Chapter 351 Sarah Arrives in Windcrest
Oliver clutched his phone at the villa in Windcrest, listening to the endless busy tone. Sarah still wasn't picking up.
He knew she was pissed.
If he could, he'd hop on a plane back to Vesper City right now to be with her and Jacob. But Ellie didn't have much time left, and he had to sort things out here before heading home.
Oliver also knew Sarah was thinking about Nicole—Lester's kid, who was super cute and well-behaved.
He let out a bitter laugh. In Sarah's eyes, Lester always came first. She was giving him the cold shoulder now, probably to stick up for Lester.
He raised his hand, and a bodyguard in black stepped forward. "Mr. Windsor, what do you need?"
Oliver stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, tall and straight. He gave a few quick orders.
Vesper City.
Nicole was missing. Olivia was frantic, tears streaming down her face. "She was just in the stroller, and now she's gone! How can a fancy hospital like this have kidnappers?"
Olivia couldn't face Sarah, and she felt even worse for the late Lester and Alyssa.
Sarah, though, was calm. She slowly put down the knitting she was working on and said softly, "Olivia, bring Zoey over."
Olivia, quick on the uptake, soon got it.
Olivia was shocked. "Mrs. Windsor, are you saying Mr. Windsor took the child? Why would he take Mr. Mitchell's kid? He wouldn't hurt a child, would he?"
Sarah stayed indifferent.
Zoey pushed the door open and walked in.
Sarah stood by the window, quietly looking outside. Hearing the door open, she said softly, "Zoey, I want to go to Windcrest. Can you help me set it up? I don't want Oliver to know."
Zoey hesitated. After all, she was Oliver's secretary and on his payroll. Now she was being asked to betray him.
After a moment, Zoey gave a resigned smile and said, "Alright. Worst case, I'll find another job."
Zoey was dependable. She booked the earliest flight for Sarah and gave her the address of Oliver's villa. Before Sarah left, Zoey slipped some cash and checks into her suitcase.
Olivia also packed some canned food for Sarah, worried she wouldn't like the food there.
With tears in her eyes, Olivia advised, "Be careful over there. Don't confront Mr. Windsor directly. Sometimes, it's better for a woman to be gentle to get things done. We'll figure out the future as it comes."
Zoey nodded in agreement.
Sarah nodded and smiled faintly, her voice choked, "I'll leave Jacob in your care."
Zoey hugged her. "Don't worry!"
After more than ten hours, Sarah landed at an airport in Windcrest.
She didn't go to see Oliver right away but checked into a hotel first. The room was small, about 400 square feet, but it was enough for one person.
She put down her luggage and got ready to head out.
Before leaving, she casually picked up a sharp fruit knife from the bowl on the coffee table and placed it on the pillow of the white bed. As she left, her back was straight and firm.
People often said a woman became stronger when she became a mother.
Sarah didn't get it before, but now she did. Lester and Alyssa were gone, and from now on, she would be Nicole's mother. She wouldn't be weak anymore.
She took a taxi to the luxurious villa. The place was huge, stretching as far as the eye could see.
Sarah didn't hide who she was. She told the guard she was Oliver's wife and wanted to see him. The guard wasn't one of Ellie's people but was arranged by Oliver.
The guard was very surprised.
Sarah pulled out a check from her purse, a full $200,000, enough to buy off this job.
The guard thought for a moment and agreed.
The sun was shining, and the grass was lush on both sides of the road.
Sarah walked quickly. She had never walked so fast before. About five minutes later, she crossed the foyer and entered the luxurious hall, where several workers were decorating the house.
Huge wedding photos were hung all over the living room.
Sarah quietly looked at the photos. They were of Oliver and Ellie, either hugging or looking at each other with love. Every picture showed their deep love and their reluctance to part.
The workers kept asking Oliver, "Mr. Windsor, is it okay to hang this here?"
"Mrs. Windsor said there should be two photos here; otherwise, it looks too empty."
Oliver was looking down at his phone, responding absentmindedly, "Just do as you see fit."
He finished speaking and looked up to see the photos, but the next second, when he saw Sarah, he was stunned.
She had come to Windcrest.
