Chapter 411 The Moore Family Banquet: Announcing Sarah's Noble Status 2
The Moore Mansion Party
That evening, the Moore Mansion was lit up with purple and pink glass lanterns. The soft, rosy light filtering through the glass shades created a soothing ambiance.
Cars were parked bumper to bumper inside and outside the Moore Mansion.
The elite of Evergreen City had all gathered.
They had heard that Matthew had found his biological daughter, who was only 25 years old. Considering the timeline, it was a romance that occurred after Matthew's wife had passed away, leaving no room for criticism.
It wasn't surprising that Matthew wanted to acknowledge his daughter.
But the grandeur of today's event showed just how much Matthew valued her. Everyone was curious about what kind of girl could make Matthew break his usual low-key demeanor. Matthew was known for his discretion and never gave anyone a reason to gossip.
Oliver held a wine glass, surveying the surroundings.
Under the moonlight, the delicate pink glass shades swayed gently in the breeze, producing a pleasant, tinkling sound.
He suddenly remembered that Sarah also loved these kinds of lanterns.
One Christmas, she had decorated the yard with similar glass lanterns, though they weren't as exquisite as the ones at the Moore Mansion. These were clearly antiques, with superior craftsmanship and color.
Oliver came from a prestigious family himself.
He knew that finding one precious glass lantern was easy, but gathering a thousand of them required significant effort. It seemed like all the glass lanterns in the country were here, showing just how much Matthew cherished his daughter.
This kind of affection,
How could Sarah compete with that?
Oliver couldn't understand why Sarah insisted on clinging to the Moore family instead of coming back home with him. He believed that after tonight's party, once the headlines hit the newspapers, she would realize that the Moore family had no place for her.
He was in a foul mood and didn't engage in conversation.
Despite his sour demeanor, his striking appearance still attracted the attention of many socialites, some of whom boldly approached him to flirt. Oliver, however, was in no mood for it and looked visibly displeased.
The music was melodious.
The ancient architecture seemed to come alive with the music as invisible vines stretched out towards the walls and stone surfaces, creating a breathtaking scene.
Oliver grew increasingly bored.
He had no desire to meet Matthew's daughter. In his mind, she was probably a pitiful girl from the countryside, whom Matthew would spend the rest of his life trying to transform into a socialite.
He chuckled softly, set down his wine glass, and headed towards the restroom.
Dressed in a snow-white pleated shirt and a black velvet evening suit, he exuded an air of elegance and charm.
Even after he left, the ladies continued to talk about him.
On his way, Oliver ran into a familiar face, Claire.
Claire was holding Jacob's hand as they walked across a small bridge, heading to the main hall to witness Sarah's transformation into a noblewoman. She had heard from Isabella that tonight's event was grand, with over 30 reporters present.
Claire grinned widely.
Suddenly, someone blocked her path. She looked up and was stunned: "Mr. Windsor!"
Oliver frowned. "Claire, what are you doing here? And why is Jacob here?"
Claire replied, "We came with Mrs. Windsor! Oh, I forgot to tell you, Mrs. Windsor moved into the Moore Mansion. Isn't the environment here nice? Mr. Windsor, look at these glass lanterns. They're even more beautiful than the ones in the movies!"
Oliver's face turned ashen.
Sarah had actually moved into the Moore Mansion!
Just as he was about to lose his temper, Sarah's voice came from behind. "Claire, Jacob!"
Claire was delighted to see her. "Mrs. Windsor, I'm here! Wow! This mansion is so big, it's easy to get lost!"
Sarah approached and finally noticed Oliver.
Oliver glared at her, gritting his teeth. "You moved into the Moore Mansion?"
Sarah's eyes were misty. She nodded.
Oliver looked at the expensive blue designer dress she was wearing. He couldn't believe she had gone to such lengths to please the Moore family, even moving into Nicholas's home.
In the night, Oliver's voice was cold. "Don't forget, you're still Mrs. Windsor!"
"What does that have to do with me living in the Moore Mansion?"
"Of course, it matters!"
Oliver told Claire to take Jacob away. Sensing the tension, Claire quickly left with Jacob, not wanting to scare him.
Once Jacob was gone, Oliver grabbed Sarah's arm and pulled her into his embrace.
He looked down at her. His eyes were filled with malice, as if he wanted to kill her. He gripped her chin and demanded, "Do you crave men that much?"
He was always like this. He never respected her, always saying things to humiliate her. Even though he was the unfaithful one in their marriage, he still had the audacity to demand that she remain virtuous.
Sarah tilted her head back and sneered. "You're right! Because I don't love you anymore, because other men are better... Oliver, you got the answer you wanted. Are you satisfied?"
"Do you believe I'll strangle you right now?"
The veins in his neck bulged. He was clearly furious!
He dragged her towards the parking lot. Sarah knew exactly what he intended to do. Whenever things didn't go his way, he would find a way to humiliate her. Her feelings and pain never mattered to him.
Her lips trembled. "Oliver, you haven't changed at all!"
Still the same bastard!
Oliver closed in on her, his anger driving him to check her chastity.
The car was too dark inside, not a good place to proceed.
He decided to take her to a hotel immediately, to strip her of her clothes and inspect her thoroughly, to cleanse her inside and out.
Just as Oliver was about to forcefully take Sarah away, Isabella arrived.
Isabella looked surprised. "What's going on here?"
Oliver didn't let go. He said, "I'm taking my wife away! Mrs. Moore... is there a problem?"
Isabella smiled faintly. "You two are still married in name! No big deal!"
"But Sarah still needs to formally call my dad 'Father' in front of everyone tonight, to officially join the Moore family!"
"At this critical moment, if you start a fight with your wife, Dad will be very upset!"
Oliver was stunned. What did she mean by 'Father'?
Sarah was Matthew's long-lost daughter?
Then...
Then had he been wrong in his revenge against Sarah all these years?
What did all his years of revenge against Sarah mean now?
