Chapter 361 Her Life is Peaceful Now

Half an hour later, a black Bentley rolled up to the estate villa.

Oliver stayed put in the car, not in any rush to get out. He took his time, smoking two cigarettes while ignoring the phone that wouldn't stop ringing in the glove compartment.

Only when the car was filled with pale blue smoke did he finally put out the cigarette and step out.

Inside the villa, the photo frames had been broken once but were now glued back together and hung up again, though the cracks were still visible.

Ellie, in a fiery red dress, lay sprawled on the couch. Despite her thin frame, her exquisite makeup made her look alluring and seductive. She held a glass of red wine in one hand and a cigarette in the other, showing no signs of being a patient.

Oliver was somewhat angry. He walked over, directly knocked over her wine glass, and snatched the cigarette from her hand, throwing it to the ground and stomping it out. He looked at Ellie coldly, "Are you crazy?"

Ellie maintained her previous posture and sneered at him, "Yes! I am crazy! Ever since she went to Windcrest, you haven't come to see me. Oliver, without you, what's the point of having this wretched body? What's the difference between living and being dead?"

Oliver said nothing, looking down at her coldly.

Ellie noticed his indifference and sat up slightly, scoffing, "What, now you want to be a good husband and father? Isn't it too late? Sarah already hates you to the core; otherwise, why would she stab you so viciously?"

"She's pregnant!" Oliver's voice was calm as he continued, "I will continue to take care of your daily needs and your treatment. I will also stay in Windcrest, but unless it's something important, I won't come over casually anymore."

Ellie was shocked. Sarah was pregnant. How could that be?

Ellie didn't believe it. She shook her head, refusing to accept it, "I don't believe it! Oliver, you must be lying to me. Sarah has been in the detention center for over a month. How could she be pregnant?"

Oliver said nothing.

Ellie, who had been with him for years, understood him better than anyone. She immediately realized the truth.

She started laughing, then burst into tears as she looked at him, "Oliver, are you out of your mind? You went to such extremes for her. You two haven't felt anything for each other in ages, yet you still went all out to have a kid with her. And what about me? I'm dying here. Have you ever thought about giving me anything? Just this fancy villa that I can't take with me? Or the endless meds and surgeries?"

Ellie suddenly lunged at him, hugging him tightly.

She half-sat in his lap, rubbing her body against his, trying to arouse his desires.

Ellie's attitude softened. She kept kissing and touching him, murmuring against his lips that she also wanted a child. She even reached out to hold him, her voice trembling, "She can't satisfy you, can she? You want sex!"

Oliver grabbed her hair, forcing her to look up.

His voice carried a sharp edge, "You're crazy! How can you have a child?"

Ellie screamed madly, "You resent me because I can't get pregnant, don't you? Yes, I can't have children anymore, but I can still satisfy you."

She kissed him passionately, grabbing his hand to touch her body, nearly begging him, "Oliver, just once, okay? I want you, just like all those times in the past. Do you remember our first time? We got drunk for a business deal, and the next morning we woke up together, not knowing who started it, but we naturally had sex."

Oliver was momentarily stunned. Her words stirred some guilt in him.

He caressed her face, not lewdly, and kissed her for a while. Then, pressing his forehead against hers, he whispered, "That's all in the past. Don't bring it up again. I'm Sarah's husband now, and I don't want to do anything to betray her."

With that, he turned and left firmly.

Behind him, Ellie screamed madly, "Oliver, you bastard! Do you think Sarah will love you again? Stop dreaming!"

Oliver heard every word, but he walked faster and faster. By the time he returned to the apartment, the sky was already lightening, and in another hour, it would be dawn.

Oliver thought Sarah was asleep, so he moved quietly, planning to take a shower and change his clothes. But as soon as he entered the bedroom, the wall lamp turned on, bathing the room in a soft light.

Sarah leaned against the headboard, looking at him calmly. "There's a lipstick stain on your collar, and you smell like perfume."

Oliver turned his head. Sure enough, there was a smudge of lipstick on his shirt collar, likely left by Ellie. He didn't know how to explain it to Sarah, and he couldn't tell if she was angry.

After a while, he asked, "Where's Nicole?"

Sarah remained indifferent. "She fussed for a bit, so the nanny took her to calm her down. She'll be back soon."

Oliver nodded and went into the bathroom to shower. After taking off his shirt, he stared at it for a moment before throwing it into the trash can.

In the bedroom, Sarah remained calm.

In fact, she didn't care that Oliver went to see Ellie. She exposed him just to make him feel guilty. The more guilty he felt, the more she could get from him.

Without emotions, she was more at ease.

About ten minutes later, Oliver came out of the bathroom, his tall, solid body clad only in a white bathrobe, looking fit and sexy.

He leaned against the headboard, nibbling on her earlobe. "What are you thinking about?"

Sarah replied, "I was thinking about Jacob. When is he coming? I don't feel at ease with him alone in Vesper City!"

Oliver held an unlit cigarette between his lips.

He gently touched her slender neck and smiled. "What's there to worry about with Olivia around? But soon, in about a week, Jacob will be here, and then our family will be reunited."

He finished speaking and tried to kiss her, but Sarah turned away.

Oliver guessed her thoughts and held her, nibbling on her soft earlobe, whispering seductively, "I didn't have sex with her. I just met her for something. Sarah, if you don't believe me, you can touch here and check. You can tell if a man has had sex."

Sarah remained very cold.

Oliver chuckled lightly and changed the subject. "How do you want to spend your time lately? I remember you used to like writing and drawing. Besides, we have a child at home now. If you want to raise her, you should nurture her well. With such early exposure, she'll definitely have artistic talent when she grows up."

Just then, the nanny brought Nicole over.

Oliver, still in his bathrobe, with his long legs exposed, made the nanny too shy to look. She quickly put Nicole down and left.

Sarah held Nicole, her pregnancy giving her a gentle, radiant beauty.

Oliver watched quietly. Ever since he went to prison, he had rarely experienced such a peaceful moment. Maybe it was because he was getting older, but he now cherished this feeling.

Sarah ignored him, so he sat beside her, playing with Nicole.

This was probably the happiest moment of his life. All his desires vanished, replaced by peace.

Feeling overwhelmed, Oliver couldn't help but gently hug her.

Oliver inhaled the scent of Sarah's hair and the faint milky smell of Nicole. The combination made him feel soft and tender. For the first time, he whispered in her ear, "Sarah, I love you."

After speaking, he stared at her.

He longed for her response, both emotionally and physically.

But Sarah didn't give it to him. Such rewards, like little treats, were only for obedient dogs, not for cheating men.

After a while, Oliver didn't get a response, feeling somewhat disappointed.

But Sarah was carrying his child, so he was mindful of her feelings and didn't push her.

In the following two days, Oliver was very busy, constantly having video conferences with people in Evergreen City.

Sarah, with the help of the nanny, redecorated the house. She also dressed Nicole in pretty little outfits and spent a long time on the phone with Jacob.

Her life was peaceful now. The grudges with Oliver seemed like they had never happened. He treated her well, and she was gentle with him. But how much of that gentleness was genuine, only Sarah knew.

Before dinner, she prepared the meal and was about to call Oliver to eat.

The nanny quietly approached and whispered, "Mrs. Windsor, there's a woman downstairs who seems drunk. She's causing a scene, demanding to see Mr. Windsor. The neighbors are getting disturbed. I'm afraid if this continues, it'll make the news again. Should we ask Mr. Windsor to handle it?"

Sarah calmly stopped her. "Don't bother him. I'll go down."
