Chapter 382 It's Just Unrequited Love
Early in the morning, Oliver slipped back into the villa where Ellie was staying.
He didn't want to wake her up; he just needed to grab his passport from the study and bounce. But as he walked out with his passport, there was Ellie, standing at the bedroom door with a cup in her hand, looking all pissed off.
"Where are you going so early?" she demanded.
Oliver, who usually liked his women sweet and gentle, was fed up with Ellie's constant drama.
He shot her a cold look. "What right do you have to question me?"
Ellie was taken aback. She glanced at the passport in his hand and figured out what he was up to.
Trying to keep her cool, she said, "Oliver, you promised me a future."
Oliver snapped back, "What did I promise?"
Then he decided to lay it all out. "Yeah, I'm going to find her! I'm not marrying you. If you're smart, stay in Windcrest. I'll make sure you're taken care of."
Ellie just stood there, stunned. She knew she couldn't hold onto him, but she didn't expect him to leave so abruptly, without giving her any chance.
In a fit of rage, she hurled the cup at him with all her strength.
Oliver didn't see it coming and couldn't dodge in time. The cup smacked him right on the forehead, and blood started to trickle down.
Ellie immediately regretted it. "Oliver, I didn't mean to."
But Oliver wasn't interested in her apologies.
He pulled out a handkerchief, casually wiped the wound, didn't even look at her, and headed downstairs.
Ellie stood there for a moment, then hurried after him.
She had just gotten a prosthetic leg, which was still painful and not very flexible. By the time she caught up, he was already in the car, engine running.
Ellie opened the driver's door, pleading, "Oliver, don't go! I'm sorry. I won't argue with you anymore. I'll do whatever you want. Please don't leave me, don't abandon me!"
Oliver looked up at her, his face blank, and said, "I never loved you. Not for a single second."
Ellie was stunned and took a step back.
He never loved her, so why did he treat her so well? Why did he divorce Sarah? She couldn't believe it. She didn't believe he never loved her.
Oliver added, "I love Sarah."
With that, he shut the car door, hit the gas, and drove off.
The black Cayenne slowly disappeared down the road.
Ellie stood there in the morning light, feeling like a complete fool.
She thought with Sarah gone, she'd become Mrs. Windsor. Little did she know, Oliver couldn't stand it just one day after Sarah left. He said he loved Sarah, so why did he mess around with other women? His love for Sarah was just a joke.
If Sarah softened towards Oliver, it wouldn't take a month for other women to show up around him. Ellie knew better than anyone how little self-control Oliver had.
In the past, when Ellie and Oliver were together, they hooked up at least four nights a week.
She naively thought he was spending all his energy on her.
But once, during a business banquet, Ellie accidentally caught him with a representative from another company in the next room. The woman was thrown onto the conference table, and they were going at it like animals.
Back at the hotel, Ellie thought Oliver would be tired, but that night he pressed her against the floor-to-ceiling window and went at it twice more.
She seriously doubted if he was on something; otherwise, how could a guy not need rest after all that?
Ellie couldn't stop Oliver, so she took her anger out on the servants. But they were smart and had already sensed the tension, hiding out of sight. With no one to vent her anger on, Ellie went to the master bedroom on the second floor, dragged out all of Oliver's clothes, and threw them on the floor. She used scissors to shred all those expensive clothes.
As she cut, she broke down in tears.
