Chapter 495 Oliver Made All the Preparations for Her Safety

That evening, Oliver sent Sarah and the children to Harmony City. Claire couldn't bear to see them go, accompanying them all the way to the airport and wiping tears as she watched the private jet take off.

At 8:30 PM, the Windsor Group's private jet landed at Harmony City International Airport. In the parking lot, four luxury cars were lined up. Octavius and Calliope were there to greet Oliver's family from Evergreen City, especially Octavius—after all, his parents were still in Oliver's custody.

Shortly after, Oliver emerged with his wife and children. Sarah held Jacob's hand while Oliver carried Nicole, who clung tightly to her father's neck, wary of her unfamiliar surroundings.

Percival, standing beside Octavius, presented Sarah with a bouquet of flowers. "Mrs. Windsor, welcome to Harmony City." The reception was infinitely more gracious than their previous cold welcome.

Sarah accepted the flowers with natural poise, carrying herself with dignity as her husband's representative. Octavius personally opened the car door, displaying impeccable manners—no trace remained of the bruises Oliver had given him days earlier. His position required knowing when to bend.

The convoy of luxury vehicles departed from the airport. An hour later, they drove through the ornate black gates of the Everhart Residence. The entire estate lit up brilliantly, creating a magnificent display.

Beyond the main house, the Everhart Residence featured an exquisite two-story guesthouse with twelve luxuriously appointed rooms. Oliver had stationed twelve trusted bodyguards there to protect Sarah. Her every movement would be guarded, and Calliope would personally accompany her to medical appointments and social events—if anything went wrong, Calliope would be the first held responsible.

Oliver had made thorough preparations for Sarah's stay in Harmony City, while Octavius felt like he was sitting on pins and needles. His home had been invaded!

Oliver escorted his wife and children to the second floor while bodyguards brought up their luggage. When Sarah attempted to unpack, Oliver stopped her gently. "You're pregnant and have had a long day. Rest—I'll handle this."

His gentle thoughtfulness never failed to make her feel cherished. As Oliver hung up their clothes, Sarah couldn't resist embracing him from behind, showing her affection. Oliver's heart melted, and he teased, "Do all women become this clingy during pregnancy?"

Sarah's slender arms encircled his trim waist. Oliver's physique was impressive despite rarely working out—his muscles and core were naturally strong and defined.

After a moment, she whispered like a lover, "Do you mind?"

Oliver chuckled softly. How could he mind? He adored it! Oliver's passion often eclipsed his gentleness; moments of true tenderness like this were few and far between. Sarah treasured these gentle moments, especially knowing he would return to Evergreen City early the next morning.

In the privacy of their intimacy, Sarah shared her thoughts: "You focus on your battles in Evergreen City. I won't be idle here—I'll cultivate any relationships that might benefit you."

Her tone was serene, but her words carried conviction. Oliver's feelings for her had evolved beyond mere attraction to include admiration and deepening affection.

He nuzzled her gently, an intimate gesture that spoke volumes. "I hate to see you working so hard," he murmured. "Just focus on your pregnancy here in Harmony City. Zoey, Henry, and Grace can handle matters in Evergreen City."

Sarah replied firmly, "Husband and wife are one—we share glory and hardship alike. I cannot enjoy comfort in Harmony City while you face danger in Evergreen City."

Before Oliver could respond, Calliope knocked, inviting them to join her. "I've baked some cookies and would love for Mr. and Mrs. Windsor and the children to join us for tea—a small welcome gathering."

Oliver looked at Sarah, who nodded slightly. "We'll be there shortly," he called out.

When Calliope's footsteps faded, Sarah released Oliver and considered their situation. "Though you hold Mr. Everhart's parents, I'm now on his territory. We shouldn't make relations too strained. We should maintain some civility."

Oliver gently touched her soft cheek and smiled. "When it comes to social interactions, I defer to you."

Sarah gave him a sidelong glance. "You're quite skilled at socializing with women. Why would you need my guidance?"

Alone in the dressing room, Oliver turned playful. "Since committing my heart to you, I haven't socialized with other women. My heart—and my body—belong only to you."

Sarah blushed at his brazen words and urged him downstairs. "Don't keep Mr. and Mrs. Everhart waiting."

Oliver caught her arm, his voice lowering. "Sarah, if he shows any improper intentions, tell me immediately. I'll knock his teeth out."

Sarah touched her belly. "With me this pregnant? Who but you would treasure me?"

Oliver placed his hand on her stomach, where his precious daughter grew.

The family visited the Everhart Residence. Oliver and Octavius discussed worldviews and financial markets while Calliope proved an excellent hostess. She had baked cookies, prepared coffee and tea, and even played the accordion for Jacob and Nicole.

Nicole sat quietly, eating cookies and watching Calliope intently. Calliope was equally taken with her. After finishing a song, she held Nicole affectionately.

Clutching the last cookie, Nicole kissed Calliope's cheek and said sweetly, "These are so yummy! I love them!"

Calliope couldn't bear children. Octavius had suggested adoption, but Calliope hadn't found the right opportunity—until meeting Nicole. She was delighted with the child and, knowing something of the girl's background, began forming an idea.

She wanted to adopt Nicole. This would give her and her husband a child while strengthening their relationship with Oliver.

With a gentle expression, Calliope said, "If you like them, sweetheart, I'll bake another batch."

She went to the kitchen, with Nicole clinging to her. Sarah watched, guessing Calliope's intentions but keeping her thoughts to herself.

When Calliope finished baking, Nicole surprised her by putting the cookies in a small bag and placing them in her father's pocket, saying in her sweet childlike voice that they were for her daddy to eat on his journey.

Oliver, mid-conversation, pulled Nicole onto his lap, making her beam with delight. Calliope couldn't hide her disappointment.

Uncertain about her chances of adopting Nicole, Calliope planned to discuss it with her husband that night during their intimate moments.

Later, the Everhart couple lay sleepless in their bed. Octavius worried about his parents in Evergreen City while secretly admiring Sarah's grace. Calliope, unable to have children of her own, coveted someone else's daughter.

Eventually, Calliope slipped her hand inside her husband's pajamas.

"Octavius," she whispered, "I think I'm ready for us to have a child."
