me."

"Besides Ellie, my husband had many mistresses. During our marriage, he kept cheating. At first, I couldn't accept it because I loved him deeply! But when I saw his true colors, I realized I didn't love him anymore. An unfaithful man doesn't deserve love! Ellie kidnapped my son, and he almost died, but my husband still kept seeing her. So, I began to hate him!"

"While we were in bed, I tried to stab him in the heart. Unfortunately, his heart's on the right side, so it didn't work."

Sarah spoke in a very gentle tone.

The police officer, looking somewhat shocked, shifted in his seat and asked, "During all those years your husband was cheating, didn't you try to stop him or save your relationship?"

Sarah smiled slightly, her pupils dilating a bit, and said, "I tried having an affair too, not out of revenge, just to see what it was like. But in the end, my husband locked me in the villa for two years."
