Chapter 512 Jacob, My Sister Is Dying in the Delivery Room 2

At Evergreen City's most luxurious hotel, Jacob and Chloe were in the midst of their wedding ceremony.

Nearly every socialite in the city had gathered to attend the Windsor Group CEO's second marriage, yet despite the festive atmosphere, Jacob seemed distracted, almost melancholy—hardly the picture of a jubilant groom.

Then Isadora's call came through.

Even Isadora, typically composed and controlled, sounded utterly shattered on the phone, as if her world were collapsing.

And why wouldn't it be? Born into such a family, unwanted as a daughter, entering the world to such coldness—her mother Lila imprisoned, her sister Serafina hemorrhaging in childbirth, deliberately defying fate itself.

Isadora's voice echoed through the phone: "She's carrying your child. Whether you come or not is up to you."

The phone slipped from Jacob's grasp, landing softly on the carpeted floor. He snatched it up immediately, not wasting a second before asking, "Where is she? I'm coming now."

"Stellar Maternity and Pediatric Hospital."

Jacob ended the call and turned to Anya. "Arrange the private jet. I need to get to Crystal City."

Anya stood frozen. Chloe, tonight's bride, was equally stunned—she had heard every word from Jacob's phone.

Serafina was carrying Jacob's child. She was giving birth.

If Jacob left for Crystal City, what about their wedding? What about her?

Chloe grabbed Jacob's arm, her carefully applied makeup now distorting her features as her voice turned sharp. "Jacob, our ceremony starts in thirty minutes! We're about to become husband and wife! Even if she's having your child, even if it's a difficult birth—you're not a doctor. What good would you do? Why not just send the best medical team instead?"

Her voice carried, drawing stares from the surrounding guests.

After a moment of stunned silence, everyone understood: Jacob's ex-wife was giving birth to his child—and it was a difficult delivery. The news would explode across social media within minutes, but the Windsor family had no time for damage control. All eyes were on Jacob's decision.

Oliver and Sarah could have easily arranged for others to go to Crystal City while Jacob remained for his wedding, but Oliver didn't intervene. He believed this moment called for Jacob to follow his heart.

Under the weight of every gaze, Jacob gently removed Chloe's hand from his arm. He left with only a few words, Anya immediately falling into step behind him—she was indeed Jacob's most trusted secretary, already arranging everything before they reached the car.

As the car door closed, a hand caught it—Nicole's. "Jacob, Serafina and I have the same blood type."

Jacob met her eyes quietly, then said hoarsely, "Get in."

Nicole climbed into the car immediately. Jacob buckled his seatbelt and floored the accelerator, the black Bentley shooting out of the parking garage like a comet through the night.

Behind them, Theron held a small boy, watching them disappear. Ben, adorable and just learning to speak, asked where Mommy was going.

Theron smiled gently. "Mommy's doing something very important."

Ben nodded and began playing with Theron's shirt buttons.

The black Bentley raced down the highway like a shooting star through the darkness. What should have been an hour's drive took Jacob only forty minutes. They boarded the private jet to Crystal City, arriving at the hospital around ten o'clock that night.

The deep night carried an eerie stillness.

Hurried footsteps echoed through the long maternity ward corridor—Jacob rarely lost his composure like this. Even when Nicole had hemorrhaged severely, he hadn't been this frantic.

"Serafina."

He changed into sterile scrubs as quickly as possible and entered the delivery room. The air was thick with the metallic scent of blood.

Serafina lay on the narrow bed, her body drenched in sweat as if she'd been pulled from water. She gripped the side rails, her body trembling with effort as she gasped for air, her once-gentle eyes now glazed and unfocused.

A woman in labor is never a beautiful sight—raw, primal, desperate. But the moment Jacob saw her, his heart clenched violently, tears threatening to fall. He had known Serafina from humble beginnings, shared a year of marriage with her, lost a child together, experienced brief moments of sweetness—but all of that paled compared to watching her fight for their child's life on this delivery table.

Jacob stepped forward and took her hand. Her fingers were ice-cold.

Serafina froze. Through her delirium, she opened her eyes and saw Jacob standing there in his impeccable black tuxedo, his dark hair perfectly styled with pomade. She remembered this was his wedding day.

Why had he come?

Serafina's lips trembled as if she wanted to speak.

Jacob squeezed her hand tightly, leaning down to embrace her gently, burying his face in the curve of her neck. Warm drops fell there—Jacob's tears.

"I'm here, Serafina."

She was in his arms. For a moment, time suspended as memories flooded back—her feelings for Jacob, the delicate gold chain she loved to wear, the miscarried child, the phone calls that never went through.

'Jacob, you came. But why did it take you so long? Jacob, why did you wait so long?' she thought, her heart filled with mixed feelings of joy and sorrow.

A piercing cry tore through the delivery room in the dead of night—a sound that carried all of Serafina's grievances and resentments, releasing every buried hurt from her heart. Her relationship with him had always been this: forgetting and remembering in equal measure.

The medical staff encouraged her, calling for her to hold on, saying the baby was almost here.

Outside the delivery room, more hurried footsteps approached. Oliver and Sarah had arrived, along with Theron and Ben, Elliot and Diana. The entire Windsor family had come, hoping for Serafina and her child's safety, praying Jacob would have the chance to make amends.

Summer nights are short, dawn comes early. A baby's cry pierced the air above Stellar Maternity and Pediatric Hospital.

Serafina had delivered a daughter. Mother and child were safe.
