Chapter 479 Oliver: Sarah, I'll Take You to Harmony City!

The night was still, with Moore Mansion shrouded in silence. In the master bedroom on the second floor, Isabella was packing her essentials in the walk-in closet—her everyday clothes and jewelry carefully arranged in two large suitcases.

Outside on the balcony, Vaughn smoked silently, the ashtray before him filled with over a dozen cigarette butts.

Isabella dragged her luggage out and confronted her husband. "Vaughn, are you coming with me? If you do, we remain husband and wife. If you stay, I'll respect your choice, but our marriage ends here." Her voice was strained. "I can't stay in this house anymore."

She had always respected Matthew, treating him like her own father. But fate had played a cruel joke on her. She never imagined that such a wise elder could be so foolish—refusing to help save his own grandson for fear of harming his own body, choosing instead to let the boy wait for death.

Vaughn continued smoking, unable to decide.

Isabella didn't pressure him. She called for the housekeeper, "Calista, please take my luggage to the car."

Calista Everly was shocked. "Madam, where are you going?"

"I'll stay at a hotel for now and make plans later," Isabella replied. With her own assets and respectable family background, she had options.

As Calista moved to take the luggage, Matthew's voice came from the doorway. "Where do you think you're going? Have you decided to abandon this family?"

Isabella started, then gave a bitter smile. "Can we even call this a family anymore? I don't even know what's going on in everyone's hearts anymore. You're selfish, Nicholas keeps a mistress, and Hestia has lost all dignity. This family fell apart long ago."

She attempted to leave but was blocked by several men in black suits. She looked at Matthew in disbelief. "You won't let me go?"

Matthew had some affection for her and didn't want her to leave. Moreover, the Moore family couldn't afford a scandal.

"What about Nicholas if you leave? What about Isaac? And Vaughn—do you feel nothing for them anymore?" Matthew asked coldly.

But Isabella was determined to leave.

The night remained calm as Matthew's expression darkened. "If that's how you feel, you can stay confined to your room and reflect! Hestia will handle all household and external matters from now on."

"Father!" Vaughn stood up.

Matthew laughed coldly. "Don't call me father. You can't even control your own wife!"

He left into the night.

A light mist had begun to fall in the early winter evening, shrouding everything in a veil of uncertainty.

In the study, Aaron served Matthew a cup of tea.

"You've had a long day, sir. Please have some tea. Things may be urgent, but we can solve them one by one," Aaron said attentively.

Matthew didn't touch the tea. He looked up at Aaron, a look that made Aaron's heart skip. Sure enough, Matthew opened a drawer and tossed out a document.

Aaron carefully opened it and was stunned by what he saw.

They said even the cruelest beasts spared their young, yet Matthew betrayed his own flesh and blood without hesitation.

"Isaac cannot be harmed!" Matthew's voice was ice-cold. "He is Nicholas's son and the only male child of this generation in the Moore family. For the future of the Moore family, what does sacrificing a daughter matter?"

Aaron was shocked and tried to reason with him. "Please reconsider! They may be bone marrow compatible, but this wasn't done with her consent, and she's pregnant."

"Then terminate the pregnancy," Matthew replied coldly. "Nothing is more important than Isaac! Aaron, consider this Sarah's way of repaying the Moore family. I've made my decision."

A night breeze swept through, making Matthew's expression look terrifyingly grim.

Aaron held the document with trembling hands. Matthew had truly lost his mind.

Back at their villa, Sarah was feeling unwell.

Oliver, freshly showered and dressed in loungewear, sat beside her on the sofa and felt her forehead. "Still thinking about the Moore family?"

Sarah took his hand in hers. They were husband and wife now, with no need for secrets between them. "In my memory, Nicholas was more important to Matthew than his own life. I never imagined Matthew could be so ignorant and afraid of death."

"He's addicted to power," Oliver scoffed. "But he forgot the first rule: there's always a bigger fish. He's in too deep; no one can save him now."

Sarah managed a smile.

After talking intimately for a while, just as they were about to go to bed, Oliver's phone rang.

Seeing the caller ID, Oliver narrowed his eyes before answering.

A middle-aged man's voice came through, "Matthew secretly had Sarah tested for compatibility, and she matches with Isaac. I believe Matthew will act soon. I know you've built connections in Harmony City—my advice is to send Sarah there immediately. Her children should go too. Evergreen City is too dangerous now."

"Besides, Isabella is under house arrest. Matthew has lost his mind," he added.

"Understood," Oliver replied expressionlessly.

Hanging up, he looked at Sarah, who had heard everything but showed no emotional reaction.

Oliver gently pulled her close, letting her rest against his shoulder as he revealed his plans: "I've cultivated allies in Harmony City who took over after Terry. No matter how powerful Matthew is in Evergreen City, his influence doesn't reach Harmony City. Sarah, I want to send you, the children, and Claire there for a while."

He was reluctant to part with her. They had just married, and she was pregnant—a time when she needed her husband most. He had been hesitant, but tonight's call made him decide he must send them to Harmony City.

He kissed her deeply. "Whether it's one or two years, or three or four, once I've dealt with Matthew, our family will be reunited."

Sarah was equally reluctant to leave. She and Oliver had found each other, and now they had to separate during this sweet time in their relationship.

Leaning against his shoulder, she whispered, "Oliver, though we'll be safe in Harmony City, I'll always worry about you."

Understanding her concerns, he promised, "I'll visit you for two days every two weeks. When our baby is born, I'll definitely be by your side to welcome our little daughter into the world."

Sarah nodded softly.

Oliver's heart melted. He cradled her face, kissing her gently before capturing her lips in a deep kiss.

Sarah trembled slightly, whispering his name, "Oliver."

Oliver was incredibly tender. He gazed at her intently as Sarah held tightly to his neck, her misty eyes meeting his. The intensity in his eyes made her whole body quiver.

Oliver whispered in her ear, sighing softly.

They decided to leave for Harmony City in three days.

Sarah rarely went out. Except for Jacob going to school, no one left the house. Claire began packing, thoughtfully including some of Oliver's things. "Oliver will miss Sarah and visit often! When Sarah gives birth, he must stay for a full month—childbirth is a serious matter for women."

Sarah felt a sweet warmth in her heart.

By July next year, when her baby would be born, Oliver would be shocked. He hoped for a daughter, but Sarah secretly wished for a son, so Nicole would remain the only little girl in the family and receive more attention.

As she was lost in thought, a commotion erupted downstairs. Soon, over twenty men in black surrounded the villa inside and out. Despite Oliver's security team, eight bodyguards were no match for them.

Aaron stepped forward, his expression complicated. "I apologize, but Mr. Matthew Moore wishes to see you."

Nicole curled up in her mother's arms, terrified.

Sarah comforted her daughter before addressing Aaron, "Aaron, allow me to change and call my husband."

Aaron seemed about to speak when Matthew himself entered, his face dark with malice.

Looking at Sarah, he said coldly, "That won't be necessary. Isaac is waiting for you at the hospital. For him, I know you'd even give up the baby inside you."

With a wave of his hand, several men seized Sarah.

Nicole screamed as she, her mother, and Claire were all dragged away.

The bedroom stood empty, with only Claire's half-packed luggage remaining, Oliver's favorite shirt lying on top.
