Chapter 256 I Didn't Realize You Were So Shameless Before

Juniper never thought she'd bump into Frank here. It had been ages since she last saw him, and back then, she couldn't stand him.

But Brent had been her saving grace. Even though he was gone, her heart still held onto the love he once gave her.

In the hallway, old flames met again after years apart, and neither of them was young anymore.

Frank lit a cigarette, and as the smoke curled up, everything around them got a bit blurry, including their stares.

Frank asked quietly, "How've you been?"

Juniper wasn't the naive girl she used to be. She had been his lover, always feeling less than despite her tough exterior. But now, as Mrs. Morgan, she had billions to her name. She didn't need to live under anyone's shadow anymore.

Juniper looked at Frank. After a moment, she pulled out a lady's cigarette from her bag, but Frank stopped her just as she was about to light it. He said, "Since when did you start smoking?"

Juniper looked up and smirked, "Frank, you haven't changed! When Brent was alive, he didn't mind me smoking either, but he'd only let me have one or two. If I wanted more, he'd carry me to bed..."

She spoke in a teasing tone, knowing exactly how to get under his skin after all those years.

Sure enough, Frank's face went pale. He stepped closer, pinning her against the wall. His tall frame blocked the light, casting his face in shadow.

Juniper looked up at him, feeling a bit dazed. Over the years, Frank had actually changed a lot, he was still handsome but much darker.

Frank's voice was soft. "You don't need to tell me how he did you or how many times you were with him! He's dead now, isn't he?"

Just as he finished, she slapped him.

Frank turned his face away for a moment but quickly looked back at her, still staring intently. "Did I say something wrong? He's gone! You're not Mrs. Morgan anymore; you're Juniper Davis!"

Frank seemed to care a lot.

Juniper laughed. Despite her glamorous new look, there was still a trace of the past in her laughter. After she had laughed enough, she looked up at Frank.

Juniper exhaled softly, "Frank, I'll die too! When I do, I'll be buried next to Brent, and my name will be inscribed as Brent's beloved wife!"

With that, she pushed him away and walked forward without looking back.

Behind her, Frank still stood there.

He had the whole world at his feet, controlled the fate of the Cavendish family, and even held the Green family's future in his hands, but he had lost Juniper forever.

He watched Juniper's back and suddenly said softly, "I got divorced!"

Juniper stiffened.

Frank's voice grew louder as he repeated, "Juniper, I divorced her!"

This time, Juniper replied, her voice cold and carried a hint of sadness. "Frank, what's the point of saying this now?"

Frank walked over and gently hugged her from behind.

He did nothing else, just held her, softly whispering apologies and asking if there was still a chance for them to get back together.

Grace had been watching for a while and felt the urge to step in.

A hand wrapped around her from behind, pulling her into a warm embrace—it was Henry.

Henry leaned down, his lips close to her ear. "Let them sort it out themselves. Don't worry, Juniper can handle it."

Grace struggled and gritted her teeth. "Let go of me!"

Henry's face was a bit flushed. He looked at her angry face from the side and said softly, "I sent your driver away. I've had a few drinks, so can you drive me later?"

Grace refused.

Henry added, "It's snowing outside, there might be an accident."

Grace struggled again, and this time he let her go. She looked at him and sneered, "I didn't realize you were so shameless before!"

Henry leaned against the wall, the light making his face look even more handsome, especially since he was dressed more elegantly today.

He looked at Grace, a charming smile on his lips. "Because I never chased a girl before, so you haven't seen it. Grace, most men are shameless when they're pursuing a woman."

Grace took the coat from his hand, her voice even colder. "Really? Well, I've learned something new."

Her coldness didn't bother Henry. He led her to the underground parking lot and opened the passenger door for her.

Grace looked at him.

Henry said calmly, "That glass of red wine was like drinking water; it was nothing!"

Grace knew his drinking capacity and said nothing more. After getting in the car, she silently took off her coat and leaned back to rest.

After Henry got in, he started the navigation, setting the destination to a certain club.

Grace asked, "Aren't you taking me home?"

Henry's long fingers continued to operate the GPS, his tone naturally calm. "There's a college reunion today, and some friends are there too. They all want to see you!"

Grace understood that he was doing this on purpose, wanting to spend time alone with her.

She wanted to get out of the car, but a soft click sounded as he locked the doors. Then Henry leaned over and planted a light kiss on her lips, his voice hoarse. "Just hang out for a bit! If you don't like it, we'll leave. Grace, there are maids at home to take care of Clara and the kids. You should relax and have your own life."

Grace turned her face away. She wasn't convinced by his words but knew that Henry wouldn't let her go easily.

She could guess what he wanted to do tonight.

Henry's back-and-forth tactics were just to get her body. She didn't really mind; they were both adults, so what was there to care about?

Besides, with Henry, she wouldn't be at a disadvantage.

Grace no longer refused, and a woman's silence often meant consent.

In the dim car, Henry's blue eyes were deep. He gently held her hand and then lightly pressed the gas pedal. Snow was falling outside, and because Grace was beside him, he drove very slowly.

The car was quiet, and it seemed they could hear the sound of the snow melting outside.

At every red light, Henry would hold her hand, saying nothing, just holding it gently.
