Chapter 378 I'm Not Her! I Don't Need Your Care

Sarah didn't hang up.

She was right there on the phone, and even though Oliver was usually great at comforting women, he was at a loss for words this time.

An apology just didn't seem enough for what Sarah had been through.

In the end, Oliver didn't apologize or offer any empty sweet words. With a hoarse voice, he asked, "Are you feeling better? When are you coming back to Vesper City?"

Sarah was quiet for a moment, then softly said, "The day after tomorrow. The snow should stop by then, and flights will be back to normal."

"Back to Vesper City or Evergreen City?" he asked urgently, thinking she wouldn't tell him.

Surprisingly, Sarah calmly replied, "Vesper City. We haven't divorced yet. I'll wait for you there, to get a divorce."

Sarah mentioned divorce twice in one sentence.

Oliver felt a pang of sadness. He stayed silent for a long time but didn't ask her to take back those words. How could she? They were going to divorce anyway, and it was his choice.

Finally, Oliver said, "Don't worry. I'll make sure you and Jacob have the best life. If you want, I can still take care of you like before."

Sarah smiled. That faint smile felt like a spring breeze to Oliver, but her words stung.

She said, "Oliver, I'm not her. I don't need you to take care of me."

With that, she was about to hang up.

Oliver didn't want that. He called out repeatedly, "Sarah! Sarah!"

But Sarah had already hung up.

Oliver listened to the beeping sound on the phone, feeling melancholic for a long time.

He threw down the phone and lay flat on the bed, thinking about Jacob and Sarah.

At that moment, there was a knock on the door, followed by the voice of a servant, "Mr. Windsor, are you asleep? Ms. Johnson said she's feeling unwell and would like you to check on her."

If it weren't for this phone call, Oliver would have gone. He wanted to live with Ellie, and he needed to show some sincerity.

But he was feeling unwell himself, so how could he be in the mood to care about Ellie?

He flatly refused, "I'm asleep!"

At the door, the servant stood for a while. She wasn't stupid. Although Oliver was with Ellie, his heart wasn't with her.

Two servants met at the staircase, nodded to each other, and whispered, "Mr. Windsor is being perfunctory! He doesn't want to comfort her."

"Isn't she very angry?"

"What can she do? She lost a leg and can't have children. She still expects Mr. Windsor to treat her like a treasure? He was just on the phone, comforting Mrs. Windsor. I think he can't forget her and will reconcile in the future!"

"What about Ms. Johnson?"

The previous servant continued, "Let's chat for a bit; leave her alone for a while. If she accidentally wets herself, we can take the opportunity to ask for a raise. In her current state, she wouldn't want anyone else to see her like this, so she'll definitely give us a raise."

The two servants shared a knowing smile.

They dared to treat Ellie this way because they saw that she wasn't that important to Oliver.

On the second floor, Ellie couldn't wait for Oliver.

She wanted to take it out on the servants, shouting loudly, "Mabel, where the hell are you?"

The servants were chatting and laughing secretly.

Ellie raised her voice again, "Mabel! Mabel!"

Suddenly, she paused. She slowly looked down and saw a wet patch spreading on the bed sheet. She was so agitated that she had wet herself.

Ellie was stunned for a long time. She couldn't accept it and felt deeply ashamed. Her first thought was that Oliver must not find out. If he knew about her current state, she couldn't imagine how he would think of her.

Oliver wouldn't marry her again. She had to keep this secret and find a doctor to treat her. As long as she recovered, this incident would never have happened.

Ellie desperately wanted to be strong, but looking at the yellow stain beneath her, she still cried in humiliation.

The next day, Ellie went to the hospital for a check-up, and Oliver happened to be outside.

She took the opportunity to ask the doctor.

The doctor told her that as long as she continued pelvic floor exercises, there wouldn't be any major issues.

Ellie felt relieved.

On the way back, she was in a slightly better mood and wanted to talk to Oliver, but he spent the entire trip with his elbow on his chin, staring out the window in silence.

She guessed that Oliver was thinking about Sarah again. She was very angry.

The shiny black limousine slowly drove into the villa and stopped.

A caregiver came over with a wheelchair, intending to help her sit in it, but she refused. She looked at Oliver beside her and softly asked, "Oliver, can you carry me?"
